Specialties

Minnehaha Liquor was one of the original liquor licenses granted by the city of Minneapolis after prohibition, making it one of the oldest liquor stores in the area.

We are locally owned and operated; serving the Longfellow neighborhood with quality products, great prices and friendly service for over 75 years. We value the community we serve and celebrate the multicultural and diverse heritage of our customers. Everyone is welcome and will be greeted with a smile and treated with respect.

We are your run-of-the-mill liquor store supplying everything from your craft beers, porters, stouts, ales, domestics and imports, to all of your wine needs ranging from cabernets, pinots, shirazs, ports, and zinfandels. We also carry your tequila, vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, and scotch needs.

History

Established in 1988.

Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits is one of the oldest liquor stores in Minneapolis. Our liquor license was one of the first granted in Minneapolis after prohibition.

For the past 25 years it has been a family owned and operated business.

When our liquor license was originally granted, the store name was Minnehaha Liquor. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, «big box» retail became the model for retail. In keeping with that model, we remodeled the store and changed our name to Minnehaha Warehouse Liquor, offering lower prices and doubling our business.

With our most recent remodel, we changed our name to Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits. Only the name has changed, not the prices. The new name reflects our expanded selection of great wines, interesting spirits and craft beers

Meet the Business Owner

Steve K.

Business Owner

I bought the business 25 years ago. Back then it was known as Minnehaha Liquors, but was also known for great customer service and selection. We recently changed our name to Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits, but we take pride in the tradition of being a local liquor retail store that has stayed true to its values through all the years.

I enjoy engaging with my customers and getting to know them as I am frequently at the store. Because my neighborhood is my business, I take pride in contributing to local events and sponsoring various community groups.
