Established in 2011.

This Inn & RV park was totally renovated in 2010 & 11 and reopened under new management after being closed for 5 years. It has been very well received and is considered the nicest facility on Smith mountain Lake. The property was the old Campers Paradise.

Tom B.

Business Owner

Tom Buck, General Manager of Halesford Harbour LLC, retired as a Navy Captain in the Supply Corps after a 23-​year career. Tom, a native of Tidewater VA, followed up his Navy career as a successful Real Estate Broker, Developer, and Marina owner at Smith Mountain Lake. Tom’s vision of what is currently SML’s newest and most modern RV Park is a proven showcase of success. Tom is an avid tennis player and boater.

Jim Shauberger, Inn Manager, comes to Halesford Harbour Inn after retiring from SML Regional Chamber of Commerce as Event Manager. Jim has 40 years experience in business, 30 of which was as owner of Jim’s Photo Shack & Scopes & Stuff. He has lived at SML since 2002. Like Tom, Jim was a U.S. Naval Officer on several ships and «saw the world». He loves to swap stories with other vets. He has a BA in Math & Marketing from Oklahoma University and a MBA in Finance from Oklahoma University. Jim has been married to Kay for 42 years and has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.
