Doors Done Right – Garage Doors and Openers

If your garage doors need repair, I would recommend Doors Done Right. Scott responded to my phone call immediately, and two days later he fixed the doors. He explained what needed repair, and gave me several options from which to choose. He was fair and honest, and did excellent work.

We had a new garage door installed on January 29^th. It functions really well and it’s actually pretty. It’s nice pulling into the driveway and looking at it. Scott’s customer service is excellent. He was timely with calls, texts, and emails and upfront about costs and realistic solutions. He helped me understand the different options and made recommendations not based on his potential profit, but on what we actually needed. I’m a big supporter of small businesses and I highly recommend Scott. I think his business is picking up, so if you can be flexible with timing, I would go with Scott.

called Scott for to check my garage door which he, himself fixed last summer, diagnosed it right and fixed it quick. He also smoothened out a little confusion about the warranty issues. All I can say, you seldom can find a company and a business owner who is truly fair, honest and efficient. Added to that, Scott has a nice personality, which I am comfortable with and that’s a plus in my own opinion.

I called them on Tuesday, December 29^th 2015, right before the New Year when my garage door broke and they came right away the next day and fixed everything in under an hour. They came to East Brunswick to fix my problems, so they service quite a large area around the Monmouth Junction region.
They not only fixed the garage door opener, which had its hinge broken off rendering the opener completely useless, but they also fixed the small nitpicky minor things that both my garage doors were having issues with (e.g. the contacts for the light bulbs with the garage doors were broken so that the lights would not work even with new light bulbs – they cleaned it out and made the openers work as if they were brand new; additionally, my doors were closing lopsided so that there were gaps – they fixed that quickly too).
Even though it was cold, they were very patient. If you are willing to keep them company while they solve your problems, they explain their thought process on what they are going to do and why they are going to do it. They answer all your questions thoroughly and patiently in ways you understand so that you can be sure that they are making the right choices and that you are also making the right decisions by going along with their assessment. They are honest in their assessment in how any other contractors you have used in the past may have done a good job or bad job.
They take cash and check always, and credit card only sometimes. I paid by check. I asked them if they wanted the check to be written out to cash or to the owner, they replied «write it to Doors Done Right.» Some people think this may not be important, but this answer tells me that they keep their books straight and are not doing any shady tax-​evasion practices — again, these are good, hardworking, honest people. I really cannot praise them enough – will use them again in the future, albeit hopefully not too soon.

I called Scott the week of Thanksgiving because of an issue my parents were having with their garage door. The door would no longer move when we pressed any of the remotes or wall pad. I told him the issue we were experiencing and he had me try a few things to determine what could possibly be the issue. He provided several different solutions and gave estimates on how much it would potentially cost depending on the alternative.
He gave me a 2 hour window for Saturday on when to expect him. He called to let me know that he would be arriving closer to the end of the two hour window or a little bit late because his job in the morning required additional work than anticipated.
Scott arrived maybe 10 – 15 minutes after the original time window, but I appreciated that he called to let me know he was running late. Before he entered my parents’ home, he asked if we would like him to remove his shoes. I thought this was so courteous of him to ask before entering instead of just assuming that he could wear his shoes inside our home.
Scott inspected the garage door, tracks, wall pad, etc. He then gave us options on how to fix the issue (replace gear track, replace entire unit, etc.). I like how he gave us several options instead of trying to upsell us on having the whole system replaced. We did end up choosing to replace our old system (it was 20+ years old), and he gave us options for what kind of unit we wanted as well. After he installed the unit, it was louder than normal. He tried to tweak a few things and it was still not to what he considered normal. He ended up switching the unit he just installed with a new one which definitely was less noisy than the first. I appreciate that he was honest about the noise level not being normal and took the time to remove the unit he just installed with another one. Instead of trying to just leave it «as is» and make us live with the noise (honestly, we probably wouldn’t have even noticed since our old one was pretty noisy) and avoid having to spend additional time at our home on a Saturday night, he was honest and took the time to make it right to his standards.
Scott was awesome and we highly recommend him to anyone needing work on their garage doors!

Scott replaced my garage doors 1 month ago. I am very picky about who I hire. I took my time and interviewed a lot of companies. I am glad I chose Scott to do the job. Like so many other reviews, i give him 5 stars for good pricing, quality work. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

I’m actually sad that I can’t give Scott more business. If I needed to fix garage doors every month, I’d go to him for all of it. But he ensures his work so ironically, I don’t think I will get to hire him again for a long time to come.
1. Customer Service: He is exactly what I look for when I work with people.
Timely: First he came right in the window of time he allocated to me. After he inspected my garage door, it looked like he would need more time to fix it, so I saw him call and update the customer after me to let them know of this. I overheard him give them the choice of if they still wanted him to come or not. I really like that he’s so mindful of other people’s time. Oh and the window of time given to me was 2 hours. That’s great. I’m used to companies giving you a 5 – 6 hour window and then still coming late. You won’t have to deal with that with Scott. You can still have your day to do things and not be stuck at home all day.
He is honest and upfront: Communicating with him was easy. He was very informative and took time to outline all costs in detail. No hidden fees lol. He gave me multiple options to choose from and never pressured me.
He is kind and respectful: I like and appreciate this most of all. You can’t buy this and I appreciate it every time I encounter it. I love positive, good vibes lol especially when you are paying for something.
Also, for women — I’m a girl and although I don’t live alone, it happened that I was home alone when he came for the services. It didn’t occur to me till I was talking to someone else that I shouldn’t have been alone because, hey you never know. But Scott was completely professional and not at all shady.
2. Quality of service/​product: You can tell that he knows what he is talking about and tries to explain it to you so you can understand it too. That’s the best measure of expertise in my experience. He informed me that he uses top quality equipment and all of the items will be on the invoice for me to check out to make sure they are top notch. He ensures his work for 2 years as well. He said though, I shouldn’t need any fixing for much longer than that.
Also, he saw other things outside of the quoted work that could be improved on and he did it for me, free of charge. That’s just exceptional service right there. He’s honestly trying to help you and not just make money off of you.
3. Pricing: From what I have researched and looked up, his pricing is more than fair. It is probably the best costs you will find, for quality work. Some places will quote you double the cost of his and more.
If you need to fix your garage, choose Scott. You won’t regret it. Or try someone else, regret it and then choose Scott. lol

Our garage door broke, and after an exhaustive search for some one to replace it I found Scott, at Doors Done Right. Not only did he beat everyone else’s quoted price, he was miles ahead of every other company regarding customer service. He is extremely responsive when it comes to phone calls and e-​mails, and answers any questions you have.
When he came out do the install, he got to work right away. He took pride in his work, took his time, and didn’t leave until everything was working perfectly.
I really appreciated his professionalism, and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Doors Done Right to anyone who needs their garage door replace or repaired. He did a great job!

Doors Done Right was FABULOUS! Wonderful customer service and they saved me a lot of money! They replaced my broken garage door opener with a used one they had with them (and only charged for the service call). I would highly recommend this company to any of my friends.

I called them last Friday and explained them the problem I was having with garage door. Scott came over on Saturday and knew the issue right of way. He changed the wire, hinges, roller and springs. Very reasonable priced. I was very satisfied with the work he did and I will highly recommend him for any kind garage door repair or replacing the old door.

So glad we found Scott at Doors Done Right! He was extremely professional, prompt and a pleasure to do business with. He was able to accommodate us with short notice as our garage door was not in good condition and required maintenance before our new tenants moved in.
