MAC Cosmetics

I love this MAC and this one only. If you really need help figuring out your skin tone and really have question about what MACs products consist of and how it is made… come here. The quality of their costumer service is admirable. It’s a very small store and they can get very busy but the staff their are super friendly and incredibly knowledgable. Serious make up artists. I was very impressed.

I’m not much of a makeup person. I have a few products I like and I haven’t tried anything new in years. I’ve wanted to try lipstick for a while, but I have always been intimidated by the large selection and have never found one that worked for me. Today I decided to go in with my 6 empty containers and finally find a lipstick or gloss that is subdued/​neutral yet adds a little bit to my face.
After looking around on my own, I felt overwhelmed and lost. Thankfully Chloe offered to help me! She was so kind and patient and truly understood what I wanted. She’s not like the typical makeup artists who clearly don’t want to deal with non-​makeup people (I assume because they think I won’t purchase anything). She took the time to understand me and found me two options that look amazing! I couldn’t have been happier when I left the store.

Popped into MAC Cosmetics yesterday around 4 p.m. after visiting the Uptown Library. Warmly greeted by Travis and Amanda who eagerly got going with helping me. I knew I needed foundation and Amanda started asking all the right questions and I knew right away I was in good hands. She was totally available to answer all my questions and she was very good at letting me decide & also happy when I asked her opinion as well. It was fun! She did a great job and I ended up with foundation, eye shadow, 2 lipsticks, blush, brush set (on sale) and a really cool product that opens up and covers marks on your eyelid… it’s called — Paint Pot. She offered great tips too. It was easy, comfortable and FUN. I enjoyed her integrity and confidence and mostly her desire to make sure I was happy with the RIGHT product for ME. What more can you ask for? I always know I can count on MAC no matter what city I live in — they are trained well and the product is quality and affordable. The only problem is that sometimes there is a wait but each person gets the attention that they wish for. So I timed it right when I was in Uptown — and it worked out great. One other thing is that when we set up a profile for my purchase so my products are recorded for ease of re-​purchasing; there is NO WISH LIST. Other products that she showed to me that I did not purchase are now LOST because I am most likely not going to remember or record and keep that info handy. I think MAC is missing out on sales and a WISH LIST would be very cool for GIFT SUGGESTIONS to friends and family members.

Oh boy. I love this store. I really, really do.
I’ve been into Mac Uptown a few times since moving here and every time I go in I learn something new. I recently had a revelation that despite what I thought, I knew nothing about makeup. But Sophia changed that!
She was amazing. Taught me the basics and got my looking pretty darn fab! Gave me her card. Love her!
The quality of the makeup is unbeatable. My foundation and primer go a long way and doesn’t give that caked up look the supermarket grocery stores leave. I love their lipsticks. I got my summer color there which I wore every day for a few months and can probably use for a few more! My fall lipstick is a matte, diva. And boy do I feel like one when I wear it.
Yea, they are a little understaffed, but the wait is worth it. These ladies know what they are doing and are gonna have you leaving looking like a star!

If you’re black or brown or dark shade, you’ll experience some sort of discrimination. Most not all. I always don’t feel fully welcomed by them ever! It’s like I’m going to steal or rob them. They act annoyed when I ask a question or have a comment about a product. All of that, when I’m paying for what I buy. The worst feeling is when they act like they KNOW EVERYTHING! And you’re Just an ignorant costumer. Horrible I tell you.

This past Saturday, a big group of us went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, once we got to the restaurant, I realized I forgot to put mascara on. In a pinch, I ran down and across the street to MAC Cosmetics. The gentleman was so kind, he put mascara on for me, and even touched up my make-​up knowing that I wasn’t going to purchase anything. He was se sweet and made such an impression, I will be returning there to give them my business!

I brought my 4-​year daughter, who loves make-​up. We were greeted by staff and Amanda helped my daughter pick out colors with respect for her developmental needs while still honoring her interest in make-​up. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable.

ok, so it looks like people aren’t super big fans of this location, but let me explain…
this was the first time i’ve been to a mac store, and the first time i’ve ever gotten my makeup done. i got my makeup done on a saturday around 4:30 for my bachelorette party. yes, it did take about 15 minutes after i checked in for my appointment that someone was able to start my makeup application. but they only had two people on and it got increasingly busy after i walked in the door.
anyway, a woman with orange hair did my makeup. she was really sweet and knew exactly what i wanted. i can’t remember her name though… sorry!
she did a really great job. my only regret is getting the fake eyelashes. i looked like a drag queen (not what i was going for that night) and they irritated my eyes so much i had to rip them off right after i left the store. (big waste of the $ 26 i had to spend to buy them.)
i would go back, but likely on a weeknight for a date, or make an appointment a bit earlier than i had for a weekend occasion.

I know this location has bad reviews, so I was nervous going in today, but I have to say I had a great experience. A girl named Anna helped me pick out a couple new lipsticks and she answered other questions I had (about an upcoming collection). I was greeted and helped right away. I actually told her about the reviews on here and she told me they know and were working on fixing the problem.

Come here only if you know what you want. Otherwise, there are other MAC retailers that you can go to that would be more than willing to help you out.

Ok, I don’t normally wear make-​up. I can’t stand using foundation or anything liquid on my face. I tried to use powder to make my face look better or even out my skin tone. Anyways, I don’t know anything about make-​up. lol. I like it when people put make up on me, I find it very relaxing :) I think make up artist are very helpful. I like to go to Mac because I heard famous people wear them for photo shoots ;). Also I like to get some samples to test them out. Overall Mac is great!

I love MAC’s mascara and eyeshadow, but their service usually sucks. There is one guy here thats nice and actually makes you feel welcome. Thats about it. The women there aren’t friendly and they take their grand old time helping you out. Oh MAC. Good thing you sell great stuff, or I’d make an oath to never return.

Bad service, I do not wear makeup but had a gift card I wanted to use and I stood around for like 15 minutes and nobody ever asked me if I need help or how I was doing. They were too involved in how the weekend was going to be. Will not be using the gift card or returning sucks because I got some really nice lip gloss as a gift from there and I like it.

I tried to go here yesterday but they have new hours and close at 7pm Monday thru Saturday. Bummer.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Mac Cosmetics. There makeup is great quality, and it seems to work very nicely with my skin and what not.
However, the girls that work at this location are all bitches. I’m not sure why, but every time I walk into this place to refill my stuff, it takes like 5 minutes for one of the sales representatives to come help me. Most of the time I know what I’m going in for, but honestly, I could do without the attitude. They are rude, and judgemental. Seriously… you work at a cosmetics store, why do you think you deserve to treat people, especially customers, like crap?
Other locations are similar, the makeup is great, I can’t say anything about that, but if you want good service, re-​think the product!
