Reach for Resources, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help people of all abilities in the Minneapolis metro area to live a full life. We do this by providing individualized services that maximize independence, promote community involvement, and improve physical and mental well-being.
We provide the following supports for individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness: community living services (Waiver, SILS, ILS, and Supported Employment Services); adaptive recreation and inclusion services; and mental health services.
History
Established in 1980.
In 1980, families with loved ones challenged by a wide range of cognitive disabilities created REACH for Resources as a neighborhood support center. As our society was moving away from the widespread institutionalization of people with disabilities, these families sought support services that would increase the self-sufficiency and community inclusion of their loved ones.
REACH became a not-for-profit, 501©(3) organization in 1986. Today, we provide a wide array of direct services to promote independence and a meaningful quality of life for people with cognitive disabilities.
