Great food great service. We had a great time. On problem
I ripped my new shirt on a piece of metal. Ya nice! Right! I paid my tab, I tipped, I spoke with manager, I was nice, I didn’t get a call back, I’ve had to run them down, I was promised it would be taken care of. Well it’s been well over 5 weeks. Nothing!!! WOW!!! Thanks for the service 7. Really nice!

I’ve come to this place a few times. It’s really classy and sleek. They have three floors if I recall and again, so impressive. I was able to celebrate my birthday here and the service was fast and friendly. I had their steak sirloin and it was cooked perfectly, so juicy and mouthwatering with a peppercorn sauce to help top it off. Then I had their mac and cheese with bacon and that was also delicious. The firecracker roll was appetizing as well. They really helped make my birthday special. The first time I was here, I was celebrating my friends 21^st birthday with a table of about 20 people and we received complimentary champagne so that was a nice deal.

I was tempted to give it a 3 because my sushi was really good, but the rest of the meal was just ok, and service was terribly slow.
We went on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, the restaurant dining room wasn’t very busy. Took about 15 minutes for a waiter to come. Ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks came out pretty quick, and then it went downhill. Our waiter kept forgetting us, it took almost 20 minutes to find out they were out of the appetizer we ordered, and that’s only because we asked what was taking so long. My steak was cold, my husbands was overcooked. Sushi was great tho. Our server forgot drinks, which he did comp, which kind of made up for it. After our meal came, we barely saw our waiters face again.
Overall. Bad experience. The worst part was that we had brought friends from out of town for a nice dinner. I emailed the restaurant twice after to express my disappointment, and never even got a «sorry you had a bad night» response.
Moral of the story = get sushi as an app somewhere else, then go get a better steak at Ruth’s Chris.

Fantastic rooftop area, several other floors for fine dining. The steaks are great and the drinks expensive, but you don’t come here if you are on a budget. They do a good job of keeping a drink in front of you.

The place is trendy and the rooftop patio is great and that’s where we were seated in a nice Sunday Evening. Let was. Ice but loud with people smoking and I get that. Coming to the food, it’s expensive and that’s what you get for a high end restaurant (not my cup of tea). The food is ok.
I had the Sirloin and it was just perfect, medium rear as I asked for. The honey sauce was $ 3 on top of the $ 29 and it was not even hood. I threw the sauce after one lil taste.
My wife had the Grilled Salmon which was nice but the rice n cheese plate with shrimp was an overkill, not really healthy food when u consider the entire plate.
The Grilled chicken was ok, a lil dry but ok over all, the hash brown again is oversized but good.
The Burger was ok and the fries were pretty slim cut. The taste was ok.

Went for sushi and was not let down. Had multiple rolls which were all very good. Staff was very good as well. Would definitely go back.

We came here for a large wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was amazing! I had the filet (perfectly cooked), I tried bites of the chicken and sea bass which were equally as delicious. The sushi appetizers were fresh. The service was outstanding! Thanks for a great night!

Typically go here on a Saturday night very fun atmosphere waiting staff are very pleasant, occasionally you get an individual not so great but very rarely, the food is extremely good and the drinks are also very very amazing! I I would recommend this place many times it is a little spendy but it is worth it in the end. I would also recommend going up on the third level which is also outside!

Best steak ever … never knew what melt in your mouth steak ment until last night. I am not even sure I would need to have chewed it. Staff courteous and professional. Presentation of the cuts of meat was nice. Side feed two people. We both left stuffed and wanting more.

Sushi is 3 star — deck rooftop deck makes it 4 to 5 star depending on weather. Great place to relax on a Monday evening!

Exactly what keeps me coming back to this place? I have yet to find out.
When I first moved here, everyone wanted to do happy hour at Seven because of the rooftop bar. Ok, I get that part. Actually, I was never a huge fan of eating/​drinking outdoors until I moved to Minneapolis. I will give Seven credit for helping change my mindset as the rooftop view is pretty decent.
However, the food is overpriced for the portions and I only enjoy it when I have had a few drinks. The drink menu needs to be updated because they always seem to be out of some bottle that I request.
I highly doubt people come here because they love the food. I think the crowd (and myself) are drawn to this place because of the location, rooftop bar and lounge-​like feel after dark.
Saturday nights you can find a DJ playing the top 40 hits and other soulful tunes that will keep your toes tapping. The Saturday night crowd always seems to amaze me as you will find women dressed in Prom gowns and the men wearing shirts as if they just arrived from the beach. It doesn’t appear as if everyone is dressed to go the same place.
Service leads much to be desired. I hate the way management talks to employees, very degrading; especially in front of customers.
And I have friends who only pay cash at this place because the waiters may have been known to add extra amounts for tips when they think you are too drunk to notice. Hey that is rumor, but since it came from a credible source I oblige.

This place is good for pricey drinks and a maybe the rooftop… Other then that… I can’t say there’s anything else. We started off with not getting our table even thought we had reservations. The food took longer then what «upscale» restaurant should take. But this is not uncommon either so beware… They also messed up one of my friends order and her food came out when the rest of us was finishing up our meal. I guess they did comp. her meal but for the long wait I don’t know if it’s not worth it. The food was okay nothing great for the price. Overall would I go here again probably not… Maybe for a drink on the rooftop.

The tabletop was very similar to the floor of a movie theatre. Very sticky & gross. We had to ask for it to be cleaned.
Restaurant was unbearably cold. Like, you’re frantically rubbing your hands together because your fingers hurt, kind of cold. I even heard the servers comment to one another about how freezing this place was.
Ironically, the staff was just as frigid as the temp. Terrible customer service!!!
Also, because it was so cold, our food arrived at the table lukewarm. By the second or third bite, our food was ice cold.
Oddly, I’m not a fan of frozen food so I didn’t eat it. I left this restaurant just as hungry as when I arrived. I ended up swinging by a drive thru on my way home. Not at all how I imagined my evening going.
I expressed my concerns to Seven twice and never heard back from them. They obviously do not care about their customers.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!!!

This place is very posh and has a very lively upscale ambiance. However, the service is less than stellar for whatever reason.
I understand rushes and order pops… but waiting over an hour to receive two sushi rolls? That’s not a good standard at any restaurant.
The Sushi itself is delicious and the rooftop scene is very exciting when the weather is nice.
Bottom Line: They take it too far with the snootyness and lack of service

Came here on a Friday night with some work friends for the rooftop patio. The atmosphere is heavenly! You get a wonderful view of the city with comfortable seating. We got drinks at the rooftop bar and I decided on a specialty martini. In my experience martinis are quite strong, and I don’t mind paying a bit for a good drink. This martini tasted basically like 6oz lemonade, the alcohol was undetectable. Oh and did I mention it was $ 14???
The food menus were insanely confusing. There were 6 of us in the group and we were given 1 sushi menu, 1 steak menu, and 1 appetizer/​salad/​side dish menu. Let me repeat, 1 menu for 6 people to share.
I heard good things about the crab cake and mussels so I ordered the mussels to start off and the crab cake as the entrée. Our server assured me the mussels would come out first. One of my friends ordered a steak with bernaise and calamari to start off. When the food came, I realized they had everyone’s entrees and the appetizers had not come out first, in fact they came out about 15 minutes after our entrees. My friend never received his calamari and they forgot the bernaise. I could go on but you get the picture. The food was delicious of course but they really need to get their kitchen in order. The experience was nice but there’s so many other rooftops in the area with the same beautiful view, I probably won’t be back to this one.

Went here for a work dinner while in Minneapolis and didn’t have the best experience. The food that we ordered was great but the service was terrible.
When you first sit down you are presented with 4 menus: Cocktail, Wine, Sushi, and Steak. It’s an overwhelming amount of information to look over and within seconds of sitting down our server was hounding the table about what we would like to order and pushing the really expensive items (seafood tower).
Every minute the server returned to try to push us into ordering more and more things before the table was ready or had a chance to look over the menus.
We ended up ordering an appetizer of Bruschetta for the table and she kept trying to get us to order more even though we insisted we were good with what we had ordered.
When we were ready to order our entrees, it seemed like our server had decided we weren’t worth her time and disappeared.
Once we got our meals everything was delicious and we really enjoyed all the food.
1. The crab cake was the biggest crab cake I have ever had with no filler! It was amazing
2. The steaks were cooked well and seasoned to perfection, juicy and tender with a nice char to the outside
3. The sweet potato fries were crisp and plenty to share.
4. The Bruschetta it large enough for sharing and comes with plenty of topping, we even had to ask for more bread to go with it.
5. The butternut squash ravioli was really good but the sauce it came in was super oily, the least favorite dish of the evening.
Overall, I would try it again to see if it was just this particular server that ruined the experience because the food tasted great.

Am i confused? I drove past 50 sushi places to end up here? This place was extremely overpriced for the food they put out. 12 dollar (small cup) of cold lobster bisque… The sushi is the same as everyplace on the planet. Don’t kid yourself, just because steaks and sushi are expensive doesn’t make them any better to eat! The only reason this place is in business is the rooftop and dumb ass business people that make prices like this happen… We only ended up here because it was the only place that wasn’t packed. Whatya know.

Stunning décor! Chrisrmas still up! Had a wonderful wait staff. Prices seemed a bit inflated. I had shrimp cocktail — beautiful prawns and serving size, Lobster bisque totally Not worth the $ 10 for a cup. Much thinner than I’ve had and not as creamy as I’m used to a much higher quality at home back in Columbus, Ohio. Had a Caesar Salad w/​Grilled Salmon. Perfect. My partner had a large filet. Cut like butter and a side salad. All was deliscious. She finished w/​a piece of lemon/​blueberry bread pudding! Loved it. Not a 5 Star because at the end their was some type of bill mess up that they overcharged us $ 80 but that should be taken care of today. We’ll update you all. Thank you.

Best steaks in the state by far! Besides the beef their crab cakes are out of this world.
Seven The Steakhouse also offers a great roof top bar overlooking downtown Minneapolis. This is simply a top notch restaurant. I can’t wait to go back again!

The food was fantastic as was our very energetic and fun server (Travis). The service actually made the entire meal, but that’s not to take anything away from the great food or ambience. I tried both the sirloin and the salmon; both were incredible.

Tried out this place with a Groupon, and was very impressed. Steak is served a la carte, so we added some mashed potatoes and asparagus to the dinner. Also, had the salmon which was very good.
Little spendy; but the groupon, atmosphere, and quality of the food made it a very nice experience.

The Sea Bass at Seven is one of my FAVORITES ! Very Light! Beautiful Décor! Business/​Evening /​Downtown, dress code! Hoodies & Doo-​Rags would be better saved for a daytime event! Enjoy !

Enjoyed dinner with my son before a Timberwolves game. Fast, friendly service and delicious food! Our server Cicero was very attentive and knew the menu well. The very nice manager Alex checked in on us and we had zero concerns. The valet parking was so convenient and we stopped by after the basketball game for a drink, they also have very engaging bartenders! Thank you SEVEN for a wonderful evening!!!

Best lump crab cake in town… deliciously prepared and not as dry as the ones at Oceannaire.
The sushi is usually good… I like several of the specialty rolls. The steak is usually really good here — and last night, we tried the szechuan green beans which were really tasty if you like spicy food.
Ambience is beautiful, especially around the holidays. Service is inconsistent — sometimes it’s great, other times really slow and inattentive.

Interesting experience the host didn’t know we had reservations when we asked and then pointed us to multiple different parties to try to figure out where to sit.
Myself and my girlfriend ordered the moruwase-​su both dishes tasted very different. Hers was citrisy and light, where mine was heavy and it tasted like they shook a whole bottle of liquid smoke on top of it to the point of tar.
The server was amazing in personality, however he disappeared when we needed him the most for drinks, or check, and ordering.
Usually only restaurant week is the only way to get me to eat here.
Apparently it will stay that way.

I went here after the Timberwolves game. Very nice club, located downtown Minneapolis. Packed out and had no problem checking in. Drinks and food were pretty good. The ladies were looking nice. I notice most of the dudes were sucking on lollipops. I guess its a some kind of style out there. But I enjoyed myself. The dj was wack to my ears. Don’t get me wrong, he was playing some good songs, but his playlist was off. He was a straight Zero. But the bartenders in the back made up for the bad music, by keeping my glass full with the JW Blue.

#9 roll is AMAZING!!! I added asparagus to mimic something I had somewhere else and it was so delicious!

This place was interesting. My girlfriend and I came in around 11pm on a Friday night after a show at the State Theatre. We had planned on going to the outside roof area but judging by the amount of pot smoke we ran into once we climbed the stairs there must have been some kind of reggae concert going on, plus it was going to be a half hour wait for a table. So it was back down to the first floor dining room where we were seated in a nice comfortable booth. It is a good steakhouse menu. We shared the bruschetta, which was more than enough for two people and very good. For the entrée I had the New York Strip, which was cooked perfectly to my order, but the real stand out of the meal was my side order of Lobster Hash. This was an outrageously good side dish that went well with the steak. Would also like to add that we had a fantastic, friendly waiter.
The location of this place attracts a lot of drunk people at this late hour which was entertaining to say the least. From the pack of girls trying and failing twice to get entry to the roof area, to the woman trying and also failing to get access to A-​Rod and a few other Yankees that were seated in the back of the dining room.
This turned out to be a great late night dinner. Good food and good service, close to the theatre and our hotel. I recommend staying on the first floor.

I had a great experience at Seven. It was just me and I was surprised I was treated so well. Typically a single is not treated well. A member of their staff made sure I got a table on the roof top and George was a friendly, helpful server. I had sushi which fresh and very tasty!

Combination of smoke blowing in your face, crappy service and confusion between open seating or seeing a hostess made this roof top bar experience completely not worth of time waisted here.
Also they have a huge sign in front saying «complimentary valet» but after you get out of the car they tell you that it’s a minimum of $ 75 per person to spend here to get the stupid complimentary parking.
The only thing worth my time here was the glass of water that was served in a plastic cup!!!

Great atmosphere on such a beautiful summer night. Was with a group after a work function while in town.
Close to the hotel, and having been before, we headed up the stairs to the rooftop.
Ordered a TON of food.
Waitress was awesome, remembered everything, and the huge sushi assortment was awesome. Had the wings and beef tips which were both excellent.
Definitely recommend if you are in MN for a work trip.

Our waiter was absolutely awesome — he was literally always running around and willing to help. Just be warned that because it is a steakhouse — the check may come back to be a very expensive check!

Dear Seven,
You make me so upset. How can a place so fly be so ridiculous when it comes to customer service?! Fool me once, shame on you… fool me for the 15^th time I’ve given you a chance this year, shame on me! If it weren’t for those addicting trinity wings, baked mussels, and tater tots, I would have been dunzo a long time ago. Please let me come into your restaurant and Olivia Pope your customer service situation so you can truly shine like the bright star you really are.
I thought I loved you but when it took two hours for a California roll to come out I started to realize you didn’t really care about me… which also reminds me of that one time you wouldn’t seat my friend and I for 45 minutes because you were waiting for a bigger party to show up to fill your open four top… oh yeah and that one time you brought my food out a half hour before my date got his food… too many good times to list.
I hope one day we can see each other again, but for now I think it’s time we take a break.

I’ve been to Seven many times, and I don’t think it’s as horrible as everyone is saying! I just think that there are so many other places where you can get more for your money. I treat this place like more of a special occasion place — birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about it!
One time I went I got sushi and my boyfriend got a steak. We were sitting in the downstairs area, and I found out that I do prefer the sushi lounge. My initial reaction was that the steaks are super expensive, and they don’t even come with sides?! I feel like if you pay for that much, it should come with at least something added. I thought maybe it would be a big portion, but it honestly wasn’t. He got mashed potatoes, and those were pretty good! My sushi tasted good, too! I feel like everything is just «good» because the prices weigh in when I’m thinking of taste. When I went for a friends birthday in the upper sushi lounge, that was fun! Again, I’ve had better sushi, but it’s just a fun atmosphere for drinks and being with a bunch of friends. Plus you can walk right up to the rooftop and have some drinks there when it’s nice out! This place is always bumpin’. :)
Overall, I am a fan! I love the location and the atmosphere at night. It’s really fun and there’s a lot of people there too! It can be dressy, and it’s fun dressing up and going with friends. (This is a place where there’s someone in the bathroom handing you a towel, haha!) I wouldn’t recommend spending tons of money on food, but maybe go for the drinks or some apps? It’s fun and worth a try!

Fancy pancy! Just my style. SEVEN has been on my list since I got to Minneapolis.
We went out for a friends Birthday on a Thursday night and basically got lucky because the restaurant stayed open for us. We were a party of 10 so I think they had an incentive to keep the kitchen open. We were seated in the back by the lovely flaming electric fireplace. I really liked the feel of this place.
Emily was our server and she was so fun and friendly. She said that her policy was «Fun» and as long as we remembered that through the night then we would be good. She gave us the meat showing where she went through a display of all the SEVEN steaks and their uniqueness. This was a first for me, never got a show before ;-).
I really wanted to order the Ribeye but it was too late to eat such a large portion, so I ordered the filet mignon. I would say that it was not the best Steak I have had, but it was not terrible either just average. I had a side of spinach to top it off.
For dessert we had the Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee which was delicious!!! I could have had seconds of this over and over ;-). SEVEN was solid and I would love to go back and try my Ribeye and even some sushi next time.

Diner un soir de semaine au Seven the Steakhouse and Sushis (c’est le nom complet du restaurant). Sur les conseils de la réceptionniste de l’hotel, nous sommes avons réservé une table au premier étage, où l’atmosphère est plutôt lounge.
L’accueil est sympa, d’autant plus que la jeune hotesse, revenant d’un stage de 3 mois en France, s’est fendue de quelques paroles agréables dans la langue de Molière. En revanche le service était perfectible. La bouteille de vin commandée n’était plus en stock. Nous avons attendu 10 minutes pour qu’on nous le dise, et patienter 15 autres minutes avant de voir arriver sa remplaçante!
Côté cuisine, les Noix de Saint-​Jacques Balckened étaient parfaites (cuisson et assaisonnement). Un vrai régal. En revanche, le choix des accompagnements dans l’assiette était pour le moins décevant. Les épinards, crus, auraient mérités d’être légèrement chauffés, et les petites tranches de courgettes, crues elles aussi, auraient bénéficié d’une petite poelade rapide, né fut-​ce que pour les dorer. Enfin, les saint Jacques étaient déposées sur des tranches de tomate crues, dont ni le goût ni la texture né se mariaient avec les fines saveurs du coquillage…
