It was time to chop off my long hair. It wasn’t busy when i stepped in. It’s bright and very clean. My stylist was very sweet and I’m very satisfied. Will return!

Looked around on Unilocal to see if there was any good hair salons that could take me in same day for a balayage. This salon caught my eye because I seen they had done a lot of balayage for the clients. Right away I called and they said they could take me and I was told Stacy was going to do my hair.
Walked in and it was a small salon with just 3 girls working. It was slow, which I loved so I had the salon to myself for a little bit. Stacy was very sweet and hands on with what she was doing. Although I did show her a picture of exactly what I wanted, it didn’t come out the way I thought it would. I thought that this session would help take the «brassy» color out, but that wasn’t the case.
I guess you get what you pay for. I don’t think it was the right toner because it didn’t lighten my hair well enough. I asked if I needed a hair cut, and she said it was a must after I get my hair done, but she trimmed only a little and it didn’t make a difference. I felt I needed it cut a little more, but oh well. Over all my experience was good here. The girls are really friendly, I just wish my hair came out the way I wanted. Thanks for the effort.

I’ve recently started going to Stacy, she did an amazing job with my hair. I have super long dark brown hair and she did a really cute light brown balayage with a little blonde. I was so happy with the results, I received so many compliments on my hair. Another thing I love about Stacy is she never see clients in between me she focused on my hair the entire time I’m there. Stacy is fabulous! Definitely going back to her and definitely recommending her.

Just moved to Modesto and I was nervous to find a salon just for a trim and maybe in hopes to find a stylist I can keep. I got my cut by Amanda who did a awesome job asking exactly what I wanted and didn’t disappoint! All of the girls in the salon were very sweet and personable! We even discussed plans of changing my hair color from red to blonde. Which I definitely will be coming back in for in a few weeks. Thanks girls!

Had my hair done by Stacy today she gave me a great cut, plus the experience was wonderful. Highly professional her comb over skills transformed my hair into best comb over in a long time since I moved from Los Angels. She has amazing men’s hair cut down! Thanks modern cuts!

I came here about two weeks ago to get a haircut on a Saturday. The last time I got an actual haircut was when Heather was working here, and she did exactly what I asked and I was extremely pleased. She also took her time cutting my hair because I emphasized that I don’t get haircuts often and that a bad haircut was what I was really afraid of. I don’t get haircuts often but it was time I did because my hair was dead due to the damage from a previous hair color, so I wanted to get rid of all the dead ends so I called in around 4:30 on a Saturday and I asked to make an appointment for he same day and come in at 5:15. So I came in and there weren’t too many stylists, so I got stuck with Stacy, yeah she was nice at first. And I didn’t have a specific style in mind and I just told her that I wanted to get all of the dead ends cut off and I emphasized that I DO NOT WANT A CHOPPY LOOK. And that’s exactly what I got. My haircut looks like absolute shit, looks like I gave scissors to a ten year old without a license to cut my hair. It’s not blended or anything, I could’ve done this crap of a job by myself with my eyes closed. I put so much emphasis on how I did not want my haircut to look choppy, not only did it look choppy but once she was done and showed me, there were stragglers; pieces that were way too long and needed to be cut to match the rest of the length. I asked her to at least fix it three times and after the third time she just took off that gown and didn’t even ask me if I liked it. She just expected me to like it even though it looks like crap. My layers look stupid, and it’s not even blended so everything looks choppy. I think this hands down the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. My hair was also really long, even though it was dead and needed to be cut, I’d rather keep that dead hair than have this shitty haircut. Every girl knows the pain of cutting their long hair really short, it’s not easy. I actually cried when I got home because I hate it so much, and I’ve never cried over my hair ever before, yeah it’s pathetic and it will grow back but the frustration of having to wait for it to grow back is going to be hell in itself. I should’ve read all of the other reviews and see who was highly recommended. I posted a photo as well.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Amanda! I walked in without an appointment today about 12:30pm. I was greeted by Amanda, I signed in and had a seat to wait my turn. I only had to wait a short amount of time, and before I knew it, I was in her chair, trusting her with my look. My hair was down to the middle of my back, and for me, it was time for a change. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and we were off. She washed my hair with a shampoo and conditioner that smelled amazing. She took her time to cut my hair into the shape I was wishing for. Then she used the blow dryer and a round brush to shape my hair into something amazing! We went from hair down to the middle of my back, to just above my shoulders! I absolutly love what she was able to do with my hair, and I will be coming back to Modern Cuts from now on! Also, anyone and everyone who asks, will be pointed in that direction!

I got my cut and color by Natalie like two weeks ago and she did a great job! I love my darker hair. I told her to cut only the split ends off my hair and she did it how I wanted exactly. Last place I went to cut my layers hella short and uneven but she fixed it from looking ratchet lol. I lived in modesto for like ten years and tried so many places I will definitely be back! They have a large selections of hair products too :)

I’m extremely picky when it comes to my hair & I’m straight forward when I dont end up liking it so prayers for whoever is my stylist. Ive been going to the same two stylist for that past 7yrs nearlly 2hrs away but I needed a last min cut & couldn’t do that drive. Made an appmnt, they gave me Heather, sadly, she was running behind only a few min which I really didn’t mind the wait. but obviously they do (tells u alot about the place) & had Angelica take me in. I was about to chop off almost more than half my hair but she saved me from doing that by saving the length & gave me the exact style I usually get with my usual stylist costing half the price. I love it! My new & more affordable stylist as of today.

I love my new cut. I went in wanting to keep my hair long but cut into a mohawk. Heather, with her infinite wisdom, suggested that i do half to start with so i went with it. She did such an amazing job! I love my haircut! She is so thorough and detailed.

Have been getting my hair done her for years. All of the stylists really know their craft and are constantly educating themselves in new fads and styles. The shop is clean well stocked in beauty supply area which by the way is awesome! Not only can I get my hair done I can buy reccomended products to maintain it. Love all the stylists as well. Great staff. I so enjoy coming here these women are not just my stylist now they’re also my friends! I do not understand some of the negative Unilocal reviews on here! I have always had a stellar service!!! Keep up the great work ladies!!!

So I wanted to get highlights for the first time and I had Angelica do my do my hair. I was nervous because I’m real picky but I told her that I’m trusting her… glad I did! My hair turned out amazing! Angelica knows what she is doing! She gained a new client with me! FINALLY COMING BACK! THANKS ANGELICA!
