I vaguely remember being an only child. Then I turned 8 and, along with a brand new baby brother, I gained four additional siblings: two older and two younger. Two more little brothers and a little sister followed shortly after that and suddenly I had eight siblings. I must have loved it because I sustained my way through college (and life) by nannying for dozens of amazing kiddos and am now a children’s photographer. Working with kids is very natural for me and I’ve been called a «child whisperer» more times than I can count throughout my life. I feel at home running around with kids, throwing them in the air, building forts, and capturing who they are inside and out through photography.
I want to see your family; everything about them. I want to know what you love about your children’s ages right now. I want to get in on the inside jokes (and create some new ones). I want your photos to be an exact reflection of who you all are together at this particular point in time.
History
Established in 2003.
I’m a sucker for a great moment. I’m pretty good at living in the present, but I constantly find myself wrapped up in my favorite nostalgic moments of the past. Not entire days, or weeks, but those split seconds that make you smile from the inside out. I love anything real, raw, and unfiltered. When I suggest a pose in a session, that isn’t raw, but when I suggest a pose and then the people I’m shooting crack up laughing, that’s real, and that’s the moment I’m looking for.
Once I really discovered photography that was it for me. The fact that this crazy device is fast enough to capture those moments is unreal, and being able to document the connection between people makes me indescribably happy. There’s nothing I love more than watching people interact, seeing the love and the raw emotions, anticipating moments, and being able to freeze them forever.

I grew up in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota and from there I moved to Duluth, London, Dublin, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Tacoma, and now call Minneapolis home again.
When I’m not photographing kiddos with a camera in-hand you can find me in the front row (usually stage right) at concerts with an IPA (and a camera) in-hand, exploring the great outdoors with a frisbee in-hand or driving across the country with a bottomless cup of coffee in-hand.
