Zea Rotisserie & Grill is a polished, casual restaurant where friends can meet up, share good food and have a great time. Zea is the brainchild of Hans Limburg, Gary Darling, and Greg Reggio. The first location opened in Harahan, LA in June 1997 and now has grown to locations in the Greater New Orleans Area and beyond including Covington, LA; Slidell, LA; Lafayette, LA; Baton Rouge, LA, and Mobile, AL. Zea offers modern comfort food, including signature menu items, such as the Roasted Corn Grits and Thai Ribs.
History
Established in 1997.
In 1997, with the success of the Semolina Restaurant concept under their belts, The Taste Buds launched Zea Rotisserie & Grill. Inspired by the rotisserie cooking found at European food markets, Zea became a polished casual restaurant serving classic American fare infused with mouth-watering international flavors.
Zea’s first location, nestled in the suburban periphery of New Orleans in Harahan, garnered immediate popularity and earned New Orleans Magazine’s «Best New Restaurant» award. Demand for Zea’s unique flavor grew, as did the number of Zea locations. Today, you’ll find Zea throughout the New Orleans metro area, as well as in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama.
