I am not an artsy kind of guy, to be honest, most pieces escape me. I did love the spoon though. The best part is that it was free. There were some other interesting pieces and a few that were either under construction or recently taken down. The greenhouse is nice too. There is a small put-put golf course too. It’s a good place to rest if you are riding or running on the many trails around the park.

Very nice park. They were under some construction to remodel so some things were not available, but a nice place to relax and enjoy the weather in the middle of the hectic city. they were also cool with me flying my drone to get a few cool pictures. Hence the 4 stars.

Right now the garden is closed for some renovations. But at least the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture is still open for viewing. An iconic sculpture that all tourists and Minneapolitans must see. The botanical gardens are small but still worth taking a look; they’re not the most amazing thing though.

this was #1 on my list for the city. we didn’t see a lot of the sculpture that was on this Unilocal for the park but loved the star attraction the spoon and cherry sculpture so much it was worth the trip. The park itself was nice.. lots of trees and flowers. The park is free but have to pay for parking. we paid for the all day parking and walked around all day.

small park, with some sculptures(coolness factor varies), that’s completely over-hyped. as a tourist it’s not really worth coming here especially if on a short trip. however, if you’re in the city for a while it may be a nice place to just hang out for a bit. super hype.

What an oasis! I wanted to see the spoon and cherry but found so much more. This is a peaceful quiet area not too far from downtown that is just perfect. An excellent spot to grab a chair(there are many scattered around) or bring a blanket and have a picnic or enjoy a good book. Great artwork and beautiful views of downtown in the distance. For those who love art and those who want to relax in peace and quiet!

Cute, but much smaller than I expected. I came here with some friends a Saturday evening to kill some time, hoping to spend about an hour before going to dinner. Ended up only spending about 30 min, it was that small(and this was even including all the time spent Snapchatting and Instagramming every moment). Overall, if you’re in Minneapolis and have some time to kill, check it out. Otherwise don’t go out of your way to come here.

A classic spot for Minneapolis tourism. We were lucky and scored a parking spot right in front. My husband rushed us through so I can’t give it a stellar review. I saw the spoon and Frank Gehry and that’s about it. I bet it’s a nice place to walk around, there is a museum across the street and mini golf. Looks fun!

It’s not the best sculpture garden that I’ve been to but It’s still a cool place to come and walk around. It took us an hour to walk around and take some pics. Nice experience overall and it’s free :)

Interesting place to check out for about half an hour to an hour. The garden is free so we just walked around and took pictures. Of course the highlight is the giant spoon but for some reason, the grass area surrounding it is full of poop(and when I say full, I mean I had to plan every step). There’s also a small conservatory and some other random sculptures/art. Overall I wasn’t too impressed.

Who knew someone could be so excited to see an oversized spoon and cherry, but it happened. This whole sculpture garden is absolutely beautiful. Even for being in the winter, the area was well kept and easy finding walking access. The enclosed garden had a giant glass fish sculpture, absolutely beautiful! It was a nice peaceful and serene area. And for being an outdoors place, the bathrooms, to my surprise, were clean! Definitely a must-see, and coming from Omaha and making sure I stopped here, was worth the cold, drive, and time. I hope to come back and see the Walker Art Center!

This is another must-see for a day in the Twin Cities. The«Spoon and Cherry» sculpture is often referenced when talking about things to do and see in Minneapolis. It is an icon of the city. I am going to be totally honest and admit that I struggle to understand most art sculptures. Lucky for me there were quite a few that I could immediately look at an appreciate the beauty of. People who are more artistically inclined would probably even appreciate the sculpture garden more than I did. You can park across the street at the art museum and it is very affordable(I think it was $ 2 to park for less than an hour). Also, if you are there for the 1st Saturday of the month there is free admission to the art museum!

Sculpture Garden is a free outdoorsy garden museum. It’s perfect to come here in the afternoon when the weather is perfect like during the fall season. There are artworks scattered around this scenic botanical garden. You can probably finish walking around the garden within an hour or so depending on how long you want to stand in front of a sculpture and look pensive. In front of the artworks, there are little plaques that have a number you can call to learn more about the artwork. Aside from the artworks, there are so many trees lined up so beautifully. Coming here in October is probably one of the perfect times to visit this garden. Make sure to dress cute and warm for some good pictures with the sculptures and the artworks.

Saw that the sculpture garden is open until midnight, so I came on a weeknight around 9:00 pm… why is it so dark? It was difficult to find the entrance, and then could barely see any of the sculptures. We also heard a group of people gathered inside under the trees in the dark, and I honestly felt uncomfortable. Yes the giant cherry in the giant spoon is adorable, just not sure why lighting is so completely insufficient if the garden is open late. Many parts of the paths were pitch dark. I need to visit during the day.

Yay, the cherry on the spoon… the cherry on the spoon! Ever since I first saw this sculpture on TV, I have wanted to come to Minneapolis to see it up close and in person. And ya know what? I loved it as much as I thought I would. The rest of the sculptures paled in comparison to Spoonbridge & Cherry. But it was a gorgeous day to capture all the art and soak in this place. I know people take hella pictures of this sculpture, so it seems pointless to post mine but, I shall anyway because I can! :)

A must see for those who are visiting Minneapolis. Guided tours are offered through the museum and are highly recommend. Parking is really difficult. I would just bit the bullet and park at the museum parking structure. They have a flat daily fee which is reasonable. Just plan on doing other things in the area. I was there during Pride and the parking structure was a hidden gem many people didn’t take advantage of.

I don’t remember how I heard of it, but when my mom and I made a random trip to Minneapolis in 2006/07, I knew I needed to visit. It was February and snowing and the water was frozen under the Spoonbridge and Cherry. At the time I didn’t even realize there was a body of water since it was covered in snow, so fortunately, I didn’t get too close. There wasn’t much else to see in the Garden during the winter, but there’s an enclosed space that was nice. Til this day, Spoonbridge and Cherry remains one of my favorite sculptures. I was shocked and pleased to find that artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen created this piece(they also created Cupid’s Span in San Francisco and Flashlight in Las Vegas, among many large whimsical sculptures around the world). I would love to visit during the spring or summer when all the vibrant colors come alive.

I’ve lived in MN all my life and just recently visited. My boyfriend and I were planning on going to the mini golf but the wait was almost 2 hours long! So we sadly had to skip it. They had a food truck nearby that served hot dogs and even had a tofu dog. Even though we didn’t order food I was very happy to see that they had vegetarian options. During the hot day while we were there there was plenty of family activities that were happening and it was so great to see people/strangers interact. We didn’t stay long and see everything due to the heat but we had a great short time while we were there.

Very fun place to go visit, they have many beautiful sculptures here and a nice walking path. It is of a decent size so you can stay awhile here to enjoy a day outside. They do hold events here for the family so they do attempt to do things besides display art. Many of the pieces are selfie worthy, so stop by on a nice day and enjoy the fun art in the park.

I come here all of the time because I run the Cedar Lake trail and stretch in the Sculpture Garden. I really love this garden because it’s free, good sized and a great place to people watch. The garden is also connected to Loring Park so it’s very easy to take the walking bridge and get some great views of the city. Plus everyone needs the quintessential cherry and the spoon picture. I am not sure if I would say it’s worth it to drive a long distance to come to this garden but if you are in the area it’s definitely a place to check out.
