We pulled into the Little Pine Truck Stop, the town’s only gas station on below empty fumes. I’m not sure how they could call this a truck stop, more like two old fashioned mechanical gas pumps in a dirt lot with a shack/shed as the store. lol I got out and looked around and no one was to be found, but the shed door was open, so I started to walk across the street to the store and a lady come running out of the nearby hotel asking if I needed gas, I said yes and she goes back into the shed and turns on the pumps, comes out and asks me how much I want. I tell her $ 50 which at $ 3.19 a gallon should be enough to get me back to Fossil. I look around and see this giant cage next to the pumps and ask the attendant what was in the cage, she goes onto tell me they kept a Bear in the cage at the gas station for the last 10 years but recently had to move him because people were harassing him and making him mean and that her husband had to go in the cage daily and we wouldn’t want that bear mean with him going in everyday, so they brought him home to the ranch where he is much happier. I’m thinking to myself, if you were worried about his happiness you probably shouldn’t have kept him in a giant cage at the gas station for 10 years, I’d be pissed too! lol Oh well I guess you do whatever you need to to attract people to your gas station, however a bear in a giant cage was a first for me. any who, got us ¾ of a tank and was on my way. Thank god for this place otherwise I might still be out of gas on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere!
