We honor the traditions of hand-​woven rugs, the dedication and integrity of the people who create them, and the stunning results of the weavers’ effort. All of our accessories are authentic pieces crafted by artisans. We look for attractive items that have a purpose and we subscribe to the belief that anything created by hand ultimately carries the essence of the human spirit.

History

Established in 1992.

Founded in 1992, The Scarab specializes in handmade oriental area rugs and kilims. We provide custom made rugs from traditional, western, transitional and contemporary designs. The Scarab also offers handmade jewelry, vintage collectibles and up-​cycled merchandise recreated from found objects.

Meet the Business Owner

Larry S.

Business Owner

A connoisseur from the South, Larry’s early love of art in the home spurred a furniture collection that was the envy of his peers. He was drawn to artistry and craftsmanship even before Jane introduced him to hand-​dyed rugs from Turkey.

Larry assisted Jane’s early rug purchasing excursions, helping her buy and sell and co-​founding the business. Since then, he has broadened the rug product lines, built exclusive relationships with interior designers, and established a solid base of customers in Colorado and beyond. He continues to create vision for the company.
