History

Established in 1989.

Jim Bertrand was the in house landscaper and laborer at the tender age of 10 for his grandma’s company Kirsch Builders Supply in Frankfort IL. He earned $ 1 per hour, 3 hours a day, 3 days a week in the summers. I got to busy with landscaping side work, so I had to give my 2 weeks notice to leave that position. At that point in 1989 Bertrand Landscape was established. I worked full time every summer and during school breaks. In 1991 I had my first employee from high school, In 1995 I had my first project manager while I was in college, In 1999 I had my first landscape designer and year around full time foreman whom still works with me to this day! Business Owner

Started landscaping professionally in 1985. He Established Bertrand Landscape in 1989. Graduated Marmion Military Academy in 1994 with a focus in Biology, Graduated Benedictine University in 1999 with a major in Botany and Masters of Science work in Environmental Biology at Governors State University in 2012 – 2014. First published in This Old House in 2011, HGTV in 2015, and 2 major international book publications The Kitchen Bible and The Garden Bible (pg 144 – 151) in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
