Description

Specialties

El Mestizo specializes in Traditonal Salvadorean & Mexican Food. El Mestizo also offers many natural fruit refreshments made daily on location.

On Wednesdays & Thursdays, we have Revueltas (Pork, Bean & Cheese) and Bean & Cheese Pupusas for ONLY $ 1!

History

Established in 1999.

Founded by a Salvadorean-American Woman, Irma Vasquez wanted to create a place where families could come and enjoy authentic, cultural flavor and exceptional service.

By combining years of experience in traditional Salvadorean cooking and an awareness for healthy cooking techniques, El Mestizo soon gained a reputation for having unique twists on traditional plates and being a much healthier option for customers (All food cooked with 100% cholesterol-free soy bean cooking oil).

Another great option for the customers, a Freshly squeezed Juice menu! Many combinations available to help you start your day or help you maintain your healthy living. Aside from having many delightful Salvadorean and Mexican dishes, El Mestizo is most famous for its variety of savory, and beautifully crafted, Pupusas. In 2007, El Mestizo Restaurant introduced a 100% vegetarian menu, including many of the house favorites… and yes… many vegetarian Pupasas!

Meet the Business Owner

Irma V.

Business Owner

As an adolesent, she worked as a cook at various restaurants in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Immagrating to the United States in 1980 because of the civil war in her home country, she arrived with the hope to start a new life and raise her family. After years of suggestions from her family and friends to start a restaurant, Irma finally opened El Mestizo in September of 1999. Aside from her wonderful skills in kitchen, Irma creates a loving and welcoming atmosphere that makes every meal feel like Mom’s home cooking.
