History

Established in 1970.

Since the company’s inception in 1970, Plekkenpol Builders has grown from a one-​person operation to one of the Twin Cities’ premier Design-​Build Remodelers.

Starting a remodeling company was somewhat of an accident for President and founder, Craig Plekkenpol. He was working summers for a contractor and when the contractor retired, he began referring clients to Craig. In the early 1970s, Craig was the estimator, salesman, bookkeeper, carpenter and laborer working out of a makeshift office in a walk-​in closet at home.

Over the years the company grew steadily, and today Craig and Judy Plekkenpol proudly employ a highly qualified and experienced team of professionals. Their philosophy of exceptional customer service, respect and trust along with an unbroken history, continued growth, strong involvement with community and industry associations have allowed Plekkenpol Builders to become a driving force in the Twin Cities remodeling industry.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

As President and founder, I manage all aspects of the business, and design and sell remodeling projects. As an advocate of the remodeling industry, I serve on the Board of Directors of National Association of Home Builders, Builders Association of the Twin Cities and The Builder’s Group. I have served as the President of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities and the Remodelers Council of BATC. I hold designations of CGR — Certified Graduate Remodeler and CAPS — Certified Aging in Place Specialist.

My greatest enjoyment comes from seeing projects completed and hearing the positive comments from our customers about our company and our dedicated staff. Working alongside such a talented team is a great source of pride. Customer service is our top priority and it is very rewarding to know that much of our business comes from repeat customers and referrals.
