The salads are pretty basic but decent. The best thing here are their warm chocolate chip cookies. They’re the size of your head!

With all of the options I feel like I really should have prepped beforehand to get an idea of what sounded good, b/c I wasn’t very happy with the selection. The grilled Italian chicken sandwich is more like a ceaser salad sandwich. Good, but not what I was expecting. Small, hard bread, but alright filling. However, for $ 6, the sandwich wasn’t special enough that I feel I should come again. Guess I’ll be sticking to my favorite sandwich places.

Real Meal Deli opened up in the Tri-Tech Center where Bamboo Shoot and Asia Max once were. The menu is pretty diverse with cold sandwiches, a few warm ones; soup, salads; a warm lunch entrée; bakery items; and breakfast. There are also a lot of sack lunch options with optional chips or cookie. I really like the menu for its diversity. Today I had a Greek Chicken sandwich with hunks of chicken, really nice greens(no iceberg lettuce), kalamata olives, red onions, feta, Greek vinaigrette, fresh tzatziki on a choice of white or wheat roll. Tomatoes for those who want them(yuck). The only thing that would make it better would’ve been slices of cucumber. I’ve tried their rotation of soups(bacon corn chowder; chicken wild rice; curry butternut squash) and they’re pretty tasty. I wish the chicken wild rice was a cream of chicken wild rice rather than a broth based soup, but if you like big hunks of carrot, it’ll be your thing. The salads are also great. The Caribbean Mango Salad has nice chunks of delicious mango. I thought the ordering was a little disorganized and prices steep my first few visits, but today I got a full sandwich, cup of soup, fountain drink, and giant chocolate chip cookie for $ 10. For good-tasting food, that’s a pretty awesome deal. I wish there were different cookie options than just CC, but they’ve done a good job of brining good food to the northern side of downtown.
