Great place to stop for lunch or dinner! I had the ribeye with hash browns. It was enough food for three meals! Whoa! Those hash browns are something to write home about! They’ll mix whatever you want in them! I had cheese and mushrooms in mine. Outrageous! Ask the bartender to point out the eagle that perches in the tree on the island outside the window! He said he’s been there for about 6 years! Cool!

Always great burgers & homemade fries, but last time tried rib eye steak dinner. Amazing. First, steak perfectly med-rare as requested. Second, perfect, I mean PERFECT hash brown potatoes as accompaniment. Third, dessert was crème brûlée which I give 9⁄10 only because it had been just made so hadn’t been properly chilled to set up. Can’t wait to return and try another dinner!

We have frequented this place for a number of years. It’s always great. We had our first breakfast on a Sunday in September and I will be back many times in the future. Best breakfast anywhere close to Winona, MN. Well worth the drive and super reasonably priced. Family owned and operated. For some reason the address says Altura but it is right on the river between Kellogg and Winona in the little riverside town of Minnieska. The view itself is worth the drive out of town.

What can I say about the Eagle View? I’ve loved this place for a while now. Location: Right along Hwy 61 in Minneiska, MN, you have to turn off the main highway and take the frontage road about a fifth of a mile and it sits right there overlooking the beautiful Mississippi! You can sit by the window and watch trains and barges pass, or just enjoy the view, there is also outdoor seating available. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is that of a small town sports bar, it’s small, almost divey but not quite, with Football, and Baseball memorabilia all over the walls, there are also beer posters and a pretty big beer stein collection on display on the rafters. There are classic deer-antler chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It’s a good place for family early in the evening. I’ve never been there much later than 8pm so not sure about after that. In the fall you can go here to register your deer kill during hunting season, you can also buy hunting/fishing licenses here. Service: The service is friendly and welcoming, I wouldn’t go so far as to say great, but it’s what you would expect for a place like this, never had a «bad» experience with the serving staff. Food: The crown jewel of The Eagle View is the food. Great burgers, fixed in a variety of ways, all of them named for towns in the surrounding area [Try the Hammond w/jalapenos for a kick]. All burgers come in ¼ or ½ pound sizes, the ½ pound burger is big but it’s nothing you can’t handle. Sandwiches are also excellent, and the fries are the best in the business; you can order fries in ½ or whole order, a whole order is plenty for 2 people. You also have to order their onion rings, also ½ or whole order, we usually get a whole order of fries and a whole order of onion rings and our family of 5 shares both! If you like burger places you will love The Eagle View!
