Hyatt Regency Minneapolis

We had a great stay. Front desk helpful and friendly. Doorman the same with advice on bars and food. Great location. Clean, safe, great view from room, we will be back.

I always enjoy staying in the Hyatt Regency. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, they have free internet service, and their front office desk is extremely friendly and helpful.
I would give them 5 stars, but I truly believe that all hotels should have refrigerators in their rooms, and unfortunately this hotel does not.

I loved that I could txt the staff for things I needed.
My view was amazing & I enjoyed the bathroom with a makeup counter as well.
We also enjoyed the basketball court.
The location was perfect as well, with a skyway so you didn’t have to walk outside, an SUV that would drive you to the Lightrail & easy walking distance to a couple restaurants & bars — one of which, the Nicolette Diner, which is open ²⁴⁄₇.

As far as Hyatts go, this one was a little disappointing. I stayed here to ring in New Years 2016 only because Studio 54 was throwing a bash and I didn’t want to have to walk in the cold just to have a good time. I had to pay an extra $ 10 for a room with a view, albeit the view was extraordinary. There is a charge to use their computer even though the first 15 minutes is free. However, before you can even use the 15 minutes, you have to input your credit card information. On the up side, the wifi is free.
The best part of the room was the bathroom. It was spacious, the lightening was great, and the shower pressure was on point. I slept soundly but I can’t tell you if that was because the bed was great or because I had danced until the wee hours of the morning and I was exhausted.
The three stars are due to the aforementioned negatives and also because there were two lamps in the bedroom and only one was working and the other was barely lit. Additionally, parking is atrocious and costly and the walls are awfully thin so I could hear the ladies laughing in the room next to mine. Honestly, I’m not sure I would stay here again.

Awful hotel staffed by incredibly rude, condescending people. Recently travelled to the CBI conference in Minneapolis and stayed here. We signed into the rooms in advance and allowed them to charge our account for them since our original flight got cancelled and we were forced to arrive late. Later, we showed up to be told that our rooms had been given away since we arrived later than expected even though we called twice to confirm that they had been checked in.
This seems like an issued that can easily be mended, but it wasn’t. One of the front desk managers (named Uriel) was incredibly rude and inconsiderate and proceeded to brush off our frustrations claiming that we were lucky to get to come to the conference in the first place. The main manager (a woman with long, curly hair) was equally as terrible, and we didn’t even get an apology out of her for the inconvenience.
One front desk attendant named Nick was the only saving grace of the experience. He was nice, accommodating, and extremely helpful. Seriously, Nick deserves a substantial promotion or pay raise and I can’t thank him enough for doing everything he could to help us during the experience. The shuttle driver was fantastic as well, and he’s another person who deserves some sort of award for his hard work and commitment to the job.
They also have really comfortable bathrobes available for check out at the front desk, which is pretty cool. Definitely go get one. Rooms were pretty decent as well. Ultimately not a terrible hotel in itself, but some of the staff seriously need to get the boot.

I had a great stay here this week. My room was on 22^nd floor with a great view of the city. I was so happy to have a vanity and chair in the bathroom! There were extra toiletries provided as well as 2 water bottles. Room also had a mini fridge. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I also got turndown service on first night which was a nice touch. Only complaint is that the lamp next to bed did not have a charging outlet. I would stay here again for sure.

The hotel is conveniently located in the mall and is close many restaurants. My room is clean and the décor is nice and modern. The staff are pleasant. The gym is excellent!!! My room overlooks the pool and has no real natural light, which I don’t really like.

Came here for a work trip and thought it was alright in terms of location. Seems to be popular for conventions. The service was hit or miss and the room was pretty basic (and lacked things like a shower cap). I do have to admit the salad I ordered at the restaurant was good as was the breakfast I ordered from room service.

He only reason it gets 2 stars and not just one is because the beds are comfortable. I was here for a trade show. Checked in. Called downstairs to see if they would bring a mini fridge to my room. Because even though there was a nook that was clearly designed for a fridge, there was not one there. They brought up an big, beat up clunker with a 2 ft cord, so it had to be placed right next to the bed.
I could write a novel about how bad the restaurant/​bar is, but I’ll just give you the highlights. Waited 20 minutes to order a drink. Tried to get the bartenders attention and was told to «just wait a minute». So I left. This afternoon went for lunch. Ordered the soup. It was dish water with vegetables and pepper and looked terrible. Took 34 minutes to get soup and a salad.
Not giving then another dime of my money.

This hotel is very interesting. Excellent location and very very friendly staff. It is a basic Hyatt hotel.
The lobby is an interesting mixture of something I would say modern meets mid-​west cabin style. As you enter you are greeted by a large «sunken» living room with fireplace frames by logs in the wall. Check-​in desk is to your left and Prairie restaurant is to your right.
Hotel guest elevators are past the check in desk toward the back of the lobby.
Rooms are standard and appointed in a purplish blue theme. Writing desk, television, large windows and two queen beds in my room. Bathroom was actually good size with a small stool and low counter for hair styling or make-​up application. Traditional tub/​shower with a nice shower head.
No refrigerator in the room — although there is a space for one in the cabinet. (It is an extra $ 10 a day apparently) Drawers and a tiny closet. There was a safe in the room in the console upon which the television sat. This was nice — good sized and nice access (as opposed to top of the closet which can be tricky for a woman who is 5’7″ or under to reach)
Only drawback was door to room didn’t meet the floor so a lot of sound traveled. A good solid 1″ gap to the hallway.

This hotel has access to a GREAT gym. That’s all, the rest is a given… a great gym matters to me, and maybe to you too.

I first gave the hotel 5 stars but had to downgrade for the following reason: I asked for a fridge and was told they can provide it for $ 1.95 a day. When I came to checkout today they actually charged me $ 20. I am not sure if the receptionist was mistaken or what exactly, but I shouldn’t pay the price for that. I’ll keep my old comment below but I got to say I am very disappointed. Also, they tried to charge me for «local phone calls» even though I didn’t use the phone once. In short, make sure to get a receipt and go over incidentals with them.
Old comment: The rooms are convenient, the staff are very helpful and nice, and the gym… Oh OMG that gym! It is THE BEST facility I’ve seen at a hotel ever. The entire sixth floor is consisting of a massive cardio room, basketball court, weight machines area, boxing section and a large swimming pool. I’ve seen actual professional gyms that are smaller than this hotel’s exersice area. LOVE IT!

If there is ‘Boston Strong,’ then there is ‘Minneapolis Nice.’ And this hotel has that down, service from valet to checkin to restaurant and bartenders was excellent.
This is a big and busy place, and I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and speed at which the hotel staff kept things moving.
The lobby /​bar /​restaurant all lovely.
The rooms were excellent, clean and modern.
Only two negatives as far as I see it.
#1 — Driving in: getting the car to the front door, there is a valet that you can pay to take your car to the premium garage a block down. It was a mess getting in, and I have to believe there accidents occur there. Finally a valet told me that if I didn’t need my car for the two days, it was far cheaper to go park it myself. But it was crazy crowded, and it took 20 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I parked my car.
#2 — Room service never came by after my first night. I am not picky, but I like my bed made.
Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 1 night on business. Very pleasant staff. Great arrival. Complimentary tray of fruit and 2 bottle of water. Complimentary check out at 1 had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.

I love the lobby and guest rooms! Absolutely beautiful! They underwent a renovation not too long ago, and they really did a great job.
Again, here for a work event and I was really impressed with the hotel staff and service. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating — front desk, banquets, A/V…everyone!
And their food is really yummy! That’s always a really nice perk since hotel food has a tendency to be «blah»…but not here!

Such a beautiful venue for an indoor wedding ceremony and reception! Plus, the fireplace is absolutely gorgeous! The wedding I photographed was put together so well and everything looked great! If you want a hotel wedding in Minneapolis– check this place out!

The hotel is beautiful, located so close to the convention center. The rooms are roomy. The food in the restaurant is yummy.
The only reason we’d choose another hotel next visit, the walls are thin, and we happen to be here when there are dance competitions going on. My little kids are supposed to go to sleep early, and that’s difficult to do when it sounds like people are talking in your room.
The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful, so I really would like to stay again.

This is the second time in the past 2 years that I stayed at this hotel for a conference, and I had a great experience. The staff is super friendly. There was hot apple cider available when I checked in. There is a very nice lobby, restaurant and bar downstairs. The rooms are very comfortable. The bathroom is nice and includes a vanity mirror and stool which is great for getting ready in the morning. There is also a café available that serves hot sandwiches and snacks. Computers and printers are available in the lobby to print out your boarding pass. Free wi-​fi is available in guest rooms and the lobby. Self parking in the garage is $ 17/​day. Valet is $ 30/​day.
The best part about staying at this place is the GYM! It is the most amazing hotel gym that I’ve ever seen! They have any and everything you would find at a nice fitness club (minus the personal trainers). They have several elliptical machines, treadmills, weightlifting machines, free weights, kettle bells, punching bars, benches, medicine balls, a yoga studio and even a full size basketball court! Headphones and towels are available as well.
The hotel is also conveniently located downtown with direct access to the skyway. I would definitely stay here if I was back in town!

This Hyatt is being brought back up to Hyatt stands as much as possible. It’s older but is located very centrally in the downtown and walking distance to Target Field. (Home of a AAA+ team).
I like the proximity to the downtown. There’s many restaurants and bars within a 2 mile radius of this property.
Service was great and this makes up for the aging, very boxy, functional design.
Great place to stay on business and relatively inexpensive.

A solid 3 stars.
The Great:
+ The Reception and Room Service Staff. Friendly and helpful.
+ Decent bar on the main floor.
The Average:
o OK bed and linens. The mattress was a bit softer than I was used to.
o The people at the door. They didn’t open the door for me and they didn’t offer to help when I left in the morning. Not uncommon, but I would have expected more.
The Poor:
— Even though it was April the room was HOT. I couldn’t open the windows and the AC barely worked.
