Mission Dental Implant Center: Al Manesh, DMD

***This review is for HOLISTIC-​MINDED PATIENTS and will be updated after I have my implant placed in 5 months. For now, it’s only based on my experience with an extraction and bone graft.*** I gave him 4 Stars instead of 5 Stars because it would have been nice to have been provided with a detailed list of all of the possible options at my first consultation instead of having to figuring it out question by question. I could have made my treatment decisions much more quickly that way. But maybe that’s just me – I like to know all of my options upfront. For some people, that might be too overwhelming. Other than that, my experience was totally 5 STARS! Thank you Dr. Manesh & staff!
What’s a holistic-​minded patient to do when they find out they have an infected tooth that either needs a root canal or needs to be extracted? For me, there was no way I was going to have a root canal, so I started researching my options and decided on a zirconia/​ceramic implant. The next step was to find a doctor who does zirconia (instead of titanium) implants. After doing months of research and consulting with 7 dental professionals, I decided to go with Dr. Manesh and here are some of the reasons why:
1. While not necessarily «holistic» (in my opinion), Dr. Manesh does provide a lot of options that many holistic/​health-​minded patients would have a hard time finding elsewhere. The key is that you have to ASK. These options include synthetic vs. human/​animal bone grafts, and growth factors made from your own blood to speed healing (and he even made a membrane out of the growth factors to cover my extraction site instead of using an animal-​based collagen one). Dr. Manesh is also open to you not taking antibiotics or steroids, and using salt water instead of Peridex for your at home aftercare. You have to own your own treatment though, so for example, if you don’t want to use the fluoride/​triclosan/​SLS toothpaste they provide, then don’t. :) On the other hand, you may be happily surprised to see that he has information and products available for oil pulling.
2. Dr. Manesh is a surgeon, and I knew that I didn’t want to have my regular holistic general dentist do my extraction. I wanted the experience of a surgeon. Furthermore, Dr. Manesh has placed approximately 7,000 implants over the past 20 years. Most general dentists cannot compete with that level of experience. Dr. Manesh also has an i-​CAT scanner in his office, which allows him to quickly get a 3D perspective on your tooth and entire mouth rather than just a 2D image like with a regular X-​ray. This cone beam CT scan showed where the nerve in my lower jaw was located in relation to the tooth that I had the infection in. This allows Dr. Manesh to avoid any possible nerve damage related to the extraction and/​or the implant, and helps with proper placement of the implant.
3. Dr. Manesh and his staff were VERY patient with me and took the time to answer all of my questions (multiple emails, in-​person consultations, phone calls). Even my regular holistic general dentist was losing his patience with me, but Dr. Manesh kept replying and gave me options. This was a big decision for me since I’ve never lost a tooth before, so his patience was something I sincerely appreciated.
So, all that said, it’s been 2 weeks since my extraction and synthetic bone graft, and I’m doing fine. I had the stitches removed today and Dr. Manesh said everything looks good. I won’t lie and say that the recovery was pain-​free, but everything was bearable. As far as the actual procedure went, Dr. Manesh’s surgical skill and experience was evident and I wasn’t worried at all. He had my infected tooth out in 5 minutes or less, cleaned out all the infection, put in the synthetic bone graft material along with the growth factors from my blood, did a few quick stitches, and it was done. I never felt any pain and my neck didn’t even hurt afterwards (like it does in my general dentist’s chair).
If you are in need of a tooth extraction and/​or implant, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Manesh.

I was referred to Dr. Manesh by my dentist whom I trust unequivocally. I was told I needed two implants due to acid reflux and severe teeth grinding… I share this because I am in my early 40’s and not your typical client for teeth implants. I was extremely nervous and worried about this whole process and the procedure. When I entered the office, every single person I met was extremely nice and very accommodating. After having my consult with Dr. Manesh, I met Sandra the office manager who also handles the financials. She did a great job at helping me to understand all the charges and even worked with me and my options. I am now a month out of surgery and still healing, however this WHOLE office was and still is wonderful and very caring. I got very specific details on the pre-​surgery and post-​surgery, along with all the necessary medications needed before the surgery. The surgery was uneventful but I had a lot done — tooth pulled, bone graph and two implants. I had a little trouble afterwards with a tooth shifting causing my bite to be off just a little bit. I called and I was seen right away… the periodontist, Dr. Lilly was very, very, very attentive and after seeing her twice in one week she fixed the problem and adjusted my night guard. I am healing very well. :)
I would highly recommend Dr. Manesh for any type of dental surgery especially implants; he is a very honorable and respectable professional! I have to have one more implant done and I will be returning to him for that procedure. I LOVE everyone in this office; they are all very professional and compassionate, making a nerve racking process very tolerable.

They are a very professional office, and my experience was good. I didn’t want to take antibiotics since I had a bad reaction to them in the past, he didn’t mind, and I didn’t want to take the steroid either, and he didn’t mind, he let me make the decision. The only thing that was a surprise to me was that you have to go somewhere else to get the crown, that wasn’t explained to me, I guess they thought I knew that… now I do! But otherwise very patient and helpful staff!

Dr Manesh and his entire staff are true professionals. The technology used in his office and the procedures are the latest in dental implant innovations.

I was referred to Dr. Manesh by a good friend of mine for an implant and I am so thankful for finding such a caring doctor, specializing in dental implants. Mission Dental Implant Center has a great caring environment with super nice staff and the state of art equipment, and Dr. Manesh is very professional and friendly. I had 3 implants that were painless and I didn’t feel any discomfort throughout the processes. Dr. Manesh is very professional and his work is excellent. Cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Manesh and his staff. A couple weeks ago I had to have a front tooth extracted and implant placed due to trauma to that tooth when I was younger. This was very traumatic to me knowing I was losing my front tooth at such a young age, but Dr. Manesh assured me that at the end of the process it would be good as new. I work in the dental field myself and am very particular with the appearance of my teeth. The surgery with Dr. Manesh went really well and my mouth is healing great. I will definitely be sending my patients that have periodontal needs to Dr. Manesh.

I needed a dental implant to replace a failed root canal that my regular dentist had extracted. I’ve never had a dental implant so I decided to do my research. Being that I have allergies to certain medicines and generically modified foods I wanted an implant that would not be rejected by my body and would best mimic my original tooth. A zirconia implant is what I decided on because it contains no metal, therefore making it a non-​allergic implant. Also, the results I researched on YouTube had minimal swelling, quick recovery and looked great. Most importantly the cost I researched for titanium implants versus zirconia implants were about the same. Finding a dentist that specialized in zirconia implants was not easy, as a matter a fact all dentist where I live tried to talk me out of getting zirconia, simply because it was something they were not trained in or did not provide. Luckily I found Dr. Al Manesh, I was so impressed with his beautiful office, his professional office staff and most importantly with Dr. Al Manesh. He made me feel very comfortable and was very patient and thorough in answering all my questions and concerns. When I left his office I felt reassured I had made the right decision in choosing a zirconia implant and knew I found a very qualified and educated dentist that specialized in zirconia implants to perform my procedure. In my experience, my implant placement was painless, It fused quickly to the bone, my crown was fitted perfectly, color match was precise and most importantly I had no complications. I am very happy with my zirconia implant! I can tell by my experience that Dr. Al Manesh is a perfectionist, who takes great pride in his work and truly cares about what is best for his patients. I am very grateful to Dr. Al Manesh and his office staff for making my experience a positive one.

So, here I am now writing a review myself after scrutinizing the reviews on here before I went in for my procedure.
I had surgery 2 weeks ago for a frontal implant, a tooth that was cracked in an accident needed replacing. It’s probably one of the more dramatic events in a woman’s life since pretty teeth are important to most woman I know.
Everything turned out to be routine but I still had lots of things happening that were out of the ordinary. First I thought the implant was placed to low (don’t think it is now, or was reassured it isn’t since I don’t have my crown on yet) then my prosthetic plate seemed to aggravate the gums on the implant side, then my sutures came out early because I rinsed so much with salt water that the combination of healing and salt water swooshing must have loosened them. Anyhow at every step I was immediately taken in (I live close by) and there was never an attitude that I should just suck it up and not bother them. Once Dr. Manesh called me back on the sunday after surgery because I had a question about what food was safe to eat and if I should leave the plate in or not.
All in all it was very pleasant so far and they surely seem to know what they’re doing.

Five months ago I had my first surgery with Dr. Manesh which was a very difficult surgery that required sinus lifting and replacing 3 Zirconia implants. I’ll never trust anyone’s work but Dr. Manesh’s work. He’s a good man, and a great dentist. Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. His work is excellent, GENIOUS Dentist like Dr. Manesh is rare to find. THANK YOU DR. MANESH !

I went there for a ceramic dental implants in 2012. I had to come back at a later time because they were running behind and then wait some more… By the time he was stitching me up the anesthesia wore off, but I just wanted to get out. The implants were placed too high, they had to be shaved off to place the crowns (inadvisable since it can put microfractures in implant) and the body of the implants is showing, luckily it’s white, but it is still an ugly reminder that I have fake teeth. The price was very good and that is why I drove all way down there. I bled a lot on my way home, not sure why. When I had another implant placed with another dentist I hardly bled at all.
The doctor was pleasant, office and service people are quite nice, at least they were when I came, but I was a bit shocked to see that he only has fluoridated water to drink… I don’t need any extra poison!

My father-​in-​law just received several dental implants from Dr. Manesh. They look great and he he says that they feel fantastic. He asked me to write this review as he is not computer-​savy. He was very happy with his experience and would recommend them to others.

to start with the dr. manesh avoids any detailed questions you may have and wont look you in the eye. then he passes you off to the office manager who really must just work on commission. she just wants you to get on the schedule and pay. last if you have any questions regarding insurance or your bill don’t expect a answer or even a call back. the office is always busy and staff is rude.

I just completed having 10 implants by Dr. Manesh. He is caring, honest and will not rush the process, he checks and double checks. I never waited in the office, they were always ready for my appointments. He calls to check on you after treatments. His staff is great. I’m very happy I picked him for my work.

I went to this place because I had a coupon and everyone told me to be wary because I was getting a dental implant. My experience could not have gone any better. Dr. Manesh is so good and caring! It turns out he recently moved to the area and that is why he is not super busy yet. He is honest also which is a great attribute. I have another tooth that may need to be replaced with an implant and he could have told me to do it but instead he told me to wait as long as I can. So many other dishonest dentists would have said to do it to make their money. The staff is super nice, they’re all great.
