I’ve never had any issues, the prices are usually competitive and the items I go in looking for are always in stock. The employees are nice, although like many of the other comments indicate they could use more of them.
The store itself could use a makeover, which appears that they might be starting (new signs, departments being redone, etc.). If this is the case then it should make it easier to navigate; if not then it would be beneficial to do at some point in the near future. I’ll update my review later on if it appears something is being done.

My husband and I spent 20 minutes looking at dishwashers last night. During that time we were not approached by a single person offering to help us. It’s not like everyone was busy with other customers. We appeared to be the only customers around and we did not even see a salesperson anywhere.

This place is outdated, low lite, and completely missing prospective customers. The outside of the building was falling apart (the sign was barely hanging on the wall) and they had no prices listed anywhere (also, good luck finding an employee, I eventually left because no one was around). Unilocal wouldn’t even let me check-​in (it was probably trying to tell me something, but I don’t follow rules, so…).
If they amp up their game, I’m sure they could again be as popular as they were during 1980 – 1999. Good luck though!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST.
This is a shit show. Placed and order through
for a water softener and install from rdigedale and the order was cancelled due to an error in the system. Reordered it, same thing happened.
told me to call the store so I did… big mistake.
Talked to 5 different people including 2 managers. Apparently no one knows their head from their behind here… terrible. I will say Jill was nice and understanding but she passed the issue off to The manager who could not deliver on said agreement. Worked primarily with The store manager, however tried to speak to The GM… who apparently never works and The store managers boss… or he just can’t deal with customer issues. Ah… don’t we all hate the manager that hides behind his employees when something goes wrong?
So I called the Ridgedale store and ordered the softener again and was guaranteed delivery and install on ⁴⁄₂₄ in the afternoon. Nothing ever showed up. Was charged 3 times for delivery and install. Total was $ 602… was charged that amount 3 times. Totaling over $ 1800. Then almost 4 days later, it was never announced to me I needed a permit. They called me back and told me I needed a permit which was $ 85 for the install permit. Paid that… then I was told my install was going to cost more than 209 that I already paid. I asked how much it would cost. They had no idea. I don’t understand why they say it will cost one thing and then tell you it’s actually going to be more than that… no where on the order does it say that it «replacement» install. Since I don’t currently have a softener… they could not give me an estimate of what plumbing would cost… ok so we keep going with this order. The initial order was on ⁴⁄₁₇ with deliver and install for ⁴⁄₂₄. Order one cancelled and reorder was placed. Order 2 cancelled and reorder placed then order 3 was placed on ⁴⁄₂₂. I need to know if they were still installing it Friday because I had to take PTO which I have 3 weeks total. That’s not a lot. Was promised it would deliver and install on Friday by multiple people. at 2 pm I had not heard anything so I called The store manager… she told me she would call the plumber to find out what was going on. She called me back and said he was at a job and would be coming still that evening and I should get a call in shortly. That call never came… softener never came and I am actually still awaiting that call as of 4÷28… 4 days PAST my guaranteed date.
Lack of follow through, lack on delivery. lack on customer service. I could write more but the experience has much more to it but the truth is… they just don’s care. They won’t give 2 hoots about a bad rating. So Ill conserve my energy… don’t get anything here. I am cancelling my order.

Well another day on the phone with Sears. Jenny can’t get the supervisor because she’s «busy.» Yesterday I talked to four separate people — all of whom refused to get the supervisor because either they were, «busy,» or «there is no need for a supervisor.» When I finely asked to speak to an American they all refuse that. I have had numerous problems with their Mexican and overseas phone workers. Not only do I have difficulty understanding them because of their strong ascents but they also don’t try or know how to help. It is clear that they just want to get you off the phone. Today i checked to see if the Vacuum I ordered is in and they have «no record of it at the store to be picked up. When I called, Jenny suggested, «I just order it again.» I told her it was already paid for with paypal she said it doesn’t show up.
Today I told Jenny that I would not hang up until she go a supervisor because I learned they couldn’t hang up. I got Helga who also suggested I, «just order another.»
When I told both «Jenny» and «Helga» (LOL you don’t get their real name — Yesterday I had a Mike I couldn’t understand), that I had a similar experience when I called on the snow blower I ordered they both said, «there is no record of you ever calling.» So they are able to delete the calls!
I don’t think it is wise for Sears to outsource, I’m so frustrated i will not shop their until they give me an English option for customer service. These were the worst customer service reps I have ever had bar none!

This time I was just looking to change my cell phone provider. Sears has an exclusive contract with one vendor that otherwise is only available online.
Hobbling in on crutches I navigated past the appliance salesman to get to the electronic section.
I find one employee and ask her about cell phones. I let her know that I was/​am with ATT and am looking to reuse my phones and just need a SIM card.
In spite of my being tired and uncomfortable walking with crutches she guides me over to the area where the hardware and software are.
She again asks me if I was with TMobile, which I said no, ATT. I just need new SIM cards. She goes into a long drawn out sales pitch for a new cell phone and I again stated that I just needed the SIM cards, not new phones.
She continued to ask me if I was shopping for a new phone, even after I had in plain English explained to her that I just needed the SIM cards, not new phones.
After the fourth time she finally rang me up and I was able to get the hell out of this Orwellian nightmare.
Sears, if you have to employ sales people, make sure they understand basic English, even if it is American English. This experience was so painful I don’t know if I will ever step foot in this store again.

My mother used to work for Sears back in the day. It used to be so nice. Not so much anymore. However, it does still serve a purpose. They have a wider variety and some higher quality household items than Target and sometimes their specials make it a bit cheaper to shop here.
I came in looking for a new vacuum to be used as a beater appliance for my dad’s house and to replace my vacuum that bit the dust from eating too much dust. It’s only real purpose is to clean up dust, dirt, debris and mouse droppings. It’s also a spider sucker. Arachnophobia ain’t got shit on some of the monsters that have been crawling out of what I’ve been cleaning up.
I originally purchased my Hoover WindTunnel Rewind Upright Vacuum from Target in 2009. It cost about $ 110 and came highly recommended by my friend with children who like to make messes. I loved that vacuum and I fully believe it would have lived a much longer life if I had kept using it normally.
Anyway, they had the same model and the new and improved version of it here at Sears. The newer one is about the same price as what I paid for the older model, but the T1 model was on sale for $ 89.99. We scooped up two of them and were thrilled that they offered 3 and 5 year warantees. My dad is very impressed with it and likes that it works well, is lightweight and relatively quiet.
We also took the time to browse the mens section and shoes. The mens department still looks pretty good but they seemed to be out of a lot of sizes of merchandise and items were on hangers that weren’t labeled properly. The shoes section was a total clusterfuck. Again, they were out of many sizes and a lot of the deals didn’t seem to be all that great. Nothing really caught my eye, so we only ended up with the vacuums and some mens undershirts.

This review focuses more on Sears Protection Service Plans than on Sears itself… but since this is where we bought the appliances and they share the name, they get the blame as well.
When we remodeled out home, we decided to buy all new appliances — full kitchen and laundry room. We reached out to friends and family and they all were pleased with the appliances they got from Sears. We ended up spending ~ $ 6K for all our appliances and have been happy with the purchases. We did get a warranty contract to cover some of the more expensive units. Now that that warranty is coming to an end, the telemarketers at Sear Protection are all over us like a bass on a June bug.
These people are relentless in their telemarketing. Even after telling them a dozen times to never call back, they continue to call every night.
Don’t give these people any personal information if you can help it and don’t get on their marketing lists… you will never hear the end of it.
