Fuller’s Car Wash of Mokena

To whom it may concern:
I brought my Chevy Corvette Convertible for service detail to this business on 5÷28÷16.
I requested the car be hand washed. After paying 285 dollars for the car service they told me there
was a problem and the rear window plastic was pushed through the back of the car & all the stitching was ripped from the soft top.
How does this happen if the car is hand washed?
Service team attempted to re-​attach the rear window using an office stapler to repair the damage they inflicted.
I could not believe they did that almost causing more damage when I advised them to stop and they provided managers business card and told me to call him.
Called owner to report the issue and seek resolution. Owner offered a gift card which I found un-​acceptable. Repair for the damage of my car will be over a thousand dollars and I tried several times to get the owner to pay for the damage done. However, he rejected and said his team said it wasn’t their fault. The owner Michael Fuller stated he advised his team to hand wash the car. His team (could not speak English) subsequently ripped the stiches by applying excessive force to the back window
resulting in the window to be torn from the soft top of my convertible and used an office stapler to try and repair the top which didn’t even come close. I am very
sad they had done this damage to my car and will not fix the damage they caused.
I am hoping the BBB can help make this wrong a right and the fullers car wash acknowledges their negligence.

Just left there after getting the $ 30 detail package. Had to vacuum the car and wipe down the dash as soon as I got home because it didn’t look like anyone touched it. Also had to ask if my car was done because they just left it sitting there running while 5 other guys were working on the car next to it. Won’t be going back

Just went here for an oil change. They ensured that I had to receive a synthetic. Charged me $ 80. Checked my owners manual and it said nothing about required synthetic oil. Thanks Fullers!

These rocket scientists drove my car into the car wash with the driver’s window open ! Didn’t offer a refund, didn’t put a barrier down on the seat, didn’t vacuum the backseat or cargo area or even say sorry ! WTF !!!

Today I took my car for a 8:00 am appointment for the Ultimate detail package. They were to clean the interior and exterior of my Honda CRV for 279.00. When I picked my car up I asked to see the manager because of how the cashier had spoke to me over the phone when I called to check on my car. I informed him that when I called to ask if my car was ready to be picked up, she rudely replied,” I told you it would be ready in 20 minutes”. The manager did apologize and said that the cashier was new. He also offered me a free car wash. I thought okay, no harm. I just want to pay, get my car and go home. I asked them if they had changed the oil and he stopped and looked at the cashier and said, «you didn’t tell me to change the oil». The cashier said,” yes I did”. The manager apologized again and said it was a communication problem between him and the cashier. He said he could have the oil changed qickly if I could only wait a little longer. So, of course I obliged him, and took a sit in the waiting area. While I was waiting, one of the most beautiful things happened. The young lady who was the cashier walked over to me and gave me the most honest and sincerest apology. I was so moved by her humility that I immediately accepted her apology and told her not to worry about it, all was forgiven. Then the manager came back and told me my car was ready and that he was going to give me 20.00 off my bill because of the long wait and poor service. I said thank you and was so happy to be on my way. I paid my bill and started my drive home. Well, it started to rain so I pushed my automatic window button but the window didn’t move. It was evident at this point that Fuller had broke my window. So I immediately turn the car around and headed back to Fuller car wash. When I arrived there I asked for the manger and told him that they had damaged my window. He called a couple of the technicians over and I watched as they tried to get my window working agsin. One gut started hitting the interior of the car door as if that was going to help. The manager came inside and told me the guys were going to take it in the back and try to get it to work on
I was waiting the owner, Michael Fuller walked in. I explained to him that my window was damaged by his staff and he immediately denied that they did anything wrong. He said that sometimes the water or moisture gets inside the door and temporarily damages the automatic window. He said I should wait 2 or 3 days, it would probably dry out and begin working again. I asked him what if my window does not work within 2 to 3 days and he said, «then you have a damaged power switch». I told him, my powered windows were working fine when I brought the car in and that Fuller was responsible for the repair. He immediately stated that he was not paying for the repair. I told him fine, I would just sue him for the repair. He said, «fine go ahead» and arrogantly walked off. Just before I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I noticed that the chicago police medallion that I had on my dashboard was missing. I immediately called the car wash and asked to speak to the owner, Michael Fuller and told him that my madallion had been removed from my car. Mike Fuller then said well I don’t know what to tell you because my guys said they didn’t see it. At this point I’m just worn out and I tell him fine I will just call the police and make out a police report. Once again, he said go ahead and then just hung up the phone. So, I called the police and they met me at the car wash and questioned all of the employees and told me that it was a civil matter and that I could get a copy of the report. So I took the report number and just sat in my car and cried. I felt so helpless. Once I gathered myself, I drove to the gas station for gas and when I pulled the switch for my gas cover to open. guess what? Yep, it didn’t work. I just sat there stunned I was too numb by this entire experience to show any emotion. So I called the car wash again and asked to speak to Mike the owner. I told him I was sitting at the gas station unable to put gas in my car because the gas cover switch was not working. He asked me to bring the car back to the car wash and he would see what he could do. After tugging on it, it finally opened. He then turned to me and said,” you have a bad switch”. I said to him sarcastically, «you’re right, I broke my window and wanted to pay over 400.00 to repair it, and then I stole the police madallion that I have owned for over 14 years out of my car and yes, then I broke my own gas cover switch». He took no responsibility for anything.
WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS HAS BEEN MY WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A BUSINESS THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. PLEASE, IF YOU VALUE YOUR PROPERTY AND SELF RESPECT, PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.

I recently went in to fullers car wash about a month ago to get my ac recharged. They explained they did 2 tests one was 40 $ to see if they could fix the ac and if they could it was 120 $ to fix it. After paying 120 $ my ac stoped working after only 1 and a half weeks. I took my car back in there to see if they could either refund or repair my ac and they told me they couldnt do anything and they are not a full service shop just an oil change shop… why would you offer a service you are unable to do then and refuse to refund your faulty work… hope everyone else choses a different place for this service and any other services.

The 7′ height markers are low on the middle bay in the new lenox new location. It smashed down on my 2014 Ford van. I had the owner measure it with a tape measure. Larry Fuller said, «It’s a little low» after measuring it. It was 6’9″. After his quick look at my van… in the dark. .he said it looks fine. He said if I want to file a complaint to call the police. it’s a shame. I come at least once a week. If I could give a negative review I would. He treated me harshly and was even laughing in the window of his shop when the police arrived to fill out a report .because Fullers does not have a complaint form to fill out I had to call the police.

Um,… just NO. I gave one star only because there isn’t and option for negative stars.

Stay clear of this place!
I’ve been going here for years and have never had a problem with the car washes. Today I brought my 2015 Subaru STI in for a quick wash and am now paying dearly for it. After I got home I walked around just wiping off water marks and noticed a huge scratch on my lower front bumper right on the passenger side.

I went back and asked to speak to the manager and he came out to look at the car. He (Mike Fuller) gave it a quick glimpse and said I must of hit a curb and started to walk off. I told him no way a curb would leave a 6 inch knife thick scratch like that and he just shrugged it off like I was wasting his time. Mind you this car is brand new with under 300 miles on it and mint condition.

As he walked off I asked if they were going to do anything and he said they don’t pay for people hitting curbs. I told him to enjoy the Unilocal review and that must of set him off. He’s like what the **** did you just say. I repeated myself and he started getting aggressive and cursing at me saying nobody cared about Unilocal.I’ve never curbed any of my cars in my 16 years of driving. Now magically one appears right after I bring it here.

Anyways, He’s cursing at me in front of another customer and I told him to check his tone and I wasn’t going to be talked to like that and he’s like what the **** are you going to do? I asked for his name and he gave it me and said he was the owner/​manager like he was the king of the castle. I told them they were going to fix it and he said if I didn’t leave that he’d call the cops.

So much for sticking with a reputable business that I’ve always gone to. Now it’s either 2k at a body shop or a $ 500 deductible and an insurance claim on a brand new car. I wish I would of had problems with my lease car here before bringing in my new car for them to damage. They’ve just lost a customer and hopefully some business. After reading some of the reviews on here it’s apparent that they just don’t care if they damage your car. I’ll never take my car to a place that uses a machine like this. Hand wash only from here on out.

Avoid this place at all costs; unless your willing to have your car repainted. I brought my CTS in there last week for a wash. Within 15 minutes of leaving I found that the back of my trunk was all scratched. This car was one month old and had not a scratch on it. I called and they told me the manager was not in but that he would be in the next day.
When I brought the car in and the manager Mike inspected it; he told me that he could not do anything about it; that I must have set a box on the trunk; which was a lie. He said there was no way his car wash could have made those marks.
CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESN’T EXIST AT THIS BUSINESS!

My previous review was deleted because someone was offended by it – mind you it was accurate but someone didn’t want to see it in print. So here’s my one star with no explanation. This place sucks.

I normally go to (other) Fuller’s when I have an empty gas tank so that I can get the discount on gas with my car wash… thus was a little sad when they said they didn’t have a gas station…
Nonetheless, I was very happy with this location. My car was a m-​e-​s-​s and the cleaner dude was so thorough. He took longer than other cars (b/​c he was doing a good job, and my car was messy) and he apologized! I was like, «dude! you’re doing me the favor!»
Waiting room was clean. Open. Comfy chairs. Nice cashier. You can tip on your credit card (they give you cash that you can give the cleaner dude)
If I lived closer I’d go… but not too often. Those $ 18 washes add up!

Avoid this place at all costs. Seriously, detailing your car all by yourself is worth it, compared to going to this place. The dishonesty, rudeness, and just terrible customer service business practices that I was shown after all evidence pointed to them having scratched up my car when they washed it, was astounding.
***Now, I must admit, this review is some years old. I apparently started it on Unilocal and forgot to finish it, but I figured since Unilocal is reminding me now that I didn’t finish it, why not finish it now? I’d like to think this could all still be very important information for potential customers.***
Years ago, I took my car in to Fuller’s because I needed the interior cleaned, or ‘spiffed’ as they say. My parents had used them a couple times before with decent success, so I thought I’d give it a try. I use my car for real estate clients, so it is important for my car’s interior to look ‘sparkly.’ Plus, my Pug rides in the car a lot and sheds, so I need my car to be vacuumed with a decent vacuum from time to time, which Fuller’s made me pay an extra $ 10 fee to vacuum my car because of the dog hair. There wasn’t THAT much hair, but they told me I’d have to pay extra if I wanted it done.
As I got first got there, I explained to the cashier that I didn’t want the outside of my car washed, just the inside ‘stiffed.’ With the cheapest option being $ 18 to wash the outside, and $ 20 to ‘stiff’ the inside, it adds up fast. I knew I could save like $ 15 by having them just do the inside, and then getting it washed on the outside elsewhere. They clearly know this, as they force you to get the outside washed if you want the inside done too. When you add on the extra $ 10 they charge for the extra vacuum fee, it was $ 50 to get my car done. Not good.
Either way, when my car was done, I inspected it as everyone should. As I was inspecting it, I was shocked to see scratches all over my car. There were some on my hood, some on the roof, and some on the top of the trunk. What made them even more odd were that the scratches were in big circular patterns. I knew the scratches were not there when I gave them the car, and it was clear they happened in the washing process, I walked back in and brought it to their attention. The cashier quickly gave the manager, who immediately came across like a dishonest car salesman type. As I told him what I found on my car, he literally laughed at me, but said he’d take a look at it anyway.
As he came outside, he looked at my car, but said that in his ‘professional opinion’ there was no way it could happen in his car wash. His brushes would not do that he said, and his said the towels they use to dry would never come in contact with anything that could do that. When I asked him what else could possibly cause scratches in that pattern, he blamed it on me. He said I probably put groceries on my trunk/​roof, and moved them around in a circular motion, and scratched my car. He wasn’t going to take responsibility for something I did. My jaw hit the floor. As I went to leave, ready to cry about my very new car being scratched up, I turned my head and noticed the employees drying someone else’s car. They were throwing the towels on the outdoor ground while they were drying. The towels are those micro-​fiber towels that easily put up things, and there were all kinds of small pieces of rock, glass, sand, etc in his parking lot area. I quickly grabbed the manager again, and asked him to explain not only why he lied about the towels, but why they were on the ground, collecting all of the stuff on the ground that could scratch a car. He said it was the first time he ever saw it happen, but said it proved nothing, and that he had no interested in helping me further.
In the end, I left and vowed to never return again, having to get the scratches fixed at my own expense. I don’t know how it could be any clearer that it was their fault, car comes in with no scratches and leaves with scratches in the same shape of the motion they wash/​dry a car, but that wasn’t enough. Clearly, he was prepared, and has probably already said no many times to other people after damaging their cars. Now, I just buy the detailing wipes from the store, and I do it all myself. It’s time consuming, but I know my car won’t be damaged. I’d avoid this place at all costs, but if you find yourself there for any reason, I would take time stamped pictures of your car before you give it to them, and inspect it right away when they are done. If there is damage, you will have pictures right away to prove them wrong.

They lose one star due to the high prices but there no denying the service and quality of work. I usually take my truck here about 4 times a year when I need a deep cleaning and get the «Ultimate Package».

I just washed the car for the 3.00 express and the fullers wash did a great job. I only go if there are not a lot of people here. It was empty and my car is clean. The new car wash sure looks better than the last one.

I love a clean car and am not too eager to do it myself. Neither are many people in the Frankfort /​Mokena area. So, as you can imagine, this place can get pretty busy — especially when the other options in the area are gas station car washes that don’t really get the job done.
Don’t let the lines or the cranky reviews dissuade you from coming here. The car washes are reasonably priced and every employee that I have ever encountered has been very personable and professional.
I have had a deluxe car wash as well as the new express wash. I like both but for different reasons. The express is nice if you don’t want to get out of the car. The deluxe wash is my fave as they will towel dry your car, vaccuum the inside and shine the tires. And when I have been neglecting my car that is not an easy job! Thanks Fullers!

Don’t know who’s bright idea it was to remodel an OK car wash into this crap hole! I wanted to get a quick in and out from their Express wash for 5 bucks. I always get the full service, but I had too much stuff in the car and having them clean inside wouldn’t have worked! As I pull around the corner for their «Express» wash, there were 3 lanes and 5 cars in each lane. What I didn’t know was that the gates do not open when you pick your wash and pay. They don’t even open after 5 minutes! This is a holding pattern for the people paying the real money for a full service wash. For every three cars that went thru from the other side, we would get one. Now I waited 15 minutes to get to the front and thank God I wasn’t in the right lane because they didn’t move at all. I heard some guy screaming on the phone that the line hadn’t moved in over 20 minutes! Then an employee came out and manually lifted the wrong gate! I thought that part was funny as anyone who has ever seen Michael Fuller the manager knows he looks like he just crawled out of under the couch with an empty bottle of gin! So I picked and paid and I pulled my car up to the gate so it was touching the windshield. It worked, because it opened in under a minute. Then I get thru the wash and there are 4 guys standing there. So I start to pull forward as the wash is finished and they have about 3 inches of space between cars. One of the guys starts yelling at me to stop! Really? There is nothing to tell you when to stop and go. So when the wash and the car stopped, I assumed it meant Go! WTH! I am quite sure that this review will mean nothing to the Fullers and unfortunately people have become accustomed to shitty service as we can see by our politicians in this fine state. Mike Fuller for Governor?

I’m a sometimes resident of Mokena and Fuller’s is close. Normally, I get the $ 5 outside because they are atrocious with their vacuuming. Well, this last time was the last straw. In fact, the last three times they didn’t so much clean as they simply dried off the water. My door jambs were dirty, THREE grease stained finger prints and some type of scuff marks on a fairly new car (that rubbed off with my sleeve yet they didn’t clean it). I went back I was so livid and spoke to Mike, clearly a southsider in his approach to (no) customer service. No one raised their voices and we had a chat but he was so condescending and didn’t REclean a filthy car. WTF, man
I’m from AZ and a $ 15.95 car wash gets you a showroom new looking clean (they even use an air compressor to clean out the mirrors and wipers so there’s no water spots when you drive away). Here, $ 16 gets you a simple wipe down. They barely touch the dash and EVERYTHING is an ala carte upsell.
Anyway, back to Mike. I was amped up after the conversation with the guy that I wrote to Walter Fuller. His mail back seemed like he wanted to resolve the problem but that won’t wipe away the piss-​poor way Mike treated me. I’d rather go to the old Turtle Wax location on 159^th (it’s something new now) than to give Fullers my business. Maybe for one’s $ 16 wash one should get a car that’s clean not just soaped up and dried.
FAIL, Fullers. Big, fat FAIL.

After an unfortunate experience at their «Fast Lube,» you would think I learned my lesson. That time, my savvy friends at Fuller forgot to put an oil filter in during an oil change. Apparently, this was super damaging to our car. It took them a very long time to admit that they made a mistake, causing a lot of stressful phone calls back and forth. Guess I was supposed to pull my car over and check their work before leaving the store. Way to stand behind your service!
Despite that GREAT customer service situation, my husband took our car there today for a quick wash. He noticed the signs warning driver’s to remove antennas and such. When he pulled up to the car wash, he specifically asked the attendant if he should remove our XM radio antenna. The attendant told him that it was okay to leave it on. Figuring that these guys have seen these before, my husband wrongly figured that it would be okay. Naturally, the thing went flying off of our car, leaving a gigantic scratch on my car door.
My husband pointed out the problem to the manager, who just shrugged. Had my husband just ignored the signs and never asked the attendant, I would have been just angry with him. But in light of the fact that the attendant said it was okay to keep the antenna on, I was now angry with Fuller’s. When I called to discuss the problem, the manager yelled at me, insinuated that my husband was stupid, and then lied and said that my husband tried to say that every single scratch on the car was caused by this car wash. He then blamed his attendants lack of English proficiency on the situation. Hey, I lived in another country and didn’t speak the language, so I can sympathize with the employee, but seriously? Whatever happened to just apologizing for a mistake? It’s not like I was asking him to buy me a new car.
After spending many long years working in customer service, I know that saying sorry goes a long way. 9 times out of 10, a sincere apology and something about how you «understand their frustration,» can smooth things over. Apparently, the people at Fuller’s haven’t gotten that far in their customer service training. I’ll be looking for a more customer-​oriented car wash now.

Fullers does a great job on my car, the waiting room is comfortable and even has TV playing. I get an interior spiff every once in a while and it is like you have a brand new car. Years ago in another lifetime, I messed up my checkbook badly. Very badly. The bank returned some checks which I spent some days tracking down and making good. When I went to Fullers with my tail between my legs, the manager could not have been more cool. He was like, it happens to all of us, don’t worry about it and didn’t charge me a single fee. I felt bathed in the light of human goodness and compassion so I take my car here whenever it needs a good bath!
Many of the attendants are Hispanic and I am a Spanish teacher so I would love the chance to talk in Spanish with them but sadly there is no need. They do a super job, I tip them and we both go about our day. I like diversity in my world and my car wash unlike some of the other reviewers of this great establishment.
From barfing in the car to just wanting it spiffed up, Fullers is a great place to go.
