I LOVE this place. A bit pricy, but what grooming place isn’t lol. Ive been bring my two dogs here for over 2 years and every time they look wonderful. Yeyo and Bella love coming here. I totally recommend this place :) (owner of Pomeranian and Maltese)

I have taken my miniature Pom here for over a year. Can’t believe the bad reviews. I guess you would need to try them for yourself. I have been there many times and love the service. I am very particular about the treatment of my dog. I have never found anything wrong with the service and would not question the treatment of my dog. After grooming she looks so cute and walks proud. Never have I heard a cuss word and even one time when I locked my keys in my car with the car running one of the groomers gave me a ride back to my house to get the key.

Took my bullie in for nail clipping and teeth cleaning. Was a little nervous taking her in cause she’s not a social dog. They had to drag her to the back for her wash. Came back and they did awesome with my requests for her. She was well taken care of during her visit. The staff are awesome and very sweet. Loved that everyone there are dog owners and lovers. Would definitely recommend their shop to anyone who wants to groom and pamper your furry child. thanks ladies!

I can’t believe some of the negative reviews on here. I love this place! They are always so friendly and welcoming. I am always so cautious on who I leave my dog with, but here I have no worries. My dog always comes out looking so good from head to paws! There is really no other groomers that I feel can compare & the prices are really reasonable which is always a plus :)

I’ve read some of the negative reviews for Alani’s Paw Spa, and I have to say that my experience there was absolutely fantastic. I took my seven month old Saint Bernard for the bath package, and he came back to me clean, nails clipped, hair trimmed down a bit, and eyes red from a nice nap we woke him up from. He was perfect! Spoiled too because Alani kept giving him treat after treat!
Alani herself is awesome. I’ve read some reviews where people say she’s rude, but I think that they get that confused with chill, straight forward, and down to Earth. She gave me some great advice for grooming my dog such as how to have his fur trimmed if I ever want to take him some place else. She’s super honest and treats you like an equal which I find refreshing. I’ve been working in customer service for a while now, and it’s nice to be able to talk to somebody who isn’t being fake polite/​fake cheery. She was a chill person!
Some reviews I read on Google said that their dog was dehydrated when they picked him up, the nails were bleeding after a clipping, and people were furious at the shop. Granted if they got an inexperienced assistant, that could very well happen. What could also happen is that the dog might just be uncomfortable at the groomers and refuse any water given to them. My dog does that when he’s in an uncomfortable place or out of his routine. He refuses food and water until he adjusts.
In regards to the nail clipping «sabotage», if the dog is writhing and pulling their feet away while the groomer is trying to trim the nails, an accident could very well happen. It’s happened to my dad’s dog. He loses his mind when he’s taken in to get his nails clipped. I took him to Alani’s a year or so ago and left there with blood all over me from him and bite marks on my fingers. I didn’t blame the groomer at all because it was clearly the damn dog’s fault.
Bottom line: Alani took great care of my dog. He’s my baby, and I was nervous, but she knew exactly what she was doing, and I’ll go to her whenever I’m in Modesto with my big boy. Don’t be spooked by the negative reviews! Some people don’t like to admit that their dogs are a pain in the butt at the groomer. Sh*t happens sometimes, but don’t write the person off just for a few negative ranters. Give it a chance and try Alani’s for yourself!

I’m pretty upset. My dogs looked great when I picked them up yesterday. The owner let me and my gf know they knicked my dogs stomach and it was the size of a small rhinestone on the owners fake nail. No it’s not when I got home and tried to take the gauze that is sticking to the hair and flesh of my dog I realized it’s not the size of a fucking jewel its deep. Her nail was also cut to far back and had dried blood. I think If you can’t handle a bunch of dogs in your care you should start seeing a smaller amount each day. What happened to my dog was careless on the spa and they were in a rush. I also work in the industry of beauty not with animals but I can see carelessness very easily. I also hope that animal abuse isn’t going on in this facility by soooo many reviews and what happened to my little girl I believe it and the review by the former employee that used to work there I’m appalled. The owner wasn’t rude to me but I see what is going on here at this establishment. I think this business owner should find a new profession. My dogs also came home extremely thirsty.

Horrible place! Very unprofessional! They’re very rough with animals. I liked this place because of it’s atmosphere, but I took my pets there and they’d cry and were scared, everytime. They’d tremble only when I’d take them to Alani’s.

I have been going to Alani’s Paw Spa since it first opened. I am always warmly greeted by the fabulous owner and her staff. They have been grooming my pugs to perfection since day one! They are very affordable and my dogs love coming here! I highly recommend everyone to bring their pets here if you want affordable and great service!

Melissa is a phenomenal groomer! She really knows her craft! She’s also trained in the latest grooming fads coming out of Japan. We were first introduced to Alani’s Paw Spa through a Groupon deal and she has been grooming our dogs for over three years now. She always does such a terrific job.

Best place in town. My babys always love to come in and have a bath and get there teeth brushed. The never want to come home because of the treats they get. I recommend this pet spa to everyone in modesto and the surrounding areas to bring your babies here. The prices are great and the employees are wounderful with great customer service. This place smells GREAT.

This was My first time going to Alanis. I found this place off of the coupon app, «Yowza!!» And found that there is a coupon for teeth cleaning. Before I went I decided to call to see what they do when they teeth clean the dogs. The lady on the phone said they brush there teeth, floss, mouth rinse, then put some kind of stuff on there teeth so it whitenes there teeth. It sound good to me! She told me if costs 5 dollars.
I then headed out and took my dogs there. My first impression of going in was, cute and petite little place. There were 2 lady’s who were shaving/​cutting the dogs hairs. I then let them know I wanted to get my dogs teeth cleaned & she took my first dog back there and only in not 2 minutes she came back. I said, «it’s already done?» I was kind of sketch how fast it took for her to do all of the teeth brush, floss, mouth rinse, & whitening. Then she took my 2^nd dog and instantly came back maybe even faster then the first! I really wish I could’ve maybe seen what they were doing. Because I honestly felt like they just threw some peppermint spray in my dogs mouth & that’s it. Oh well. If was a good experience overall.

I’ve been taking my mini Yorkie, Lola to Alani’s for the last year or so. My dog is diabetic and has to eat every 3 hours. With every appt I’ve always told them she needed to be done within the 3 hours. Without fail, she’s always been ready before the 3 hours. I’m very happy with their services and Lola is always beautiful with every cut. Alani’s is also located perfect for convenience.

I get my nails done at NT Nails all the time and decided to bring my dog for a bath and the owner very helpful, very professional my dog smell wonderful after it done.

It would have been nice due to close proximity to my house. However, they’re terrible in making good with their appointment. My personal experience with the OWNER was not pleasant. She’s rude and foul mouth. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Such a disappointment. This place only cares about the money that comes in and not about putting your animals first. Who knows how your pet will be treated there??? Don’t waste your time or money on this place. They are unprofessional, unorganized, and the customer service is «so-​so.» The last time I went there, my dogs nails were bloody and she was traumatized. I thought about going back, but after speaking to a few people, I decided against it. Never again!

I was surprised to see some of the reviews on here regarding Alani’s considering that I only use Unilocal when I am exceptionally pleased. I was referred by a friend to the Paw Spa while visiting from San Diego. Reception was courteous and prompt when answering phone and was extremely accommodating scheduling my Roxy in despite my panic rush.
The staff was welcoming, lots of smiling and interaction with myself as well as other patrons and their animals. They were VERY good with Roxy (who is timid). The spa was tidy and organized and smelled wonderful (considering its a pet spa). Roxy looked great, smelled wonderful and was surprisingly hesitant to come back to me from the technician when it was time to go. They made a new friend and a new fan! The service was quality, timely, easy and more than reasonably priced. In fact, I felt a tip was in order.
Should I land in Modesto with my Roxy again, I would not hesitate to return to Alani’s…even just to say thanks again.
