Funworks

It was my first time going to Funworks this past weekend, and I went with a group of friends from out of town. I had expected the experience to be a fun one, but it ended up being very frustrating. We had purchased the wristbands for 6 attractions and unlimited bumper boats and golf, and just to start, the prices were very high for what it was.
We had initially wanted to ride the water bumper cars, but when we approached the attraction, the employee Jacob, let us know that it was better to ride other attractions first and then come back to this one because once you are wet you would not be allowed on other rides. So we said okay thanks, and proceeded to go on other rides.
We walked past the main registers and there were at least 5 employees, this is important to how the rest of the night went. We walked over to the indoor bumper cars and we waited with no employee around to start the ride. So we went back to the registers to ask someone to come start the ride, and it took a few minutes after that for anyone to show up.
Afterwards, we went on to play other games and finally around 10:40pm we went to the water ride now that we were ready. When we went up to the gate, Jacob informed us that the ride was closed for the night. We told him that he was the one who said to come back later in the evening to ride, and he said well they were closed. We were confused because FunWorks doesn’t close until midnight. So we went back to the register. We simply asked someone at the counter what time they close the water attraction, and they said at midnight. We informed her that the employee there had told us it was closed. She walkied them and told them to open it up and we started to head over. Meanwhile, the employees behind the counter were whispering about how they had already closed it for the night, while the one who told us to head over said to them that it shouldn’t be.
We headed over to the ride, and in front of us was a group of about 6 young adults who were under the influence. They even stated so as we stood in line. The employees who were managing the ride seemed upset, but we waited in line. The 6 in front of us went on double seats which left 2 more open for us, in addition to 2 that were marked as Out of Order. Conveniently, the 2 that were open BUT NOT MARKED out of order, moved but did not squirt out water. So we asked if we could ride once the first group was finished. Jacob then said that he didn’t think so because he «clocks out at 11 soooo…». We stood in line regardless because there was another employee present at the attraction.
During the first groups ride, the employees watched on. But, as the ride continued, one of the riders decided to hop out of their boat into another. The employees said nothing in regards to the maneuver. Finally, their ride was over and they got out. Jacob had left with the keys to the gate, so we had to wait until he came back for the other employee to open the entrance to the ride. Once he did, the employees talked for about 5 minutes while we waited.
Overall, it was an extremely frustrating experience. I believe that management has to step in more and monitor their employees attitudes and make sure that there are people at every ride to allow people to actually ride what they paid for. Until that is accomplished, I would not recommend for anyone to come here.
Tl;dr High prices. Lack of employees at rides, but plenty chatting. Bad attitudes.

Spent a couple hours there today, below average place. It’s pretty dirty, the line in order to get cards/​wrist bands is ridiculous. You have to get in line for just about everything, even the food court. The «3D» attraction was of very low quality. Prices are too high for place. The batting cage stopped working as we played, then later the go carts had to be refueled, prolonging wait time for those in line. Extremely packed on Sunday’s.

This place is fun when you get bored and want something else to try. It usually does not have many people. The games are okay but the fun part is the outside section (mini-​golf, boats, go carts and batting cages).

Took my family this past Saturday and we loved it! 100x better then Boomers, only downsides are parking and no Go Karts for younger kids to drive on their own

My kids had fun here and we’re not even done… Got soaked on the boat ride here… Tip… GET ONE THAT WORKS!!! we were sitting ducks! Got soaked and nothing we could do about it… Go carts are the best… Lines are not too long… up next mini golf.

Yesterday was my first time at FunWorks. My mother was in town so we decided to take the kids out for a fun day. There was no line when we went in, so that was nice. We had some coupons and asked the girl in front which we should use for the best value. She rolled her eyes as if we were an inconvenience to her. $ 100 later we had some bracelets which were good for only 6 attractions and about 200 tokens. While we were at the front counter we were discussing getting some food before enjoying the day, and even asked the girl where to go, and off we went to the food court. As we were looking at the menu, the «Lead» on duty quite rudely told us if we wanted to order food, we had to go back to where we purchased wristbands because they have no drawer in the mornings. No biggie, but now the line is long and the kids are antsy. This could have been avoided if the girl in front was helpful and told us this when we were purchasing as we told her it was our first visit and were talking about go getting food. After we eat, we go outside, were we wait 30 mins for the water bumpers because no one was on duty. After 5 minutes, we went up front to ask for someone, and still had to wait. Wouldn’t be an issue if the bands weren’t good for only 5 hours. The place isn’t bad, but for the first time, I wasn’t very impressed with the customer service.

This place has great potential. Like many other places in Modesto, it seems to be ok with just a middle of the road place to go. Nothing to give it a «wow factor». We went on a Saturday morning and used a Groupon. Great deal for what we got! For going so early in the morning the place was not clean. The tree house play area (once again great potential) was full of empty garbage presumably from the day before.
The miniature golf is incredibly outdated. How much would it cost for a simple paint job and to fix the bumpers?
I wish places like this in Modesto would go the extra mile. Make the miniature golf place something to be excited about with exciting lanes and extra features.

We bring our boys here for fun & they love it! Specially the Tree play house. They can spend hours in it playing & getting their energy out. Great for rainy days or just for fun! $ 5 for my oldest and $ 1 for my baby :)

I’ve been coming to this place ever since I was about 10 years old, I loved it then for its attractions, arcade games, and atmosphere, and am happy to say that now as an adult I still love it for the same reasons. Now, I have my kids to enjoy it with, and every time I bring them here they spend hours upon hours riding go-​carts, mini golfing, and eating pizza. Usually it would cost an arm and a leg for a family to play all day, but at Funworks everyone can play all day everyday for very affordable prices. I love tons of things about this place, but one of my favorites is the fact that they offer bundles and deals on food, games, and all attractions.

Literally sucked the money out of my pocket (no food just play) for a few hours of fun with my son but he had loads of fun!

Where else fun in Modesto?! Love funworks. We use to have a small one in Turlock but unfortunately it closed down years ago. Love coming here and it definitely pays off to get all you can ride bracelet.

I love Funworks! Every time I go in, there is always a brand new game. They keep it creative and current! The employees are more than willing to help, always. Have had birthday parties here for over 5 years. Also to the people on Unilocal talking about how there isn’t any beer… Umm would you really want drunk people around children?!! I wouldn’t! And would you really want buzzed driving on the go cart track?! Think about it people!!! Also, they are redoing the floor and it looks AMAZING! Props to this local business that is all about the kids.

Hannah and Yesenia helped put on a fun party for my daughter. Yesenia called a couple days before and asked about themes and to make sure my daughter’s name was spelled right. Asked about how many adults and kids, told us to bring our socks to play in the treehouse. She was super helpful with everything, she even let us in 15 min.‘s before opening to let us decorate before everyone came. Because our party started at 10am.
One of the little things that Hannah did for us was put the pizza under the warmer because I thought that the kids would be hungry at 10:30 and no they wanted to play. So she put it under the warmer. A couple times we asked her to take it out so we could get some pieces, she was fast with getting it and putting it back when we were done. I thought the pepperoni and olive pizza was good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy as well.
Glad we had the Groupon deal for the kids that came, everyone had a blast. Can’t wait to come back!

I gave three stars cause the outside play good and pizza but drinks are not so good and don’t serve beer for adults.

We asked how long the go cart ride was and they said 3 – 6 min long and we asked another worker how long and they said every ride is 6 min so we went off and timed how long the go cart ride was and it was only 2 and a half min long. Also it took them 15 min for one boat ride just to get people on and off. We ordered nachos and it took 15 min for them to make sure our coupon was valid. After that we went up after ten min of a wait and asked how much longer. They said we didn’t get a ticket and they looked all over and found it in a trash can. Apparently the machine broke so they had to fix it before resuming. It took at least 20 min to get our food out. Everything seemed to go down hill. My family likes Mark Leonetti as the store manager better. He loved to talk to us and make sure we all had a wonderful time there at fun works. To bad he got laid off.

This is in regards to the snack bar. DO NOT EAT THE PIZZA!
Most disgusting pizza ever. It used to be good. Also we parents spend a fortune here so drink refills should be free.

We usually come for the batting cages. The arcade can be super packed but that’s what you expect from a kids park. Enjoy it here w friendly staff.

I absolutely hate coming to places like this. It’s loud smells bad and expensive but my daughter loves it and I’d do anything for her! Did have an awesome time last night though with my daughter and my friend and her son. Had a huge headache when we left but seeing how much fun the kids had and spending time with my lady makes it all worth it!!! Great people watching too lol! All they need to make it a little easier to handle is beer!!!

Spent 7 $ on mini golf here with a group of friends. It was 11 at night and there were kids on the water. No parents around .
Also the holes were not worth it. So we kept out balls from the last hole, because the last hole takes the balls, and went another nine holes before we left.
Everything else looked way too expensive.
But there’s nothing to do on Stockton so you know how that goes.
