Steady Tattoo and Body Piercing

Love, love, love! Dave did my tattoo and I couldn’t be happier, and it was a memorial for my grandma so it had to be special. He got exactly what I was looking for and I know she’d be proud of it as well. :)

PIERCING REVIEW ONLY: I have had six piercings done here over five years. There is a reason I keep coming back. I usually see Alex, and he has been piercing here for 14 years. He does an excellent job. I’ve gotten my nostril, belly button, conch, nipples, and now a dermal on my face there. He’s very experienced does a great job explaining how everything will work. I always feel very comfortable getting pierced here. Very competitive pricing. Plus they send you home with after care product, for FREE. (A lollipop included for the baby in all of us)

I had my first tattoo done on my inner wrist by Jerome. He drew the plan up and I was pretty enthused by the design. From there things went down hill. He didn’t seem to care about his work or my tattoo. At multiple points I was like «so how is it looking?» To which he always said «I just do the tattoo I don’t have opinions». Similarly to that response, the end result was sad and startling. Line work was bad and uneven, color was patchy and depressing. There was some really puffy scaring under the ink in random spots that he was really heavy handed on. Like I got the feeling that he didn’t care about what he was putting on my body and that was clear by the end result. I was really turned off about going back for a touch up, so today I went to Saint Sabrina’s so they could fix the patchy coloring and lines. Seriously, such better treatment. Way nicer, a lot more enthusiastic and just over all better work. After getting a tattoo elsewhere, I am even more frustrated at the experience I had with Jerome at steady. I would really recommend another tattoo artist if you still want to go there.

As someone who has had tattoos and piercings done at a lot of different shops, I was really impressed with Steady. I got my septum (a tricky piercing) done by Alex and he did an amazing job. He was professional, made me feel relaxed, and talked me through everything. The new shop on Franklin is wonderful — clean, welcoming and full of inspiration for tattoo art.
Although I’ve never had a tattoo done at Steady, I have friends who won’t go anywhere else for their tattoo work. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

I’ve come here for all my tattoos and piercings, both in their old location and their beautiful new one. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and helpful. And, of course, they do great work at a reasonable price.

I’m always happy to go back to Steady. I decided to get my first Steady tattoo last week — I have 2 others, but they weren’t done in MN. I was confident that Steady was the place to go, given my track record with them sticking needles in my body. I love my Steady piercings.
I am happy to report that they’re still the best. Tattoo was quick, relatively painless and so far has healed perfectly. I had a fun time designing my handwriting into a tattoo-​able font (turns out my cursive is just exactly what tattoo fonts look like…) and I felt like the artist was patient and helpful in my re-​sizing requests… All in all, Steady is, as its name suggests, Steady. Baller quality for life.
BONUS: They upped their game, location wise, and now have a street-​level, roomy store. I love the update!

Had a great experience here. Super clean shop and friendly, welcoming staff. Got a tattoo from Jerome — it turned out just how I wanted. Stopped by spontaneously and he was able to draw up tattoos & complete them for both my friend and I. We are both extremely happy with how they turned out! Would definitely recommend. Gabby is great too — she did a tattoo for me when she was at her last shop. You’re in good hands!

I’ve gone in to Steady twice in the past few weeks; once, to get a Tragus piercing and once to resize my bridge piercing. The Tragus piercing ended up exactly how I wanted it, placed perfectly, and the bridge now fits flush to my skin but not too tight. The pricing was also very reasonable and they are always getting new jewelry in! I strongly recommend this place. Alex Levine is very helpful and professional, and nice!
