Awesome! What a gem in this former mill town. We have eaten in many restaurants around Pittsburgh and this is still our favorite. Would highly recommend the mafalda pasta and crab hoetzel to start. The steak Diane and veal in wine are incredible. The chessy garlic bread is also a must! Great service too. Would go every week if we could!

This place is absolutely amazing! The owners are wonderful and the food is out of this world. I totally recommended the Mafalda. It is unlike anything I have ever tasted before. We had the Steak Diane and Lobster Romano. Just melts in your mouth. Cannot wait to go back.

Worth every penny. The definition of a classic old school restaurant. First time I took my wife here she kept asking me where I was taking her. Monessen has seen better days! Once we had our first glass of wine that all changed. The main dishes are great but for me it is all about the appetizers. The havarti and peppers is to die for. Lump crab… forget about it. The mafalada pasta, nothing else like it. Dont forget to ask for a piece of cheesey bread! Les the owner is a gem and his restaurant is a reflection of his hard work. Put on your Sunday best and treat yourself to a meal like no other in the Pittsburgh area.

Went here last night for the first time in about 9 years. It was perfect then and it’s still perfect now. The Veal N Wine is the best veal I’ve had anywhere. My father had the Veal Parmesan and it was the best he could ever recall having. Highly suggest you start with the peppers and cheese appetizer. Understand they are now open only on Thursday — Saturday nights. Think this is because Les(owner/chef) is now in his 80’s and slowing a little. Get there while you can; it was and still is my favorite restaurant in SWPA.

Very very good food. Reminded me of my grandma’s and great aunts Italian cooking. The sauce is amazing and delightfully sweet. Pretty pricey but worth it for a different place that really cares about the quality of food and service.

I used to work at Luccehesi’s in high school washing dishes but never really sampled the food outside of the mafalda, why eat anything else =) This place is the best! Everything is made to order by Less or Edmond(Les’s Son). Def try the mafalda or crab hozel as an app. The first time two times I was here for dinner I had the Lobster Romano(pictured) and it was out of this world AMAZING! I didn’t want to keep ordering the same thing so the 3rd time I had the Veal and Wine and it was to die for. One thing I can say about this place is you don’t go away hungry and you get your monies worth. You won’t meet better people than Les and Pauline. Les will be sure to sit at the table and tell jokes as he sips coffee or water. Pauline always has a smile from ear to ear. The wait staff is great and very knowledgeable. I’m sure I will be back again, hell I was just there Friday and I am ready to go back again! I can’t say enough good things about Lucchesi’s. Make sure you put it on your list for upscale dining. Be sure to make reservations, they only sit so many people per evening.

Hands down the best restaurant in Southwestern PA. Family owned and operated, it sits quietly in a sleepy steel mill town. The nondescript building will have several high end cars parked outside — when you see them, you’re there. Walk through the doors and you’ll feel like you just walked into an episode of the Sopranos. The place is old school, literally the Rat Pack could resurrect and come walking through the door. There is a dress code: no jeans, no sandals, no sneakers, no kidding. Now the reason you just drove 45 minutes and are breaking out your wrinkle resistant Dockers: the food. Favorites include: roasted red peppers and Havarti cheese, crab hozel, mafalda pasta(order two, one to take home… trust me), Virginia spots, veal with wine sauce, and chicken parm. Honestly everything is amazing, but these are my personal favorites. The wine selection is also fantastic. Don’t be surprised if you find out the people at the next table are in from Chicago because they heard about how good the food is. Also, expect a visit from owner/chef Les — really a wonderful man. And make sure to have desert, his wife Pauline makes them herself and they are amazing. Birthday? New Baby? Anniversary? Graduation? Important business dinner? Your wife burnt the pot roast? Your kid just got their braces off? Find a reason. Seating is very limited and they are open only Thurs. thru Sat. — so call early to book a table. Cash only. Lots of cash. Worth every penny.
