Child’s World Academy

We like the structured curricula, day plan, and the staff. Both me and my wife are very happy with everything. We moved into the area new and researched a few providers in the area and were very happy to find Child’s World Academy. Since day 1 — our 3 year old assimilated into the environment and has show steady progress in reading, learning, and various activities. The school also hosts programs like Yoga, Soccer and our little on benefitted a lot from it. We like it!

Child’s World Academy is great! Our youngest is there full day and truly enjoys the teachers and activities. We receive updates and pictures of him throughout the day showing us the great time he is having when we can’t be with him. Our oldest attends the before and after school program and has a blast everyday! Everyone is so nice and they truly care about the kids. This is a great place!!!

When we were directed to Child’s World Academy when my oldest was entering kindergarten, we couldn’t have been happier. One step inside and I was greeted warmly by the staff. My oldest is in second grade and my youngest has been in school full time for two years now at CWA. We are so lucky to have a place like Child’s World.

My son absolutely loves Child’s World Academy! The staff are very friendly and nurturing. My son has severe asthma and they are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with his condition.
They treat my son as if he is family and I absolutely love it.
If there is an issue they call you right a way. Also throughout the day you receive pictures/​videos of your child. This gives parents peace of mind. Knowing that their child is happy and well taken care of. The daily reports are wonderful too. Let me know my sons schedule during the day when I can’t be with him. All in all a great place for my sons home away from home

Child’s World Academy has treated my daughter with such care and love! I was so worried about leaving her for the first time but Ms. Elena in the baby room took amazing care of her along with all of the other wonderful teachers. I am alerted immediately of any type of injury, as babies learning to walk will inevitably get, and they are hugged and loved until they feel better. My daughter was an infant when she started and is now 17 months and I would not even think of changing. Thank you CWA for treating my baby like family!

I wish I could give Child’s World Academy zero stars. I’m still deciding whether or not I should report them to the state of CT.
Things started out well — My son (now 13 months old) started at CWA when he was 8 months old in the infant room. They staff in that room were really wonderful. I was concerned that the room was too small but I figured «How much space do babies really need?» It turns out if the kids don’t have enough space and they’re in really close quarters (no matter how much you clean) they get sick. ALOT.
When my son moved up to the toddler room when he was 12 months old… that’s when the bigger issues started. He was put in a TINY room the size of a walk in closet. There were 3 to 7 other kids in that space with 1 to 2 adults. It was unbelievable. In the beginning I though that maybe they spent a lot of time outside of the room. Not so much. Those kids were squeezed in there basically the whole day.
My son kept coming home with bite marks everyday that the staff knew nothing about. I suspect the room was so claustrophobic that the kids were getting upset and biting each other. I also did not like the lead teacher in that room. I once saw her scoot a child in the door with her foot (I complained, nothing was done about it.) I was also there when this teacher told a toddler to get down from the top of a table. He struggled to get down and fell and hit his head on the floor. (Another complaint, nothing done. I pulled my son out of there less than a week later.) A friend of mine told me that she heard my son’s teacher yelling at the kids when she was dropping her daughter off in the room next door.(This friend has also removed her daughter from CWA)
It was building up to it but in the end I pulled my son out the day that the director called me and said my son had been bitten, again. She then told me she «wouldn’t have called at all except that there might be a bite mark left on his skin.» I was furious.
Bottom line: too crowded, too small of a space, horrible staff, a business that just wants to squeeze more kids in to make an extra dollar… I feel terrible I kept my son in there for even an hour.

We are so happy to have found Child’s World Academy. Our daughter started there when she was 4.5 months old and still loves it today at 2. The teachers are creative, loving, and educated. We are always sad when it’s time for her to move to a new room because we grow so attached to her current teachers, but we quickly find that the new teachers and rooms are just as great. Having peace of mind that your child is happy, safe, and learning while you are at work is invaluable. They recently implemented the Tadpoles program, which sends us pictures and videos of all of the fun activities and moments from the day. We love the updates and that we have an electronic record of her eating, sleeping, and playing each day. CWA is the best!
