The Home Depot

Home Depot corporate reached out to me and explained what I wish the manager at the Monmouth Junction Home Depot store would have a long time ago. They were cheerful and apologetic. I will continue to shop at Home Depot stores.
Unfortunately, I cannot raise the rating for this review as it is tied directly to the store in Monmouth Junction. This update is simply to add additional information to the review.

The WORST customer service ever.
I just called to inquire about their DIY workshops. After being transferred by a very nice women at customer service she told me the person in charge of the workshops would assist me. This really rude bothered women answered. She told me that the workshop that would be held is DIY project, when I asked what specific topic would be covered she replied, its store choice its our choice. when asked what choice would it be. She replied with a tone of exhaustion, «a little bit of everything» after which she finished the conversation with Okkkk. For someone that decides these DIY projects, she seems to be very indecisive and incompetent.

This location is very good, with easy on and off access to Route 1. It’s not a bad store, with lots of stock and tons of variety, however, I wish service was a little better. When I asked about gloss vs semi gloss vs satin, the staff waffled about what that meant. However, after some thought, while I was just about to walk away with no clue, one of them pulls out a sample of gloss and said, ‘semi gloss is less glossy and satin is less glossy.’ Why isn’t there a sample of each type so I can visualize HOW less glossy each is?

I went to the store at South Brunswick, NJ to speak to someone about window installation prices for a condo I am under contract for. I am looking to buy it and currently under contract so I do not own it. There are issues with the windows and six of them need to be replaced. All I wanted was a round about estimate for installation of parts and labor. After speaking with the manager who was on duty (at 3:00pm on ²⁄₂₅) she insisted that I make an appointment for home depot representatives to come and take a look at it even though I don’t own the home. She said I would be able to then call the number (1−800−466−3337) and since I had an appointment booked I would then be able to speak to someone who would then be able to answer my questions. When I finally called the person I spoke with said that she can’t answer that and that she can only help if I wanted to re-​schedule the appointment. It is obvious to me that the manager at South Brunswick just gave me the run around which I do not appreciate. I hope that I know my complaint is being taken seriously. The customers of the South Brunswick, NJ retail store should not be treated this way.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff at this location. I always get what I need.
Also, their gardening section is awesome. They always have the best fruit plants and trees at the beginning of the season.

Just your typical Home Depot. Most go grocery shopping on the last weekend of the Summer… I go charcoal shopping.
Refusing to pay full price for charcoal, i wait for the half price sales on the 40lb, 2 bag Kingsford promo and usually get 120 lbs to tide me over till the next summer.
Service can be a little spotty at this branch however.

Home Depot is a homeowner’s second home. This is based on my first trip to home depot for true home improvements. I was shocked by my lack of knowledge about the home basics and utterly amazed at the expertise of the Home Depot staff. This store is well staffed and very accommodating to their customers. From browsing to pricing, they truly have a tight ship at this Home Depot location. I would certainly recommend this Home Depot.

The best people are working in this store. There is one person by name Rich. He is ammmmaazzzzzing. Works for the customer. Really really helpful. Very knowledgeable person and if he doesnt know something, he will walk that extra mile with you to get your thing done. He saved me and my family about 500 $ with this expert advice. I am sure everyone else is good but Rich is far far away. Thank you Rich.
