A Terrific Tint

Patrick and his staff were very nice. They did a great job tinting the windows on my wife’s Chevy Equinox. The purpose of the tint job was to protect our new baby girl from the sun. We got a dark tint on all the rear windows and a ‘legal’ tint in the driver and passenger window. Patrick noted that even a his clear tint blocks UV rays and provides a layer of protection better than just the stock glass on the car.
I was really happy with the time he took to explain things for us. During our tint job, Patrick noticed a scratch in the tint. He called to tell us that he found a scratch and that he was going to re-​do the tint job on the rear window to find out whether the scratch was on the glass, or on their tint. It turned out that the scratch was on the window glass and there was nothing he could really do about it. I hardly even notice it, but he was very ‘up front’ and honest about it which gave me a good feeling about the business he runs and his quality.
He also provides a full warranty from the tinting company which can be repaired all over the nation at a certified tint shop. So, if we move and something happens to it, we are covered.
Overall, our experience was great. They scheduled us very quickly and even re-​scheduled when I asked him to do it one day earlier. Highly recommend his shop ¹⁰⁄₁₀. Thanks Patrick and staff!

I was extremely pleased with my service at terrific tint. Besides the fact that they did a wonderful job on my windows, the receptionist was so sweet and they went above and beyond to meet my needs… Definitely recommend them!

The entire team at terrific tint is awesome! I had such a hard time deciding between ceramic and carbon and also couldn’t decide on what color film. Tanzi and Patrick were so patient with me and spent a lot of time explaining everything. My white Audi A6 turned out Beautiful… btw I went with the medium ceramic and it looks great on my white paint with black interior.

Well we just had our 5^th car tinted by these guys and once again, completely satisfied! Super nice people, great service, excellent quality, all at a great value! Went there yesterday, spoke with the owner, Patrick, and asked a bunch of questions about tinting my Infiniti G37S, including — Would there be any gaps in the tint at the top or bottom of the windows (no, my windows are «frameless», so no gaps)?; does the ceramic tint affect AM radio reception which is received by the rear window defroster wires, or the GPS (no, ceramic tint is non-​metallic so it doesn’t effect electronics)? Patrick was very friendly, and spent a lot of time with me, as did one of his technicians.
I made an appointment for 2 days time, but ended up calling the next day, today, and switching to this afternoon. The car was done in time, and I got to look at the work. It’s early days yet, the tint is still wet, and there are normal wet steaks over much of the tint film. These should dry up in 3 to 5 days, probably less, since it gets stifling hot in my garage!
The ceramic tint comes in three shades, Light, Medium and Extra Dark. I got the Medium tint for the driver and passenger doors, and Extra Dark for the tiny rear quarter windows and rear window. My car is black, with a black interior, and its hard to tell that the front windows are any lighter than the rear, it looks very dark! I must admit, it really looks pretty cool! Visibility is still good from the inside, but I’m not 100% convinced that they didn’t use the Extra Dark all around! The car is now in the garage, «curing», so it’s impossible for me to really tell the difference, but I was expecting a fairly significant difference in shade. If they did make a mistake, I know they’ll fix it, but the guy who put it on told me it was Medium and Extra Dark!
So… If you have a black car with a dark interior, and you’re getting the ceramic tint, remember it’ll probably look much darker than you expect — from the outside!
Overall, a positive experience. I’ll update the review in a few days, once the tint is dry and the windows cleaned.
Update: Had to go back after 10 days, as the front passenger window tint had a flaw in the film. They replaced the film without any complaints. It’s 23 days after I originally got the windows tinted, and I’m finally washing my car and cleaning up the residue on both the interior and exterior of the windows. It’ll look very cool! I mentioned earlier that the windows look darker than expected… they do, but I really like them.

I had my car tinted here two years ago and the work still looks great. No bubbling or peeling. I just tinted my new work truck last week and it also turned out great. Just like everybody else they are not perfect and made a tiny little knick in the windshield tint. But like real professionals they notified me of it and we set an appointment for me to come back and have them redo the windshield at no cost. I will also be bringing my mom in to have her vehicle tinted.
In addition the business owner, Patrick, is a veteran like myself. I always prefer to do business with veterans.

I’ve had 7 cars tinted in the past decade and this was my worst experience in terms of workmanship and price. The folks working here are very nice. However, in my opinion, it is definitely not the place to take your luxury vehicle.
I had been referred to A Terrific Tint and decided to use them even though their price was higher and the warranty worse than another business in Costa Mesa that I had used and liked. I guess I just wanted to try something different.
I had purchased a new Audi A6 on a Monday afternoon and had all windows tinted with ceramic tint Wednesday morning. The cost was $ 575 after a 15% discount.
The car was examined in great detail before work started, which I liked. This car was in perfect condition with no scratches or marks anywhere. I’ve done a lot of auto detailing and am very aware of any flaws inside or outside my vehicles. I was very excited to get the windows tinted.
I was a bit shocked when I picked up the car. There were water steaks everywhere outside the car — not just «some» streaking. It was an amazing amount. They did tell me there would be some water streaks and that they would not wipe it because they didn’t want the towels to leave swirl marks in the paint. I was perfectly fine and agreeable with this. It led me to believe they were very aware and careful. However, I’ve never seen a car this dirty after having windows tinted. Ever. Still, it was not a reason for me to be disappointed.
When I started the car, I was warned of a problem with the brake lights. The person working on the car forgot to reconnect the wires to the brake light on the back window. I can imagine if the car didn’t warn me, that I could have driven for months without knowing the light was out.
I drove my car home and examined the windows expecting to see an amazing job that I would be proud of. I saw that on both sides of my trunk there were scuff marks. I wondered what they could have done to put scuff marks on the trunk. This bothered me a bit because I am very picking about maintaining the paint on my vehicles and this car was only 2 days old. These marks would have to be buffed out.
Then I saw a small scratch in the paint under the rear passenger window that appears to have been caused with a razor blade. This really ticked me off because they had no reason to use a razor blade near my car since I was told that all the film was cut with a machine.
I contacted Patrick and had sent pictures of the scuffs and scratch and he asked me to bring the car in and wrote that if they caused the damage he would take care of it. I wondered what criteria he would use to determine they caused the damage. The car was less than 2 days old when they started working on it and we had both examined it beforehand. I would have definitely noticed any flaws in the paint.
I opted to not take the car in because I wouldn’t want them to touch it again. The dirty car was washed and I buffed out the scuff marks but the scratch cannot be removed since it went through the clear coat and the paint.
I washed the car immediately afterwards because the water stains would have been permanently etched into the paint if I left it for a few days, which would have required a complete detailing. I waited the more than the requisite time to wind the windows down or clean them inside.
It has been nearly 4 months now and I’ve been reluctant to write this review because it takes tie and I don’t like to relive bad experiences. However, I think it is important for others to know my experience in case they are particular about their vehicle as am I.
My conclusions are as follows.
Workmanship: poor
Attention to detail: poor
Quality: fair
Guarantee: fair to poor
Price: fair to poor
Please note that this is the most I’ve paid to have windows tinted and is higher than places that do a more professional job. The tint does not cover the entire window (there is a gap where the top of the windows are not tinted). When windows are tinted by a professional, it appears that the window came from the factory «completely» tinted. The warranty is the standard provided by tint manufacturer.
From a distance, the tint looks good. Slight flaws can be seen upon close examination. In fact, there is a slight smudge on one of the rear side windows under the tint which makes it impossible to remove.
I’m not satisfied with the quality but am not yet ready to pay $ 500 plus to have it removed and done by professionals.

This was a first rate, 5 star service experience. Price is about the same no matter where you go. This place is all about service and honest care for you getting the right look. Tinted my A4 perfectly. Highly recommend.

We have had our cars tinted here since 2001. Customer service is outstanding, as is their product. They give you a lifetime warranty as long as you own the car and we have never needed it. Not only does tint look good on a vehicle, but it’s functional. We would never go anywhere else. The owners are great people; friendly and professional. You won’t be disappointed.

Super place. I had my car windows tinted there five years ago, paying for a premium tint that included a lifetime warranty. Fast forward five years, and the rear window film was becoming cloudy and probably would have started bubbling up soon. Fair enough, since the car is outside in the sun all the time.
I went in with my original receipt and warranty registration card a few weeks ago. I admit that I was expecting them to find some BS excuse about how they would not honor the warranty (e.g. somehow my fault, not «really» covered, etc. etc.).
Quite the opposite. They went outside to inspect the vehicle, agreed without dispute that it was covered, and immediately scheduled the full replacement free of charge. The replacement went fine and I can finally see through the window again.
I’m very satisfied with their honesty and happily give them these five stars!

My Circumstances: I brought my vehicle back to have the two front windows re-​done based on their «Lifetime Guarantee Policy». My initial visit was in 2002. Fast forward twelve years to 2014 and the film on both front windows had deteriorated.
Unfortunately, I did not have the original receipt and warranty card. However, I still had a record of my Visa Bank transaction in my files indicating the date and dollar amount of service. The owners gladly acknowledged my paperwork as proof of their prior work.
Bottom Line: The expertise of the tint technicians produced brand new film on my vehicle. I thanked the staff immensely and left as a most satisfied customer. I will gladly be reffering business to Terrific Tint.

What a great place! Both Patrick and Tanzi are beyond nice and very professional. Took their time explaining the different products to me and gave me a great price. I brought in my Kia Soul and they did an AMZAING job. Tanzi even dropped me off at the mall because I didn’t have a ride :).

Very professional and excellent service! I have brought 4 cars (2014 ML, 2009 Expedition, 2014 Escape and 2009 Escape) in the last 5 years to Terrific Tint and was never disappointed. Make an appointment and get lunch next door while you wait. I would not go anywhere else.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this business. Take your business to another location with better reviews.

Got my Audi S4 tinted today and Terrific Tint did a great job at a great price! I’m very picky when it comes to my car and from the second I walked up the place was clean and professional. There’s a new owner than others have posted, Patrick. Patrick was very knowledgable, friendly, patient and accommodating.
When I got there Patrick looked at my car thoroughly for any dings or blemishes that were pre existing. This is the first time a tint shop has ever done this when I have gone and I love that they did this because it shows they would hold themselves accountable if they accidentally messed up my car in some way.
I got 35% installed all the way around. I was told 2 hours and they were right on time. They had multiple people working on it. They were careful with my car, they didn’t place anything on top of my car (I’ve had places in the past who would put things on top of my car, like blow dryers, etc.). The quoted price didn’t go up!
The tint job looks awesome… I highly recommend!
