Description

Specialties

The Aviary is a boutique fitness studio in Northeast Minneapolis offering full body workouts and yoga using aerial hammocks that hang a couple feet off the ground. These workouts can be as challenging as you are willing to push yourself since you use your own body weight and gravity to add intensity. We believe workouts should be fun so in every class we teach a handful of basic aerial poses and inversions. Absolutely no experience is required for our classes, they are designed to be appropriate for everyone. Sign up for a new client class and use Promo Code yelp! to get a special price just for Yelp users. We also host private parties for bachelorette, bridal and girls night out parties.

History

Established in 2015.

When was the last time you laughed, giggled or smiled during your workout? Change up your fitness routine and try something new. The Aviary is the first aerial fitness studio in the Twin Cities offering full-body workouts using aerial hammocks. We fuse elements of aerial arts and circus with traditional fitness exercises to provide an amazing workout that is fun to do. We are on ClassPass stop by if you are a member either locally or from out of town!

Meet the Business Owner

Christine L.

Business Owner

Christine has practiced aerial arts (i.e. silks, trapeze, rope and lyra) for six years as a way to stay fit and have fun. The benefit of practicing aerial arts was a tremendous gain in confidence, courage and strength. The Aviary was born from a desire to share the physical and mental benefits from practicing aerial arts with everyone. Knowing that most people are not interested in a workout 30 feet off the ground, Christine developed a proprietary aerial fitness program that would use aerial hammocks hovering only a couple feet off the ground. The Fly Fit program incorporates moves used in TRX, Barre and Pilates with basic aerial moves and inversions that could be taught to, and learned by, anyone. The studio also offers Air Yoga classes as a compliment to the fitness classes since the mental focus, balance and flexibility gained in yoga helps students improve at Fly Fit and in their overall level of fitness.
