Perfect Getaway Dayspa

My fella and I got the afore mentioned living social deal for Valentine’s day. I made an appointment for May 2^nd and we went over at the scheduled time last night. I did think it was odd that they didn’t call to remind me– especially after 3 months, but we still went over there. Needless to say, the place was closed (for the night? Forever?). There number has been disconnected as has their website. But, just to make sure it was the weirdest thing ever, you could see through the window that all of the lights were on and there was a candle burning in the lobby. I wonder how many weeks it’s been like that?

Horrible customer service. Like many previous reviewers, I was not able to even make an appointment and then their website became ‘temporarily unavailable’. I requested a refund from Groupon, and they eventually shut down the groupon all together.

Like most of the other reviews on here, seldom do you reach anyone when you call. I purchased the spa package as a Valentine’s gift for me and my significant other. I called and they were completely booked through the end of February. I told them I would call them back in March to set up an appointment. I have yet to reach them after several phone calls so I decided to book my appointment online last week for March 9. Days after I booked the appointment online someone called and left a voice message asking me to call them back (no mention about the appointment being booked or not available). I finally reached someone today and asked if my appointment was confirmed for tomorrow March 9. She checked and said she could not find me on the schedule and that she’s completely booked the entire day. She then also mentioned that if this was a couples spa package it would be an extra $ 30 each person for them to extend the time due to the facial. If I want to avoid the extra charge then I would need to book separate appointments. WHAT!!! This is suppose to be a couples spa package so why would I want to book separate appointments. I called Groupon and explained to them my situation. The rep asked if I would like for her to reach out to them for me. I declined because I can’t even go with my significant other to have my facial and mani/​pedi done together. She gladly refunded me my money. After seeing all the reviews on here pretty similar to what I dealt with I’m glad I’m getting a refund and avoiding having to experience probably not even close to a spa treatment that anyone dreamed it to be like.

Got a groupon and I completely regret not looking at the reviews.
This place has been open for a year and where do I begin?
Cleanliness? None. Water damage in the mani/​pedi room. The towels were torn. Old towels used in the bathroom to wipe your hands with.
The polish was all old and my manicure didn’t even last a day.
The staff was nice, but it doesn’t make up for how low quality the service, décor and products used.
How is this place still open?!

Last week I bought a Groupon to this place as a Valentine’s Day treat for my sweetie and me. The deal was for a couple’s massage, wine and chocolate. Sounds nice, right? Sure. What is not so nice about this place is that they don’t answer their phones and they don’t return messages. Ever.
Thus far, I have emailed them once and called them twice to book my appointment. The woman I did speak to took my informaiton each time and said that someone would call me back. Has anyone called or emailed me back to book the appointment? Not a chance. The last time I called I was so pissed that I pressed the woman on the phone to talk to the scheduler, which is apparently where the problem lies – the scheduler, who is soooo busy, is the one who gets back to you, AFTER the receptionist takes your infomation.
When I asked to be transferred to the scheduler, I was first told that she didn’t have the woman’s extension, then, that she didn’t have the authority to do so and finally, that she was extremely busy. To that I told her that if their spa can’t handle booking so many appoitments as a result of putting out a Groupon, they shouldn’t be doing Groupons.
Based on what others have said about this place, who have actually visited the spa, I am going to request a refund from Groupon. I should’ve gone to Unilocal first before wasting my money.

I haven’t been here but I bought their livingsocial deal for a couple’s massage. I tried for two months to get an appointment but either they wouldn’t answer my call or their voicemail box would be full and no reply to emails. When they finally answered my call they said they were booked for the next 3 months and that I would not be able to redeem my deal. They told me livingsocial would be willing to refund my money. But livingsocial denied the refund. So I will probably go there once to use up the actual value of the deal since I already paid for it. But trust me with that kind of customer service, I would not go there or suggest any one go there.

I went with 3 girlfriends to have a relaxing spa day but really didn’t enjoy the spa experience. This place was just dirty! :(My masseuse was weirdly unaware (for ex: she rested her big stomach against my head while she was massaging my back — wtf? Pretty comical.) Also, they did the facials with the lights off, lit only by candles, so no detailed skin analysis or treatment. The products smelled and felt wal-​mart quality.
A spa package here is probably half the price of what you’d pay at nicer places, but this is definitely a «you get what you pay for» kind of place. Sorry, I wanted to love it!

I used the $ 40 mani/​pedi and glass of wine coupon for my visit here and they are lucky I did. I would have put up quite a fit to get my money back if I’d paid full price.
I have gotten a lot of mani/​pedis in my short life so far at a lot of different places and this was by far the worst. I’ve bulleted my experience below.
– The manicurist had to read the instructions on the cuticle softener before applying it. This seems like something you should know if you do this for a living.
– The callouses on my heels weren’t touched at all.
– The first polish I picked out for my toes was old and gummy so I had to pick a new color.
– They didn’t soak my hands so cuticle work would likely have been quite painful however although she pushed my cuticles back…
– She didn’t clip my cuticles at all and the manicurist that worked on my friend was using the clipper upside down!
– She free-​handed the white tips on my French manicure which looked terrible and my friend’s manicurist painted her nails while her hands were flat on the table which made her very unsteady and the polish was very sloppy.
– She only put one coat of white so it was splotchy and you could see my nails through it in some places.
– Their lamps must be old or cheap because I had to keep my hands under them for 2 whole minutes which basically boiled the polish on some fingers and made it wrinkled. She didn’t even seem to notice this and made no attempt to fix it.
– Lastly, because she left my cuticles hanging, the polish peeled up at the base of my nails the next day and I ended up having to remove it all together.
Even beyond the clear lack of training for the manicurists (which I recognize may not be their fault), I thought the staff lacked a bit of professionalism as well. As I said above, I was there with a friend and both of our manicurists were listening in on our conversation and constantly commenting on this or that. I get that they want to be friendly but you need to learn when to butt out. Also, they didn’t even ask for my coupon that I used when we went to pay.
I honestly don’t know how they stay in business with such inexperienced manicurists like that. I can’t imagine anyone ever coming back after what happened to my friend and me. Needless to say the service was VERY VERY poor and I will not be returning for any service at any price.

I haven’t actually been here yet, but that’s only because I can’t get anyone to answer the phone or call/​email me back. I suspect that they don’t want to return my call because I have a Living Social deal. If that is the case then perhaps they shouldn’t sell a Living Social deal.

Seriously, this has been the most high maintenance «spa» experience I’ve ever had. I have called them several times and the phone has never been answered on the first ring, my mani/​pedi started 30 min late due to the client before me running over in time, and my gel manicure is almost completely gone 5 days after I got it (poor quality products).
While I enjoyed the personalities of the staff, I am disappointed with the experience I received. Save yourself the time and effort… don’t book here.
