This place was amazing!!! Such a great experience and such a lovely staff. i was looking for something fun to do with my overworked husband and video game addicted son, decided to look up ceramics because it was something I did years ago at a place in Midlothian, IL that is no longer there. Googled and found Pots & Paints. What a treat, we found it easily tucked in a strip mall type of complex, and walked into a world of wonderful choices where you could unleash your creativity. The staff easily explained the process and how it works. Pieces can be pricey, BUT it does include everything you need… paints, brushes, tools, etc., and they are very attentive to your needs. It was a relaxing and fun bonding time and in just one week, we were able to pick up our one of a kind pieces that we painted as a family. This is truly fun for all ages. There were several small children painting and creating too and they even have an area for parties! Highly recommend!

A little cramped inside, but a super fun and memorable experience with the kids! Not too expensive, and you create can create the cutest things you’ll cherish forever!

Pots & Paints is a great place to enjoy being creative — at any age. I have now been there several time and loved each experience. You select your pottery piece(decent selection re both styles and price range); then the staff will help you with your paint choices(up to 6 are included in the price). Select your brush(es) and get started. As you paint, you simply«clean» the brush in the provided water dish to switch colors. They recommend painting at least 3 coats to get the best color results. Also, painting colors«light to dark» helps. The staff is friendly and helpful; you simply ask them to refill your paint color tray as you work. Price: The price is labeled on the bottom of each piece. This is «all-included.» Once you have finished painting, you leave your piece with them, pay up front(labeled price on the piece + applicable tax). They write down your name and number, then contact you when your piece is ready(usually about a week, but they do their best to accommodate rush orders — about 3 – 4 days minimum). If you have gone in a group, they do request that one person pick-up the pieces. Overall, the pieces in the $ 10 – 20 range are nice and will fit the interests of a wide age range. I appreciate that Pots & Paints does NOT charge an additional«studio fee.» :o) I have been there with minimum 2 kids and up to 6(age range = 2 thru 9). All have enjoyed the experience. I have also seen grandfathers there with grandkids, families having an outing, and serious artists doing creative projects. It is a lot of fun and a great way to be creative. You can quietly focus on your project or chat with your group while you create.
