Heather and Dr. Karp went out of their way to make sure the entire experience fit my lifestyle from consulting with me many times concerning prescriptions to being flexible with my demanding and rigid work schedule. They are both very caring and professional. They made the quick surgery process stress free and simple. I recommend this office often to my friends and coworkers. It’s been less than a month and other than a little expected dryness (bc my eyes were dry before the procedure), I’m ²⁰⁄₂₀ and my life is much improved! Thank you for my vision!

If you’ve decided to get LASIK, this is the place to do it! I debated going through the procedure for years and as most who have it done will tell you, I wish I would have done it sooner. I researched a few different physicians/​offices and even had a consultation scheduled somewhere else, but when I found out about Dr. Karp through LasikPlus and saw his office was at Memorial, I immediately canceled my previous consultation and scheduled it with Dr. Karp. He is an absolute professional; answering any question I had and making sure I was at ease with the procedure. He has a wonderful staff, in particular Heather, who guided me through the whole process and was extremely helpful and pleasant to interact with.
Now the procedure itself… I had it done yesterday Oct 1^st, and I have to admit, it was a bit uncomfortable, absolutely ZERO pain whatsoever, but you’ll feel pressure. I’d say it took a few minutes per eye, with the actual ‘treatment’ lasting seconds. I felt fine when I left, my eyes were just sensitive to the light, but once the anesthesia wore off (within the hour) is when I felt the worst of it. My eyes were burning bad, very watery and felt little sharp pains that felt like little zaps. I struggled to sleep for the first hour, but finally awoke after a good 5hr sleep and felt SO much better! I had the slight glares around light sources but vision was basically the same as if I had my contacts in. I do still have some red hickies on my left eye from the suction, but it’ll clear up soon.
Had my follow up visit today and to my surprise, I was able to read the ²⁰⁄₁₅ line! Incredible after just one day, I can only imagine it’ll get better as my eyes heal and the vision stabilizes.
I know how hard it is to make the decision to get LASIK done, but I assure you that you are in great hands with Dr. Karp. I cannot recommend him and his wonderful staff enough!

I highly recommend visiting Dr. Karp at LasikPlus at Memorial Hospital! Dr. Karp and Heather are an amazing team for the procedure! The entire staff, down to the front desk receptionist are extremely helpful and friendly! During the consultation everything was explained to me as far as what to expect on the day of the procedure. I had the surgery done a week later and I’m extremely pleased with the results! I don’t know why I waited so long to have this procedure done! Dr. Karp ‘s office and operating room facility are very clean and state of the art!

I’ve visited this doctor at least 3x for eye infections due to contacts and annual eye check up– one time I had to see him same day and his staff was able to accomodate me to see him that day… saw Dr. Karp, great impression, he’s extremely professional and explains your condition thoroughly — I did not wait in the room more than 5 minutes to see him, what a great thing to know that there are still doctors out there that respect your time and believe that your time is also important!

If you a considering getting the procedure done this is the best place. They are extremely flexible with the appointments, the staff is great and there are no surprises. They tell you everything upfront for your initial consultation so you already know what to expect before during and after the surgery. My procedure took nine seconds per eye, yes nine seconds. Besides the fact that this office is inside one of the best hospitals ever, As safe as it gets. Before I got the procedure my vision was 1.75, 1.50 now it’s ²⁰⁄₁₅ Dr. Karp and Heather are an amazing duo.
My only regret is not doing it sooner.
