Call to place my order for delivery. The person that I spoke with was polite. After 10 min on the phone he tells me the credit card machine is broken, ok no problem. He tells me 45 – 60 min for delivery. A hour and a half later still no pizza. I call back and cancel the order, the same person was kind and apologized even offered me free food. 10 mins later the owner calls yelling at me and being overly aggressive. I explain if you tell me a time frame that’s what I expect. Right? He tried to validate not delivering within the time frame that his worker said. He tries to argue with me an begins aking me about my personal life(all over a mesley $ 40.00). And i tried to be polite and respectfull. Very unprofessional to say the least !!! I have no idea what the food is like but as far as customer service and professional is concerd this place is a JOKE! I would recommend ordering from any other place because theese people do not care about the customers, they only care about the money$$$. Pety, rude, nasty and unethical.

Not quite sure what happened to this place. Moving from Monroe to Newburgh 6 years ago, I always tried, at least a few times a year, when visiting Monroe for any reason, to stop by Big Mike’s for some quality pizza. Up until about a year ago, everything was the same and the food was the same high standard. Then, things started to change. I dropped in there one day after getting a haircut in town, and I noticed(during prime lunch hour) that there were fewer selections of gourmet slices than normal, some of the folks working there had changed, and the normal cheerful owners(who were ALWAYS there) were nowhere to be found. Ordered some slices based on what little was available, and something seemed to be off. They were ok, but not nearly what I had experienced for years. Figured it was perhaps a bad day. A few months passed, and on another day stopping in Monroe, decided to drop in again for lunch. Similar experience. Gone were many of the delicious gourmet pies that set them apart from all the other places in the area, instead the same old regular pie, sicilian, buffalo chicken, and white pie. Seafood pies, chicken parm pies, penne ala vodka pie, none of those cool gourmet slice pies were on display. Their normally zesty, garlicy sauce was bland and uninteresting, and the slice were just average. Again, those friendly owners nowhere to be seen. Fast forward a few months later, and a similar experience. Figured last week, after 2 – 3 months, to give them one more try, and walking in at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon to see this huge pizza display case with 3 generic, old looking pies, and the rest all empty(where in the past anywhere up to a dozen pizzas would be on display) and hardly any customers in the place, I turned and walked out, probably never to return. Instead I went to Marinas in Harriman, which used to be my old standby before I discovered Big Mike’s, and there were the same employees from last time I ate there, easily 8 years ago, serving the same, delicious pizza that they always did. I think I’ve now re-found my favorite pizza joint for when I happen to be visiting Monroe for any reason. Bye Bye Big Mike’s.

Quick delivery, three pies in under 40 min. Pizza was fresh, hot and cooked well. Not undercooked like a lot of other places in the area. Will order from them again when I have a pizza craving in Monroe.

Amazing food but owner has the nastiest attitude I’ve ever been around! Acts like an animal and talks like garbage to people.

There is not a decent pizza in the whole of Warwick, so ALL of my friends and I make regular pilgrimages to Big Mike’s. Great pizza and deep-fried calzones [the only way to cook a calzone IMO]. Pizza is baked to perfection every time… X-tra well done. You want GREAT service… go to some Yuppie Scum restaurant and pay $ 20+ for a pasta dish. Big Mike’s is where it’s at!

Huge portions. Will cook pizza and calzone with whatever combinations ordered. Good salad and sandwiches. Really good and enough r to take home for the next day. Can sit outside and watch traffic or inside. Also a deli with fresh cut meat and cheese. Great food. Good for value. Loved it and will go back !!

Big Mike’s friendly small town atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome to enjoy their NY City style pizza. The food has been great and I’ve always been satisfied. The thing that won me over in a big way was when my wife picked up an order and the young man helped her to the car with the order. Customer service doesn’t get more practical and helpful than that.

Not super impressed with the service. I walked in and the guy was on the phone. Didn’t acknowledge I was there. Another older gentlemen walked in and same thing. He hung up and took his order before mine. It’s the little things about service that separate good from great. Pizza was good. Not amazing but good. I’d go back but there are better pizza places in monroe.

First off: CASHONLY Great food, lived around here for years. Try a specialty slice, hero, or pasta dish; anything really and it’ll be great, except maybe a plain slice.(I prefer thinner pizza when I get it plain; their pizza is quite thick.)

Very nice and clean interior. The slice of pizza and meatball sub I ordered were good. It looks like they have some nice outdoor seating for when it warms up. If I’m in the area I’ll swing back by.

If you wish to try the worlds worst Buffalo Chicken Sandwich Big Mikes has it. Seriously. I ordered this sandwich and what i got was a rubbery piece of grilled chicken dipped in franks red hot placed on a giant sesame roll with something that resembled mozzarella cheese. I called to complain and what i got was«i dont know what to tell you. this is our most popular sandwich.» I can get a better buffalo chicken sandwich at subway.

This was not very good pizza at all. The crust was definitely underdone and the crust and underpart of the pizza tasted like a bagel. The mushrooms that are used are not fresh and are clearly from a can. NY has better to offer than this.

You just have to love a pizza place that serves huge slices, and Big Mike’s is such a place. Their slices, despite their enormous proportions, are always topped with really good ingredients, especially the specialty slices. Buffalo chicken and the eggplant slice are two standouts for me. The ambiance is really nice here, it’s somewhat upscale yet casual at the same time. Plenty of tables if you’re into eating in, but for me, at least in the Harriman area, it’s the best place for a grab-and-go slice or two.

Was looking for a good New York style pizza. The crust was super thick and the pizza was Extremely greasy! It was just a heavy greasy pizza. Would not go back.

This is ridiculously huge. It’s not called Big Mike’s for a reason. One slice could feed 4 children. Food is pretty good. I enjoyed their buffalo chicken salad on my second trip.

Out of all the pizza joints in Monroe, this one is by far my least favorite. Pizza is «ok», but they try too hard in the«specialty» pie genre. They through everything and anything on a pie, then put it in the display case and charge $ 5 per slice. Heros and dinner plates are just as expensive, and just as disappointing. I forgot to mention the table of «regulars»… a bunch of loud, grown men who hang out at the joint all day. Expect a peculiar look from at least one of them when you walk in. You might be drawn to this place by the fancy aesthetics. But please don’t judge a book by its cover. This place isn’t worth it.

We live about two minutes from Big Mike’s, so when we first moved here it was our go-to. I do love the dough they use for the pizza crust and calzones– crispy on the outside, chewy and doughy on the inside, at least when it is fresh. Nowadays it seems that«New York style» pizza just means«pizza assembled in the State of New York,» because by no means does it resemble anything you’ll find in the city… but if you aren’t a NY pizza snob, you will find Big Mike’s dough/cheese/sauce combination quite pleasing. Quality control/inconsistency seems to be an issue… on any given day, a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza will either be fantastic or have the driest, most overcooked, rock-hard bites of chicken I’ve ever had the displeasure of finding in my mouth, complete with the little bits of tendon they neglected to trim from the chicken tenders before cooking. I love(looove) a good calzone with fresh spinach and garlic, but both times I’ve ordered this here it has been borderline inedible– the garlic is never chopped finely(or uniformly!!) enough, so it doesn’t have time to get soft and sweet in the time it takes the calzone to bake. Nothing ruins a good calzone like crunching into a chunk of raw garlic! Finally, they ONLY use canned mushrooms, and that’s just a personal pizza pet peeve. As others have noted, portions are indeed huge, to include the battleship-sized subs.(Once we discovered Little Italy, though, we stopped getting subs anywhere else!) The food is definitely not bad, it’s just not four– or five-star worthy. When I’m hungry and craving a quick slice, Big Mike’s gets my business. When the hubs and I want to order pizza, though, Peppy and Eddy’s wins out(mostly because of the mushroom issue!!). I can’t believe anyone but out-of-towner’s would complain about the service in a cash-only, seat-yourself establishment, but let ‘em gripe. It doesn’t seem to be affecting the restaurant’s bottom line! The staff is friendly and I’m always greeted with a smile.
