So i won a bet with my sister, and the prize was a one year membership to any gym. I have a bad back, and i wanted a gym with a pool. So i googled and in shape Floyd showed up. My sister and i went in and Benny, a employee greated us with a smile. He showed us around like a professional host and didn’t try to sell us a membership, which you will get at most gyms. I like that non-​presure feeling. He made us feel comfortable and at home, and that makes us wanted to join. Benny was so cool with us, we were very appreciative. This gym is great for the price. A gym like this in my home town, SF would be easily over $ 120 a month. They have everything from a steam room to a cycling room for classes. The locker room can be a little bigger, but that’s not a problem. Guess im just being spoiled. I met with some of the trainers and they were professional as well. James was very knowledgeable and cool. He knows how to lose weight, as he lost weight himself. I wish i had the extra money to have him train me. Unfortunately, i dont. Maybe in the future. Over all if you are looking for a good gym to became healthier and stronger, i recommend inshape floyed.

Highly professional and well-​informed, Langston takes the time to explain training principles, nutrition, and best practices. However, and more importantly, he listens to what you need and provides direct and tailored feedback to your specific needs and goals.

James and Langston are the best personal trainers! They are really funny and extremely helpful. They are also really understanding and very great at what they do. Got a free session and loved the way they worked me out!

I would have given them 5 stars except the women’s shower floor and locker area were so very dirty and wet from people coming in from the pool area for several days.
I am currently attending on a free pass (trial basis). I love this place and will probably join, but shower at home or purchase water shoes so that my feet don’t touch the floor.
Parking was easy but I go off peak hours.
Your insurance may pay for you to workout here, it’s called SILVER SNEAKERS. My 76 year old mother is going here as soon as her insurance changes. It has a heated pool and it’s the only way she can exercise.

My husband and I signed up at this location, Chris helped us out. He was super friendly and really helpful in explaining all of the benefits of the different membership packages as well as giving us a thorough tour. Some of the other reviews on here had me a bit nervous to sign up, but I have to say we absolutely have 0 regrets in joining. The staff is wonderful and it’s been an excellent experience so far. My kids look forward to going to the child care as well which is a huge plus!

I am in love with my new gym! Leo signed me up and was super friendly and helpful. Now, I am working with Langston my personal trainer. He is awesome! I have a long way to go before I reach my goal, and working with him, makes me feel like my goal is very acheivalbe. He works me very hard and is very motivating. He is extremely professional and friendly. I am so glad I found this gym. I am excited to be starting my journey towards become the fittest version of myself!

Really nice facility, but my motivation to write this review isn’t the cleanliness of the gym or the updated equipment, but the staff. Shout out to the one buff white guy Chris– really nice and understanding dude. Keep it up!

I want to give a big shout out to Omar, the district manager, fitness manager Bobby, Regional Fitness Manager Josh and club manager Coby. They have all treated us with the highest level of respect I have ever received at any retail establishment. They worked out a great financial deal for us considering we live on a fix income, they treat us like a family member, they show genuine concern that we reach out fitness goals and go above and beyond what I believe to be necessary to make sure that we receive that best service. They have placed us with Jasmine as out fitness trainer and she is the kindest, yet motivational fitness trainer I have ever worked with. If you are looking for a gym to work out in, this is your place. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks to all the employees of this gym for making our workouts the best experiences ever.

While I’m recouping from my earlier workout, I figure i might as well write a review about the gym that has been getting me so many positive comments from people lately. I signed up at this gym a couple of years back (hoping to lose weight) and after going hard for about a month, like a lot of people, l went back to my old habits and would only make the periodic visit to the gym. Fast forward a couple of years and i decided to actually use the membership that I had been paying for. I signed up with a personal trainer named Deejon (I probably spelled his name wrong). After 8 weeks i dropped about 40 lbs and 8 inches. I’m on week 9 and thanks to Deejon for pushing me harder than i would push myself on my own… im still losing weight and also getting stronger. All of the trainers seem to be pretty supportive and friendly. I’ve asked Armando questions regarding nutrition and he’s always been helpful. A lot of the trainers give encouraging words while they are simply passing by.
The gym itself meets my needs. Suffering from shin splints, I pretty much stay away from the treadmill so I’m pleased to say that there have always been enough elipticals available. Plenty of tv’s to keep mind preoccupied while ur doing cardio.
If your ready to get in shape, i say sign up at this gym. If your really serous about getting in shape… get a trainer. I recommend Deejon, but they all seem to collaborate as a team. If your reading this Deejon and i spelled ur name wrong, I’m sure you’ll get back at me with «planks».

My one star is for the lack of attention to the fact that it is way too hot in the Group X room. Management has received complaint after complaint and finally stated that they are required to keep the temperature of the room at 69 degrees. Of course the temperature never reads 69 degrees. I hope In-​Shape takes notice to what customers are requesting and reduce the temperature in that room.

In Shape Floyd overall is a great gym to get your everyday workouts in. As you can see in the pictures listed, it has everything, it’s always clean, and all their machines and weights are up to date. I am now the only person in my family that has a membership here and I’m willing to list a few reasons why. I tried bringing a few friends into in shape to get them going. A friend had a 7 day free pass, we came in and they were basically forced to sit through a 45 minute discussion where they were convinced to purchase a membership before they even utilized the equipment. The point of a 7 day free pass is to experience the gym and decide whether you like it. The employee even had the audacity to ask how far my friend lived so they can go get money. The staff always seems to be a little pushy when it comes to new members and that’s the only downfall. Other than that the gym itself is great, but the employees are the reason a lot of people speak negatively of In Shape.

The gym itself has an mediocre layout. Convenient location minus parking of course. I CAUTION you not to use any auto pay. When I wanted to make any change they say I need to come in person. Go in person waited over hour because only manager can cancel membership.(thank God I wasn’t out of state!) Couldn’t wait any longer had to work so went back after work. Was told manager not available and even if canceled it would still charge account next week it takes 30 period. Totally frustrated after 6 months of trying to cancel only because no time to work out right now. Called next day talked directly to manager who then finally tells me I can call corporate to cancel by phone. Being directed in wrong direction and staff not informed on procedures is the impression they will leave on me.

Ok, so I can see a lot of complaints about parking. Yes it’s a hassle but I don’t believe it’s a reflection on the staff or gym. I get my eyebrows done and my fiancé gets his haircuts in the same shopping center. The parking structure is messed up period. Not In-​Shapes fault.
The staff are nice and pleasant. I’ve never been approached by the personal trainers too sign up for one and I appreciate that. The reason I definitely will come back to this location. the staff that deals with the kids!!! They are super legit!!! My daughter struggled for a little while with me leaving her there. But they made her so comfortable and she really loves the ladies that work there now. I think it’s a plus they hired someone who is going to school to specialize in areas dealing with kids. I don’t know if they specifically looked for that but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! They just could of stuck a glorified babysitter in there but they went above and beyond with that staff. Gym is always clean and classes are fun. Tvs are great and upstairs area is always nice to get a lil privacy when needed.
Side-​note yes the weights and dumbbells can be all over the place and not put away properly. I don’t think that’s the staffs fault at all either. I see staff trying to straighten them up often but I mean come on… it’s people who are to lazy to rerack the weights they use correctly. Like let’s consider how many people they would have to hire to follow every member around to make sure they put them away right. It’s pretty self explanatory.

Even at 4am this gym is a mess. The weight room is always a disaster, many times there isn’t a single weight on the first dumbbell rack. Used towels and half empty bottles of water/​Rockstar will sit in the same place for weeks in the weight room. 90% of the time there are no paper towels in the restrooms. The restrooms are always trashed; toilet paper on the floor, no toilet paper in the dispenser, garbage over flowing, toilets clogged, pool water all over the floor, etc. I’ve had several issues with them (they double charged me, opening the gym an hour late multiple times, rearranging the weight room so that there’s no way to spot on the bench press) and every time I call to speak with a manager they are unavailable and even when I leave a message they NEVER call back. I used to go to the old Mchenry In-​Shape and I never had these problems.

I live in Naraghi lake and I go to their location on Floyd and McHenry instead of here even though it’s just about a mile from my house. So… here are the reasons why…
1) Attitude: the attitude of this gym and the folks who propagate here are more neanderthal than most of the other places here in town. Meathead central…
2) Organization: I’m sure this coincides with the clientele or the management… but if you pull two 25 lb dumbbells… Why can’t you put them back into the marked 25 lb. Space on the rack? It makes no sense. If you want to have to search for equipment… GO HERE!
3) HEAT: I have never been here when it hasn’t been hot and humid here. I believe the humidity leaches over from the pool area… but when you start to sweat before you work out. Seriously, what’s the deal.
I won’t speak to management style other than the fact that they can’t or choose not to monitor and enforce just common organization and structure with their clientele… or maybe their employees.
I go here if I need to work out quickly…

Parking is always a headache and a half (unless you’re there early in the morning, late in the evening, and during the day when everyone that works is working), the staff is uninviting and inattentive (not all the staff members), and there’s always a wait for most equipment you want to use. Oh and make sure there isn’t any blank spots on the contract where they can fill it in later. The gentleman who signed me up for my membership (his name was Rocky and I don’t think he works there anymore) promised me it was just for a year, only to find out it was a three-​year contract. Needless to say, I probably will never sign up for another membership at that location ever again. They get a star from me for being close to home.

You should sign up here if you want to be scammed, get ripped off, almost crash your car every time you park and get harassed in the middle of your workout to sign up with a trainer… For the price you pay I don’t understand all these problems. You should fix them Inshape, below you will find more complaints.

Idk if ill be coming back to this location. I like that it’s really close to a dairy queen. But the staff here seems in there own world and the Guy wouldn’t even let me come in with my water bottle
The atmosphere isn’t quite so comfortable here but the TV’s are real nice.
