If you are reading this then you are either on the freeway where there is some reception or you are already there using the free wifi. Im pretty sure most people were gassing up at the Arco off the freeway and gas station food was just not gonna cut it so you ask the cashier if there are any places to eat around the area. The only place they will tell you is the Muddy River Bar and Grill which is about 100 yards away as soon as you make a right on E Hwy 168. Of course I came in during lunch time around 12:30 on a thursday. Place was packed. People were in line to pay for their food. People were sitting down waiting for their food. Not sure if I was supposed to order where you pay or just sit down. Finally one of the people sitting down told me to sit down and the server will give me a menu. Only problem was that the cashier was also the server. Once she gave me my menu, she told me it was just her until another person came in at 1 pm. Already this was a bad first impression. Who the heck schedules one person during lunch when its really busy? Anyways, just when I thought it was gonna be a while before I get my food, the cashier finally gets done with the line of people paying and takes my order. I decided to get the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich($ 8.49). Comes with your choice of fries, coleslaw, or potato salad. To my surprise, I got my sandwich about 10 minutes later and it was actually pretty good. I chose fries as my side and that was good too. It was one of those beer battered type of fries so it was pretty crispy. While I was eating my sandwich I was going over the menu. Turns out they have plenty of other choices. They serve breakfast from 7 to 11 am. Things like Steak n Eggs and different kinds of omelets. Dinner is served 4 pm to 9 pm. New York and Ribeye Steak are the choices!!! Hmmm… when the heck am I gonna be around these parts around that time? What also caught my eye was their appetizer called Garlic Smacker. Its chicken wings infused with garlic. I love anything garlic. How did I miss that? Definitely getting it next time. Once the other server showed up, everything went smoothly. I got refills on my soda without asking. My check was placed on my table and was promptly picked up and processed. I definitely didnt have to go up to the counter to pay. Overall, my first impression was teetering on 2 stars. Im glad I gave it time to unfold. Now I have a place to go to if for any reason I am in the Moapa area. There is little to no reception around these parts so please put a cell tower somewhere close by so that when people do a search of restaurants in the area, they can discover this place. Cowboy Burger ROCKS!!! Cowboys fill it with egg and bacon for the missed breakfast! We too miss breakfast on our road trip and made for the perfect lunch break out and away from the Vegas hustle and hassle.

I stopped here with some friends on a drive from Vegas to Kanab. It was the perfect lunch layover. We all had burgers, but they had a host of different toppings, which made it easy and fun to customize you lunch. They even had ortega chiles! The fries were out of this world and the zucchini fries were likewise delicious. I’d definitely stop here again if I’m in the area.

We dropped in on a Thursday evening with a group of 8 about 7pm. place was busy but a perfect sized table opened up and was quickly cleared. Decent choice of beers to get started with. The group mostly did burgers, Philly cheese steaks or the taco special which was 3 tacos, one each of beef, pork and fish. Everyone was happy with what they had and the service was good and very friendly. Four stars because the expectations were low but we all were happily surprised by the food and service for our large group.

We were looking for a place to eat lunch before heading to Roos-N-More and, from what we could tell, this was the only restaurant in the Moapa area around the zoo. The place was nice and clean inside and wasn’t busy early afternoon on a Saturday. The shredded beef tacos($ 6.99) were pretty good. The order came with three tacos filled with beef, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. I would have preferred cotija cheese instead of cheddar, but that’s being picky. They doubled up on the tortillas for each taco, so it was almost like eating six tacos with the amount of meat and other stuff that was on the plate. The sliders were ok. Kinda boring. The kid’s chicken fingers were your typical frozen variety and came with fries that were limp. There was only one waitress, but she did a great job serving us and several other parties that came in after we arrived. Not a bad place to grab a bite. I’d gladly come back the next time I’m in the area.

My steak was cooked the way I ordered it and the waitress was very kind. That said, don’t expect anything beyond normal here. I guess I was kind of surprised about the giangtic screen T.V. playing«The View,» but other than that is seems to be just a basic trucker stop. Not bad though, actually probably the best in the area ;)

Found myself in this little town, many miles north of Las Vegas. German biker tourists filled the parking lot. I ordered a fresh brewed ice tea and chili cheese fries with onions. The waitress was pretty and pleasantly sassy. She was very good at her job. My chili cheese fries were pretty good, much better than expected. I would definitely order it again. Big screen tv ‘s with football was a big plus, too. The service was pretty good, and that’s why the 4 stars, I’d eat here again.

Outstanding little diner right off I-15 making your way from Las Vegas to the Utah/Arizona state line. I had a small cup of chili(wished I’d had room for a big bowl of it) and a french dip sandwich. Basic food done extremely, extremely well. And service was outstanding, too. If you’re in the area and ready for a bite to eat, seriously, you don’t need to look any further than Muddy River Bar and Grill. You will be very satisfied.

Cheap beer, great french fries and friendly staff which is everything I look for in a bar located in the middle of no where or damn near close to it. Actually, my buddy and I were impressed on how good these fries were. I have not tried the other items on the menu, but it was all reasonably priced and look forward to trying it out next time I am in the area.

Situated right by Interstate 15, the Muddy River is a quality establishment worth stopping at if you are hungry and looking for some good food on your way to or from Las Vegas. We had the chili burger and chicken wings. Both tasted great. The chili burger really fills you up! Although not the fanciest looking joint, it is clean and the service is very friendly.
