I was really looking forward to trying Smokestack but left disappointed. The menu was a bit underwhelming and overpriced given the quality of the food. None of us(group of 4) were«wowed» by our meals.

Please DONOT go here! We should have turned around and walked back out. We walked in to a bar that wasn’t quite sure if it was a sports bar or a night club. The servers sat at the bar and were loud and annoying. The food… Where to start? The fries came from the freezer, chicken was tasteless, the burger was charred beyond recognition, the awesome sauce was just barbecue sauce and neither of us finished our meals even after they recooked my husband’s burger. My favorite part was when I told our waitress the chicken sandwich wasn’t good and she told me she that she didn’t like them either. I’m not sure how anyone gave them more than one star or how this place is still in business. It’s a cool building and has great potential, but this particular business just couldn’t pull it off. Someone call Jon Taffer!

I cannot express how long needed a joint like this is close to downtown Mishawaka. We came to eat here because a long time family friend works here, and I wanted to check it out. My parents have been telling me about how good it is since they often go with my friend’s parents. Since he is a pretty good friend, we’ll start by how great the service was. This is one thing I’ve always liked about having a friend as my waiter because Marty doesn’t skimp on service just because he knows us. A+ Normally, in a place with«Brew» in the name I would go for a beer, but the Bloody Mary looked so good in the photo I saw here that I had to go for that. It was great. My family kept making fun of me for my «salad» in a glass, but it was spicy and had a lot of great toppings. I’m not complaining. Finding a good Bloody Mary is a great thing, always. My family got the steak that was on special that night. Those looked great, but I got the rib basket. There was a lot of sauce, but that is not a bad thing since it was awesome sauce! A little spicy with just the right amount of sweet and tangy. They also have a great beer selection as well as room for a dance floor. I can only imagine this place is a great place to come every night of the week! I hope it’s around to stay because Mishawaka has so much potential.

Have visited this place three times now, love the Monday steak and baked potato special for $ 5.99. Erica and Corrin were great servers, knew the answers pretty well. Wish they had a list of craft beers on the tables. Not knowing and only having it on a chalkboard is a pain. Spring for a beer menu, management! Has live music on weekends, I guess,. Would like to give it a 4 star, but I just can’t… $ 4.50 for a bottle of Bass beer just about cancels out the Monday steak special to me. Other than that, the craft beer prices seem quite good., though I was told the Kona beer was $ 4.50 and then it turned out as $ 6.25 on my bill. Lotta tattoos in the place.

Meeting A friend from another state here. Place is packed for ND/USC weekend and ALL tables are hi-tops. We need seating for a wheelchair. So, the manager got a lo-top out of storage and set it up by the bar. How cool is that? Great burgers and rings, by the way.

Smokestack Brew is a great place to grab a drink with friends and enjoy live music, all while being in a smoke free environment. We need more entertainment spots like this around Mishawaka. I wish I could give 5 stars, but I feel that the menu needs more food options. The Pig on a Stack appetizer was my favorite item that we tried. For my meal I had the Smokestack Grilled Chicken sandwich which I did not enjoy at all. I also tried the Deep Fried Brownie Bites for dessert, but that was just ok. Overall, this place gets 4 stars from me for their atmosphere alone. I will be back, even if it is just for drinks and entertainment.

Have been twice so far. Once during the week, sat outside on their patio. Most recently on a Saturday night for a band. I enjoy their liquor and beer selection! Great options on both spectrum’s, love the Saint Eddy signature drink. Staff is great, bartenders rock and the servers have a great energy and just do… not…stop…moving. Awesome! I enjoy the upstairs area a lot. Being up top and being able to watch everyone dance, the band, the TV’s… it’s a great little hideaway which will bring me back for that specific reason. Drawback, their menu holds nothing interesting for me whatsoever. I’m always hungry but don’t order because the options are limited. And we have often passed by and gone somewhere else to eat. Fried food, burgers. Typical bar food which they probably nail, just not my cup of tea. Although, this last Saturday we went and they busted out a mid-night breakfast buffet and it smelled and looked INCREDIBLE. They were cooking up build your own omelets and you could even pack it in a to-go box on your way out. Genius. I would enjoy coming here for football sundays!

Excellent atmosphere and venue for bands. Menu is small but very, very good food. Definitely worth checking out. No one under 21 which would be nice for lunch crowd. Need an outside patio to be perfect.

We walked in near closing on Saturday and there was a band playing. I was expecting a cover charge but, didn’t get asked to pay up. The band was REALLY loud and their weren’t many people there so it felt like a little much. One server I talked to said that it is usually packed but it was a slow night… still I wish they would have adjusted the volume a little bit. Since we already ate, we didn’t order any food, but we decided to sit at the bar. They have a pretty awesome beer list– lots of variety. We struck up a conversation with the bartender Karissa. She was really cool and took great care of us. I will definitely be back(thanks to Karissa’s awesome service) to try some grub and maybe a cocktail or two :)

Don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation! Their flat stack is not to be missed!!! I have only been for lunch but definitely plan on coming back with my girlfriends for girls night!!! The food was decent. We stayed for the band-The Recent. We couldn’t hear the lead singer at all, not sure what the issue was. The band itself was great. Service –Marty-was really good. We ordered a burger and it was really good. Also ordered a wedge salad– they must not know what that means but it was very fresh iceberg lettuce and was ok. Would come back but won’t pay cover!

Been here 3 times. It’s busy on Fri and Sat nights and there’s a cover charge for the bands. Really? Adiós! Sorry, plenty of places to see these bands free. Not interested in the music. Bloody Mary’s are legit looking. The beef jerky on them is a PC of cut meat you buy at Martins like a bigger slim Jim, not jerky. Spicy pickle, yum. Siracha salt is the bomb!!! Lots of horseradish in the bloody. It’s on the top of the list, def better than Zimmys($ 4.50). Save yourself the trip. The prices for drinks are not listed as another Unilocaler mentioned. A little disturbing. The Bloody is $ 8. We had the Pig on a Stack. The Awesome Sauce is short of awesome, more like blahhhhsome. It’s dead in here. We were the only ones in with the exception of staff at 5:00pm and service is slow as molasses, even sitting at the bar. Not coming back. Wait staff too busy paying attention to each other and goofing off, than us.

S L O W. S E R V I C E this visit… Friendly bar tender that seated us quickly, but that’s where the great service ended I hate to say. After an hour of sitting… We asked for our orders to be boxed up so we could take it home. We both ordered The Stack burgers, but differently cooked. I ordered mine medium… the other medium rare. One was correct… mine was well done. It may be a while until I return. They need to figure their kitchen issues out. See pic…

My husband & I get carry-out from here pretty often, it’s really good. Everyone is friendly when i pick it up, and the food is delicious. It’s in the old 100th Center cinema, and they have the old marquis over the bar. Score one for nostalgia for this long time resident! I will be back, and often.

Really good food! We came on a Sunday afternoon and there were very few tables occupied. Pros — Great food! We ordered the pretzel sticks(a must-try!), the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and the supreme burger with sidewinders. — Friendly service Cons — They need another waitress! The poor woman was sprinting all over the place. — The cook needs a refresher course on what«medium» means. Two people in our party ordered burgers and the waitress informed them that they would be served medium. Our friends were fine with that… but the burgers they were served were definitely well-done. We will definitely be coming back! If I order a burger, I’ll make sure it’s cooked to my liking

Tried Smokestack Brew in the 100 Center, and was duly impressed. They have a fair selection of locally sourced brews, but I’d have to say the food is where they shine. The HogWings are excellent, and don’t really need the bleu cheese sauce they come with(even thought the sauce is very good). The PorkStack burger is really good, as well, and the Fish and Chips had just enough batter, and were flaky and not greasy. Don’t miss the Savory version of the Sweet Potato Fries(with Parm, garlic, and sea salt). Our server(Katie ROCKS!) was very knowledgeable about their offerings, and was spot-on with recommendations and service. And the food prices were very reasonable, although the brew pricing was a bit spendy for the quantity delivered. I’ll be back when in the area.

Clean, open, and inviting atmosphere! Completely in awe of how different it is, and how much hard work went into the remodel! Best staff in town, hands down. Bartenders, cocktail servers, kitchen staff, management, owners, all top notch, as good as it gets. Excellent craft beer on tap and in bottle, all rotating, and constantly bringing in the highly sought after brews, with on-going input from the guests on what they would like to see on tap. Unique cocktails and martinis you can’t find anywhere else. Live entertainment EVERY Friday and Saturday! Simple, yet outstanding menu, with a omelet bar offered on Friday and Saturday late nights, outstanding idea, can’t believe someone hasn’t thought of this sooner. You absolutely have to check this place out.

Smokestack Brew recently opened in the 100 Center and we had the chance to check it out with friends on a recent Sunday afternoon. They did a great job with the remodel and I’m happy to say the place is smoke free! The place is clean and inviting with a great atmosphere for live music. We started off with their Bloody Marys and I have say it was one of the best I’ve had in the area. Great flavor, not too much spice and finished with a unique lime sriracha salt rimmed glass. Our group started with a couple appetizers including the hog wings(super tender in a tasty house-made sauce) and the pretzels with beer cheese. The beer cheese was amazing — I think our table would have eaten it by the bowlful if given the opportunity. Entrees included the pulled pork and Smokestack burger — excellent and definitely house made. This is not a brewery, but they offer a great selection of craft beers and full bar. There is also an upstairs area overlooking the main floor that is available to rent out for private parties. I’ve also heard folks rave about the late night omelet bar on Friday and Saturday nights! Definitely worth checking out and a great addition to the local dining and entertainment scene!
