Such amazing customer service from Jose that I feel obligated to write my first Unilocal review. Went in for a simple oil change with my young son. Jose understood that I’d like to get in and get out as soon as possible and did his best to accommodate my circumstances. Honest, trustworthy, and very customer service oriented. Will definitely be returning!

Just like Katie M. said… For the first time in my life, I actually trust an auto repair shop!!! I’m far from denial in knowing that my car has its issues and that I’m going to have to put some money into it. Andy, the owner, let me know what needed to be done with some urgency and what could wait a little while longer. I never felt pressured into having work done to my car and his prices, in my opinion were very reasonable. The quality of work that is done here is top notch!
I’ve been to other places and nowhere else I have felt comfort in knowing my car was in good hands and I wasn’t going to have to sell a kidney to pay for the repairs. I have and will continue to recommend South County Auto Repair to friends, family, and co-​workers. If you do nothing else to help yourself out, make sure you put your trust into this place… you won’t be disappointed!

For the first time in my life, I can say that I trust my auto mechanic. After my VW warranty with the dealership expired and I needed a 40,000 mile tune up, I called around and South County Auto Repair was the least expensive option. But that didn’t mean they skimped on quality of service or tried to upsale me on bogus car problems. I also desperately needed a special type of Bosch wiperblade for my VW that Andy was able to order for me the same day, and he gave them to me at nearly his price.
I was also pleasantly surprised that not only will they work around my ignition interlock device, but they actually install and calibrate them there. So after the horrendous experience I’d been having with the other guy (see my review for ACS interlock in Santa Ana), I decided to switch my interlock over to Andy’s garage as well.
He even ran a diagnostic test when my engine light was on, told me it was a small something or other, and fixed the glitch free of charge.
I’m so glad I discovered this little gem of a place, when I actually looked them up to write a Unilocal review I wasn’t surprised that they had 4.5 stars; that’s pretty darn high for an auto repair shop. I continue to take my vehicle here for all oil changes, routine services, and calibrations, and never once have I felt ripped off, time wasted, hassled, or sticker shocked about the cost. I recommend all of my friends, family, and DUI offenders to South County Auto Repair because I am confident that they will be impressed and satisfied with the experience. If you are looking for a new auto mechanic, try South County Auto Repair, you won’t be disappointed.

The management at this location was very accommodating, their work efficient, and had my car ready for pick up when I arrived 30 minutes after the tow truck had dropped it off.
The job I had requested was not a complicated one, and had scheduled with the manager in advanced to arrive early the next day, so adequate planning will always help in the expedience if service.
Nice people, the manager even moved his own car to facilitate my car being towed.
That gesture under some stressing circumstances prompted me to make a Unilocal and write this review

Came back again for my regular oil change. The service here is top notch and my vehicle was ready right when I walked up upon my return. I noticed they even repaired things that they didn’t have to and at no charge. The lock for my camper shell has always been a little sticky. When I went to grab something out of my bed I noticed they sprayed it with lubricant and it works perfectly. They continue to go above and beyond and have a customer for life !

Andy (the owner) is a nice guy and the shop did good work. I just brought my car in for an oil change, but I will be back for my future maintenance. Andy told me my brakes are wearing down but I wouldn’t need to replace them for a few thousand miles. There were no pushy upgrades or anything like that. I’ll definitely be coming back when I do need the brake pads replaced and for my future needs as well.

Honest and trustworthy with great customer service. Couldn’t ask for more. I would recommend this place to anyone I know.

Honesty, Integrity & Character
When was the last time you felt an auto repair place had these qualities?
My wife took her SUV in to have the spark plugs replaced. She has a turbo–
charger and it’s no easy trick changing plugs. Well immediately afterwards a
cylinder began to misfire. They could have said she needed new spark plug wires and/​or a new distributor cap and rotor. But NO! The manager, Jose, looked and found a spark wire cap hadn’t been put on tightly. He apologized and gave her a Free Oil Change. Now don’t you want to do business with a repair shop like this? We certainly do!!!

Good job guys. Jose and his company are good to your costumers specially to my pal Andy and 1 more guy that I forgot the name hehe… anyway these guys are really high knowledge about this job my old car taking care of them. they telling what to do. what your car needs hehe aftermath 2 thumbs up left and right… I really come back next time…

Very friendly service, honest and reliable. They stand behind what they say and what they do. There is no hard sell of you need this or you need that. They really put the customers best interest first.

Just had my oil changed & new tires put on by Andy & Jose. No hard sell here, just good service in a nice looking place. Would highly recommend this place & will definitely be coming back.
