My first experience at the Ovation Dinner Theater. We were greeted at the entrance and shown to our seats for Spectre. The seats are awesome. If I had one minor issue it would be that I wish there was an option for a food ottoman. I kept wanting to prop my feet up. I ordered the steak sliders and while the platting was simple the sliders themselves were good.
I am not sure why I never heard of this theater before but we are planning to go back this Wed to share the experience with other members of the family. The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is the insane little Mens Room Restroom. You really have to use your BroCode in there since your become very intimate with people doing their business. We are fans and for the money that was spent I feel like I got exactly that value back. Side note while it says 21 and over they will actually let children in if accompanied with a parent. And my Child is a teen now. So please use good judgement if you want to bring a younger movie goer with you. The Manager says its not meant to deter children from enjoying the movies with family but that they can’t have kids coming in unattended especially since they serve alcohol inside.

My son and I went to see «The Martian» in 3D in the «Big D» theater this evening. I read reviews about the 3D experience for this particular movie, and that seemed like a good choice. I’ve watched a LOT of 3D movies over the past few years, and I know what to expect (and the limitations of this media). This one was awful. I left the theater 3 times to tell employees that the images were blurry. One offered new glasses. The second one came into the theater with me, and agreed the image was blurry (another patron was complaining of the same issue). It did improve, but throughout the movie, the images were often blurry, and very dark. I went out a third time, and told someone at the concession stand about the problems. Also, some scenes were subtitled, and you could barely read the bottom of the text (blurry/​dark). By the end of the movie, I had a slight headache from trying to focus on the blurry picture. Here’s the worst part… on the way out of the theater, there were two guys standing in the lobby, one in a suit with a Carmike name badge, and the other in the typical theater uniform. I said, «Are you management? I’d like to let you know about an issue…» They guy in the suit didn’t even react, but the other guy nodded, so I continued, and briefly told them about the issues we experienced. No «I’m sorry», or «We’ll work on it». Just, «uh huh» with an «I don’t care» attitude. I won’t be back.

This may have been the worst moving going experience I’ve had. The only reason it gets a star is because the lobby is stunning. But the rest… ooh boy. We went to see a movie last night and there was a power surge resulting in the movie freezing for a bit, then only the sound playing. Eventually the management rewound it, but took us all of the way back to the beginning and made us rewatch what we had already seen. Ay yi yi. But removing that power surge which was due to a storm and not their fault, the experience was still terrible. The exit lights are a horrible neon green and the brightest signs I’ve ever seen. One left a green glow on a quarter of the screen. I saw someone try and talk to an employee about it, but to no avail. The a/​c didn’t appear to be on in the theatre, but sure worked in the lobby. It smelled like a toilet from the hallways all of the way into the theater. The screen was incredibly dim. So much so that you couldn’t see some scenes that were darker in the movie. The only thing I could see well was the Zoolander preview… All of these complaints were consistent before the power surge, so definitely w/​in their control. My husband and I were both shocked at how bad it was, as were the numerous other people trying to complain. Too bad the manager was in hiding. It was really a bummer.

You’d think this was a really nice theater given the location, prices, and décor of the lobby. The actual movie watching experience is terrible though. I’ve seen two movies here and had the same bad experience both times. The screen is so dim you can barely make out what’s going on in the movie. There was a fight scene in Mission Impossible last night in which I couldn’t tell who was punching who. The combination of dim screen and super bright exit lights means that there is a distracting green glow cast over a substantial portion of the screen. The walls between theaters must be very thin because I could hear the movies on either side of us. Again, I was watching Mission Impossible last night a loud movie with no shortage of gunfire, explosions, car crashes, and other loud events. I’ll never come back.

If it were possible to write a 0 star review I would. We entered the theatre into an immediate sweltering heat (in the summer). No ac! Wtf is that? We decided to tough it out, then the previews began and the screen was NOT watchable! It was so dim that the blinding emergency exit signs were brighter than the damn screen. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! GO TO DESTIN COMMONS!

What a disappointment. When they first opened they served great food and had reliable service. Previously the menu contained gourmet items. The newer menu is probably designed to be more accessible.
Tonight we ordered sliders & a ham&cheese. The server attempted to deliver my food to two other tables when I said «I think that’s mine». They next managed to deliver my wife’s sliders to the wrong person. She had to flag down a passing server and point this out. No consideration was issued for the mistake, so by the time her sliders arrived I’d finished eating.
My sandwich was poorly assembled with all the meat clustered in the middle. It was otherwise prepared well (temp/​taste). My wife’s sliders were supposed to have blue cheese. She couldn’t find any. The patties were minuscule compared to the buns.
I hope they’re able to improve on their service & QC as I like the concept. At least the movie didn’t disappoint.

We went to this theater twice on vacation. It was very clean and comfortable. Also I would recommend going on Tuesdays if you are looking for a good deal. They have a couple 2 dollar snacks and you can get 5 dollar tickets.

LOVE the seats! So comfy — especially for those long movies! Only reason for ⁴⁄₅ stars is the lack of restrooms. There’s only 3 stalls in the main bathroom in the lobby… to filter 100s of people through. Doesn’t make much sense. But overall a fantastic theatre

My husband and I checked the dining part of the theater and the prices were ridiculously high! Guess that is what we get for living in a popular Florida place but really? The plate size was the size of a softball and there was like 2 bites and you were done with your food for $ 20…
The seats were very comfortable, service was okay. I suggested getting the bottomless popcorn and eat dinner before.
