Quick Chek

Easy five stars for a clutch bathroom which was surprisingly clean. My bladder thanks you immensely.

At first this place showed tremendous promise… but that all changed. the rest rooms are a horror show. Don’t even think of going there in the early morning because the staff are usually no where to be found… it’s a cut rate operation.

For a place that promotes fresh coffee, forget it. Most of the time they are out and have to brew more. One time all but two of the many different coffees were out. Not only coffee, but ½ or milk is empty, requiring a trip to the cooler. You want coffee, go somewhere else. To add insult to the no coffee, they raised the price of a large cup, by 10¢

This was my usual spot to fill up with gas since it seems to be the cheapest in the area. I went in today to fill up and buy some syrup for pancakes. Pump 12 wasn’t working quite right, every time I squeezed the handle it would stop. I probably should have moved to another pump, BUT I have had this issue before at another gas station and it still did the job– I would just hold the handle mid way and it was fine.
So, 3 gallons in and the gas starts spurting out spilling all over my car and on their floor. I go inside to tell the cashier and she calls someone else out about it– she finally makes an appearance after 10 minutes. She looks at me and asks if I spilled it, I say yes, She rolls her eyes at me and tells me with attitude to move my car. Really? Your pump is broken and you’re giving me attitude?
Last time I ever buy anything from there. They don’t need my business. That was uncalled for, and I was trying to not let it happen to someone else.

I’m definitely a big fan of this Quick Chek in Monroe! Besides the hours easily accommodating anyone looking for food at all hours, the staff is courteous and informative. They offer tons of coupons and specialty deals like «happy hour» for half price drinks on their already lower prices. The only thing I see as a downside are their hot meals. They’re usually a little slow making them, and they really aren’t the most tasty. But overall, I’m still a fan.

I’m *so* happy to finally have a 24-​hour convenience store near home. This new Quick Chek is clean and surprisingly spacious considering the relatively small footprint the building and gas pumps occupy. The prices on certain items are a bit higher than my local deli next door, but nothing beats being able to go get a frozen slush drink and junk food at 3am. :-D
Update: This Quick Chek location has gone somewhat downhill since it opened. They have periodic cleanliness issues. I’ve sworn off the made-​to-​order food, since it seems to be a crapshoot, ranging from okay to nasty. They’ve started engaging in somewhat deceptive practices regarding their gas pricing; the top price on their sign is only available to users of their new prepaid card. The aforementioned issues notwithstanding, it’s still my main go-​to for snacks and gas.
