Brandon has been training in the martial arts for over 20 years. First, a short time in judo at age 10, and Gojo Ryu Karate at 12. Around 15, he became more interested in the art and enrolled in Chinese Kenpo class, where he stayed for 4 years, reaching brown belt. After that, his interest swung toward kickboxing and grappling.
At age of 22 he found a school offering Chinese martial arts, and became a dedicated student for the next 5 years. It was during this time that Brandon first traveled to China, on a 2 week martial arts tour. It was a life changing experience, giving him a chance to see what authentic Shaolin training was like. Students live at their schools, and train up to 8 or 10 hours every weekday.
Since that time, aside from earning his 2nd degree black belt in Aikido, under sensei Ken Nissan at Aikido of Modesto, Brandon has traveled back to china multiple times, and intends to continue doing so, training with master Zhou Zhong Gong.
