Specialties

We offer a variety of classes in Creative Movement, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-​Hop, Modern, Tap, Clogging, Tumbling, Kettlebell Training, Zumba and more. Classes are offered for ages 2 ½ through adults for beginning through advanced levels. We have four large, light, airy studio spaces in Blaine and two in Fridley to accommodate our dance families. Our teaching style accents pleasure and self discipline; our family friendly environment supports creative learning experiences for everyone. Our enthusiasm and dedication will inspire the dancer in you!

History

Established in 1970.

QC Dance originated in 1970 as Queens Court in St. Anthony MN. Queens Court opened in Blaine in 1989 and has continued as the community dance studio.

QC’s founder, Mary Jasicki, retired in July of 2013 when Barb Stanley, long time dancer and Competition Director purchased the business. Barb is enjoying growing and excellng QC Dance to be the leader in quality dance education in Blaine and surrounding communities.

Barb began dancing at the age of 3. A member of Twin Cities Dance Court– a non-​profit volunteer performance troupe, she performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France– including EuroDisney, Italy, & many local venues including nursing homes & the Mall of America. She has performed multiple times at Walt Disney World in Florida & in 2008 in Nassau, Bahamas. Throughout her dance career she has trained with many renowned choreographers. During college she attended ballet classes & dance education classes at the University of Minnesota. She trained in numerous dance disciplines. Barb is also a member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. Barb has been teaching & choreographing at QC since 1994. Barb’s focus over the past 6 years has concentrated with the competition teams at QC, producing many choreography awards & winning routines. Barb became QC’s Director in July 2013. Barb also has her B.S. in Kinesiology (the study of movement) & her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
