Marley’s World Smoke Shop and Hookah/Vapor Lounge

Me and my fiancé went to purchase a pipe from this shop. While we were in the store the person who sold it to us even showed how to use the titanium nail with the pipe. He didn’t mention anything about the glass not being able to sustain that temperature or any warning. A couple of days later, after using the pipe successfully, we went to use it again and that’s when it exploded at the part where the nail meets the glass and one of the shards cut my hand between the thumb and pointer finger. I called the store the next day and they informed me that a manager wasn’t present and that they wouldn’t be there until the following morning. I went to the store today and talked to the person who sold it to us and he denied being the one who sold it. He also said, «have you seen the signs around the store ma’am?» like I was an idiot, concerning their no returns or exchanges policy. I explained that I had seen them but that it had broken in literally 2 days. He then told me the manager wasn’t there and that they wouldn’t be there until friday and that there was no one else except him. This business purposely misrepresents the products they sell, there is no remorse or even an ounce of empathy for the customer. I would never recommend this business to anyone.

Been here twice, poor enough experience that I am writing this review. New to this area so I stopped in to look at the newer portable vaporizers I’ve heard and read about. Was greeted by this unhelpful young girl whom informed me that I «need to do more research» on portable vaporizers… great customer service! I was gonna ask about the desktop vaporizers but she actually left into a building next door– the hookah or maybe the barber shop? Doesn’t matter, I left feeling like I wasted my time. I came back another day after deciding to just get a desktop digital vaporizer they had for $ 70. This time the employee informed me that he knew nothing of the old vaporizers except that they had a Storz & Bickel Volcano vaporizer for $ 150… Ok everyone knows this German made desktop vaporizer nicknamed «Bentley of Vaporizers» sells for close to $ 600… at least you only get ripped off for $ 150, great business strategy! This supports my idea that their $ 100 G Pro pen is a cheap Chinese counterfeit. I laughed at the idea and decided to leave. Obviously this «business» makes its profits from hiring cheap low caliber employees and selling counterfeit products, but it doesn’t end there.
On to the hookah lounge. Until now ive had good memories in Turlock hookah lounges like fire Temple and Xhale, excellent welcoming environment in those Lounges and great employees to make your experience top-​notch. So on my way out of the smoke Shop I walked through the hookah lounge and asked the girl behind the bar for a menu or something I could show my girlfriend and our friends later on. She told me they had nothing but that I could take a photograph of the menu. After I did that, I thanked her and made my way out the pitch black hallway to the front door where I nearly ran into somebody else walking in. Before I could walk out an employee dressed up and manicured like «The situation» from Jersey shore actually grabbed my shoulder as if I stole something and demanded I delete the photos. I guess this is a no-​no for hookah lounges in Modesto? No matter, this business left a bad taste in my mouth all three times I tried to check it out, no flavor could fix that.
Simply put, his place gives small business a bad name. Thats too bad for the barber shop built in between, I woulda gave them a chance but i dont feel like finding out how bad their customer service is as well and being stuck with the reminder until I can get a re-​trim.
