Tony has been working on my cars for at least 15 years. He is honest, thorough, knowledgeable, and just a really nice guy.

Tony is amazing! Super honest, thorough and CLEAN! I can not imagine going to another mechanic after the experience I had today.

I took my car in to have the head gasket fixed and Tony was very thorough and called me a few times over the 4 days my car was in the shop. First to let me know what needed to happen and to ask my permission to proceed and then he called just to update me. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and very patient. His shop is immaculate and he even went above and beyond and fixed a few things he noticed needed to be fixed at no extra charge. He even had the old parts that were replaced packed and waiting in my car to inspect. And to top off the experience, they cleaned my car inside and out. I will always have Tony work on my Hondas. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate his honesty. That is hard to find these days.

My civic has been well serviced for by Tony and Main Street for at least ⁶⁄₇ years now. Tony is responsive and honest about service intervals and repairs. Reasonable prices, which is great in-​and-​of-​itself; but more importantly, you will never pay for something unnecessary — i.e. the dealership saying you need new brakes when you’ve got a good 90% left. Certified mechanic, genuine Honda parts and a quick hand wash after every service. To top it off, his shop is immaculate! No better place. In fact, I travel nearly 30 miles just to go to Main Street Autoworks.

True to his rating this is a great place. When it comes to getting your car fixed, by mechanics, car dealerships etc. honesty is the key, honesty is even first to technical knowledge about cars. These guys are honest AND they know about Acuras.
And the prices are great too.

Main Street Autoworks is the best of the best. I was first referred here by a good friend over ten years ago, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. People ask me why I’m willing to make a 3.5 hour round trip (including two ferry rides) to take my car to Tony. The biggest reason I keep coming back is that he’s one of the most honest people I’ve ever met. It’s such a breath of fresh air to do business with someone you know you can trust. That alone is worth the trip.
Tony is always professional and friendly, his shop is clean and organized, and it’s abundantly evident that he genuinely cares about his customers. Seriously, I’ve wondered if he’s secretly some kind of zen master, because I don’t know anyone else who is so consistently pleasant to deal with.
Tony is truly an expert and is always happy to take the time to explain everything that’s going on with my car — what needs immediate attention, and what can wait until a later date. His invoices come with detailed notes about the work that was done, as well as things to keep an eye on (which helps when a month or so later I find myself going, «What was that he said about the squeaky drive belt?»).
By the way, how many people are willing to suggest a do-​it-​yourself solution that only costs you a few bucks, instead of trying to sell you on a repair you don’t need (at least not for a while!) that costs 50 times more? Tony is the real deal, and I’ll continue to refer all my Honda-​owning friends to him. I’m not exaggerating in the least when I say Main Street Autoworks could serve as a model for how a successful business should operate. Tony’s large and loyal customer base says it all.
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but after getting over a decade of superstar service here, I felt compelled to do so. It’s the least I could do as a thank you to Tony.

I’ve been to a wide range of mechanics and no one comes close to Tony, at Main Street Autoworks. All of the requirements for an excellent shop are there including: quality of work, fair prices, honesty, and patience when explaining issues. However the experience here greatly exceeds these «minimum requirements.»
One thing I’ve never seen anywhere else is the creativity and ideology of fixing cars instead of just replacing parts. Numerous times, Tony has been able to fix a part on my car for a fraction of the price of replacing it. He does this as a result of an attitude of minimizing waste. Tony says things like «a used brake pad works just as well as a new one.» The idea being to maximize the lifetime of your car, down to its individual parts.
The character and integrity of this place are unequaled.

This is the best auto service shop in the north end. Tony was straight and to the point with the issue I had on my Honda. He had me come in the same day I called and diagnosed the problem on the spot. He’s honest and fair and I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area. They specialize in Honda and Acura vehicles.

Tony is the best mechanic I’ve ever worked with, hands down. He has serviced cars for our family for years (we are loyal Honda fans). The most notable marks about Tony are his honesty, integrity, and quality of service.
He has never performed a service without first discussing the matter with me, and advised me on the pros and cons of performing the service. Additionally, he has never allowed me to purchase an unnecessary service. Additionally, there have been times that I’ve had Honda questions, and he has happily talked with me to diagnose it to the best of his ability (over the phone). Talk about customer service!
His prices definitely represent the quality of his service and auto parts used. He only uses Honda OEM parts, and I have never needed to return my car to him to have something «re-​fixed.» When you pay for the service, there is no buyer’s remorse. (However, if you’re looking for a bargain, he’s not the mechanic for you. You pay for the quality.)
As long as I own Honda vehicles, Tony will be my guy!

This is a top-​notch establishment with a great guy, Tony as it’s owner. I was thoroughly impressed with several things
1. He took his time and knowledge to properly diagnose and fix issues on my car that other mechanics and even Honda dealerships were not willing to do. They wanted a large sum of money to replace unnecessary things, while he replaced only the things that were required and charged significantly less than other quotes. After his fixing, the car works great and I have no regrets.
2. His customer service skills are impeccable. Very polite, never rushed and always takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why.
3. The shop is extremely clean and well kept.
4. He is accurate as to when your car will be finished and does everything in a timely fashion
Overall, he is a sincere individual who treats the customer’s car as if it were his own. Even though Main Street Autoworks is 45 min away from my home, I would gladly drive the distance for him.

I second all of the good comments about this shop. Tony is the best! He is on time, polite, extremely knowledgeable, and the prices are very fair. I like that they use Honda parts, not cheap Chinese knockoffs. Many large chains use crappy parts-​I had rotors on a Dodge van last 25,000 miles and the shop would not stand behind them. One of the true measures of a persons integrity is how they handle an adverse situation. We had a repair on our radio that wasn’t quite right and Tony took it back in and worked it out with the radio subcontractor to get it right. There was no whining or crying, he just got it done for us. Many shops would have just charged us again, but not Tony. He made it right. We will never switch mechanics and I’m afraid to buy another brand besides Honda or Acura because then we would have to find a different mechanic and Tony is basically one of a kind. You cannot go wrong with this shop.

Ok, so you have a Honda. Nice car, right? But what if that nice car had a great… make that an EXCEPTIONAL mechanic? Think Tony at Main Street Autoworks. I love the other reviews and I agree wholeheartedly with the comments. I buy Hondas because of Tony (up to 5 Hondas and Acuras now). I have to confess that in considering moving to another area, Tony came to my mind (i.e.: who could work on my Honda like Tony??? I almost starting shuttering at the thought) Yeah, he and the folks that work there are amazing. I agree with the you can eat off the floor comment… I laughed at the comment that another Unilocal user had about the parts… because it happened to me too. I had this plastic bag full of the parts and I was like «Whoah», this guy is different. Suffice to say, this shop is not the run of the mill. You will not be satisified with any other shop when you try Tony. It is that awesome.

My last three automobiles have been Honda’s so I always need to be connected with an excellent Honda repair specialist. I work in Monroe and wanted to find a good place to leave my car for repair while I was at work.
I found Tony from a recommendation at the Car Talk website and I’m glad I did! Tony’s shop is immaculate, you can eat off the floor (a comment I read at the Car Talk website and I agree with.)
Tony is truly an automotive expert. It’s not often you run into a mechanic that is personable, honest, does the job right the first time, gives good estimates, and has fair rates. He even cleans your car before returning it (a extra nice touch has really spoiled me!)

Tony is the owner if this company. He is awesome. Every time I leave here, I wonder if I’m dreaming. He looks like Tony Hawk… just my two cents. My partner and I moved here four years ago with our 2000 CR-​V. We found this establishment and brought in our car. The last place to attempt to fix the issue we were having was unable to do it after 3 – 4 attempts. Tony did it after the first try and for a very fair price.
When we rolled into his yard, we were smitten with the cleanliness and looks of his place. We asked if we could take photos, as it looked like a Honda museum. He takes true pride in his shop. He has an old gas pump that dings when you come up the driveway. He has an old Honda hanging out of the wall. His shop is in pristine condition.
When we drove our car home, we noticed a bag on the floor with «new» parts in it. We called Tony and let him know he must have forgotten some parts. He very kindly told us those were the old parts he had removed and cleaned for us. He wanted us to be sure we knew he had, indeed, purchased and installed our parts; however, the old parts were dirty, so he CLEANED them before putting them in a bag to return to us. Seriously? In the past four years, we have gone through four new Hondas (we like new cars) and he has serviced and advised us on every one. We even send him Christmas cards. He still treats us just as professionally as he did the first time we walked in.
Lastly, he’s quicker, more affordable and more accurate than any Honda dealership I’ve ever dealt with. I prefer having warranty and service work done by Tony over any other Honda dealer anywhere. He has commendations from Honda corporate all over his walls.
