The thing about Monmouth beach and their Chinese food take out options are they are very limited. The fact is kings stars food is pretty horrendous. It is only adequate when your hammered drunk. If your like me and prefer your Chinese cuisine sober then don’t waist your time or your money. I have heard some gruesome stories about the cleanliness of this establishment that I will not divulge publicly. A day after sandy they power washed the place out and began to sell whatever food survived the storm. Needless to say kings star isn’t my idea of a nice take out joint.

I buy here every four/​five weeks for a faamily of six. Last week my cost came to $ 50.05. I had a $ 50 and a $ 20. I was dumb-​founded when they asked for my $ 20 and broke it for the 5c. I wont be going back !!! I had no problem with the quality of the food but, this was a bit much.

I keep trying to top this place for take out in the area and nothing really compares. Friendly service, on time deliveries and quick service when ordering at the counter. My kids love the chicken and broccoli, dumplings, and wonton soup. I’ve tried just about everything and it has all been good. Orange Flavored Beef, Egg Rolls, Lo Mein, Hot and Sour, General Tso etc. It is not by far a five star sit down Chinese place, but for local delivery and pickup it’s in my opinion the best in the area.

To start off, maybe I came at the wrong time but took them about 2 minutes to know that i was at the counter. This is fine with me as it’s a chinese take place.
This is my second time here and probably the last. The first time, the food taste good. Not too salty or plain. This time, the food is overly salted and it is so hard to eat. I can’t eat this but I hate to waste food. I am typing this review as I eat. Why? Because food is so bad that I need a distraction to finish!

we live right down the street from King Star and frequently get take out. this is THE BEST takeout Chinese I have ever had. The food is so fresh and delicious! Chinese food can be very sketchy but King Star is always a winner. Get the seasame chicken!

I agree with Justin’s comments. This is definitely one of the better Chinese takeout places in the area and the one I frequent most since its close to my home. I’ve never been disappointed with their cooking and I’m sure you won’t be either.

I’m rating this place vs. other take out Chinese places. …and it kicks their butts. Best Gen Tso’s chicken, and dumplings are outstanding. I actually once happened to come in while picking up my order, to find that the owners were having a family dinner. I got to eat some REAL chinese food with them (snails, duck, hot-​pot) and it was incredible. Bottom line, they really know how to cook, and it translates into their takeout, which for my money is the best in the area.
