MAI Hoa Beauty Salon

Deserves ZERO stars after today. Stylist accepted a 2pm men’s hair cut appointment but took in more than she could handle, doing three female hair color treatments simultaneously and kept the 2pm hair cut appointment waiting for nearly 2 hours. A customer’s time deserves more respect than that.

My friends refer me to Mai Hoa Salon to have my hair highlight and cut. After couple months of hesitation I decided to give them a try. I was helped by Kim and she did a wonderful job on my hair not only that their pricing is a lot less than where I used to go. I should have listened to my friends and come to Mai Hoa Salon sooner.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve always gone to the same hairstylist ever since I was 8 years old. If you ever go to this place make an appointment with Trang Nguyen! She will make sure you LOOOVE your haircut. I also get my eyebrows waxed by her.
She makes sure she doesn’t chop off too much of your hair, and makes sure to double check with you if the length is right. She actually makes conversation with you that doesn’t seem forced. Everyone in this salon genuinely cares about you.

I will be going there from now in for my haircuts or any other hair needs. I tried many salons in Minnesota I’m quite ease with Mai Hoa!
The salon is pretty clean; parking in the front and around the building. It is the building before Rainbow’s restaurant.

Don’t let the building fool you, but I got an awesome wash, cut, and style at a cheap price. Ask for Trang Nguyen. She’s amazing! Super friendly and knows her craft. I’ve never been happier after a haircut. I brought a photo and she nailed it, but made it go with my face shape. Impressive because photos can be difficult to match. They’ve just earned another loyal client.

Not really knowing any hair stylists in Minneapolis, I was very skeptical at first. I made an «appointment» for 1:30pm and got there a little early. They were extremely busy, especially so close to Chinese New Year. Around 1:45, I had my hair washed and chop chop chop…
I loved the way she did my hair! The selfish part of me says, «do not write this review» so that this salon could be my little secret, but Kim was awesome. I will definitely go there again!
Did I mention my long hair cut was only $ 20? Awwwwesome!!~~

I went in one day to get my hair colored. They basically slapped on the hair dye and rushed through it. The dye got all over my ears, neck, and face and it stained in those areas afterward, since they didn’t care to wash it off or clean it up for me. After the dye was on they told me to move so they could help other customers. I told them the dye was itching. My ears, neck, and scalp was burning and they disregarded it. They kept helping other customers and paid no attention to what I told them was bothering me. They kept saying it was normal for it to burn and in the end there was no difference in my hair color. It didn’t even seem like any work was done and they kept saying that there was a change, knowing the dye didn’t show up. In the end I didn’t get what I wanted and I still had to pay for it. They didn’t care to fix it for me at all. Later when I went home I got an allergic reaction to the hair dye, no surprise, and now have large red welts all over my scalp, neck, and ears. I’ve gotten my hair dyed many times and this has never happened to me. Save your time and money and go some place else.
