Mobile Bay Adventure Inn

It’s cheap. That’s the best thing I can say. Paid $ 65 for a night. Our room was on the sixth floor and the elevator was broken. The room was filthy — dirty bedding, sticky carpet, hairs still on a stained bath mat in the tub. I felt gross thinking about the things I couldn’t see. The property is run down and dirty.
It’s gated but the gate is non functional. People hanging out outside. Not a great area to begin with. Dark corners in stairwells and non working lights make it seem worse. I was worried about leaving stuff in my trunk that wasn’t needed but didn’t want to make multiple trips up six flights of stairs.
Even $ 65 is too much but I didn’t have much to choose from. This is a place to stay when you have to, it’s not a destination.

The hotel is clean and the rates reasonable (I paid $ 55 walking in with no reservation, and that was with a AAA discount). There’s no breakfast nor is there a refrigerator or microwave in the room. There is plenty of parking (free) and you’re walking distance to where all the downtown action is.
Housekeeping ignored my «do not disturb» sign and knocked on my door at 9:30…“are you checking out or staying?”, then «what time are you checking out?», then «can we pull your linens? — sorry to bother you». I really didn’t care for that.

First let me preface this review with that fact that I include the cost of the motel in the rating. That is, this is not a four star hotel, but a decent motel at a great price (in August at least).
I called ahead of my arrival, and convince the front desk to give me a reduced rate. I paid $ 50/​night instead of the normal rate of $ 60. That made the place cheaper than the Motel 6 that was in a lousy location. This place is walkable to downtown. Not that downtown Mobile is the place to be, but 11 miles away from downtown is the place NOT to be.
The staff is great. The room is ok. Everything worked. It was fairly clean, though there were stains on the carpet. There was a fridge, microwave, and wi-​fi all included in the night. Plus free parking. There was even a pool that some of the children enjoyed.
Bottom line, this is not a Hyatt Resort, but if you are on a tight budget, and need to stay in Mobile for a night or two, this is my recommendation.

My family and I stayed in this Inn the night before we left for a cruise with Carnival Cruiselines. It was cheap, and they allow you to park on the premises and drive you a few blocks away to the port terminal.
That’s nice, but this place is really shabby. You can make it here for one night, but if you don’t mind spending more money, stay somewhere else.
Our A/​C in our room wasn’t working, and there was mold in between the room suite doors. However, the staff was nice.
