The Granite and Marble Depot

We love our new granite counter tops and are VERY happy with our choice of Granite and Marble Depot. This was our first time doing a kitchen renovation and were worried it would be a difficult and over-​budget process so are completely relieved to have had such a great experience. We shopped around quite a bit and found the best price — and service — was at GMD. From the moment we stepped into the showroom and met Sammy, our friendly and helpful design consultant, it was nothing but a very pleasant experience. She patiently answered a lot of questions, returned calls promptly, estimated the job correctly, ordered a special sink for us, and arranged for measurements and installation in a timely manner.
Dale, who came out to take measurements prior to installation, was right on time, professional, and a knowledgeable resource for even more questions.
Mark and Peter, the installers, were also prompt and professional and perfectly installed the new sink and counters.
Our kitchen is gorgeous thanks to the team at GMD!!!

Highly recommend. I have a few friends whose kitchens I just love and Granite and Marble Depot did them both. My Naperville friend worked with their Aurora location and my Flossmoor friend worked with their Mokena location. Both of their granite kitchen countertops are simply stunning. Then while planning my kitchen remodel my designer recommended none other that The Granite and Marble Depot and had me stop in their showroom in Mokena to view their selection. It was tremendous… literally hundreds of colors of granite to choose from… so many more than other countertop and kitchen stores. Fell in love with some stainless open kitchen shelving too after seeing the kitchen on the cover of Chicago Interior Design Magazine… and it was their kitchen.

We have been working on our kitchen renovation since April and were rushing to finish before our son’s graduation party (August). We had priced and talked to 4 companies back in May, GMD being one of them. We goofed and didn’t follow through with our first choice (based on price as they were about 400 – 500 less than GMD) and they were unable to do the job in the time frame we needed. We went to GMD on a Sat, explained our situation to Omar and Claudia, and they were able to work us into their schedule. The measuring man, Enis, took his time and did a very thorough job. I called the office and stopped in to see the layout on the granite. I was always treated nicely, got helpful service (Tracy in the office is another one we worked with), and truly love the final look of the granite. My husband (who is VERY picky) says he feels this install is better than most he has seen.
I would not hesitate to recommend.

I called Granite and Marble Depot after looking at their website which looks quite professional. I called them to have an estimator come out and measure our fireplace surround to give us a quote for granite. I made an appointment with a man named William who sounded very friendly. His schedule seemed really tight so I agreed to leave work early to meet him at my home on a Friday afternoon at 5:30pm.
Friday afternoon at 5:30pm comes around and William is no where to be found. He did not bother to email us, call us or give us any notice at all!
I emailed the company on Friday night and explained the situation. William called me on Monday afternoon apologizing and asked if we could reschedule.
Although skeptical, I decided to reschedule with them on Tuesday afternoon at 5:30pm. Again, I left work early to make sure I was on time to meet him.
Sure enough, 6pm rolls around and he hasn’t arrived. Finally at 6:10pm he rings the doorbell! I open the door and he is smiling and greeting us as if nothing happened!
Wow! I cannot believe that some people seriously have no pride in their jobs! My husband turned him away because if he is that unreliable and clueless then what would my fireplace have looked like after some knucklehead like that installs the granite for it!

We received a flyer in the mail from The Granite & Marble Depot featuring granite countertops starting at $ 35 (sq ft) and decided to check it out. We went to the shop (they had 3 colors at this price) and had them come out to take measurements and give us a price. They also had printed on their flyer «PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE» — which I asked about when we were in the office and met with Omar Chahin (owner). Omar said YES, they will match any price. OK, so we got their price and then got a flyer from Precision Stone with granite at $ 25 (sq ft), had them come to measure, got written price (which was much lower than Omar at The Granite & Marble Depot). I gave competitor’s price to Omar and said «OK, match this price.» Omar said he can’t afford to match that price (despite his written and verbal guarantee). So, this is consumer fraud, right? Don’t bother with Omar and Granite & Marble Depot, call Precision Stone in Schaumburg (312−427−8663) and they will come out with better price.
