Small local lumber yard. They don’t offer contractor discounts, but it’s a convenient location. They don’t stock a lot but will order things for you. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Whenever possible, I support local businesses. I have purchased lumber, doors and hardware at Hiawatha lumber. I’ve been there numerous times in the past 10 years and have NEVER been treated disrespectfully, either when shopping alone or with my husband. They’ve had what I needed or I could order it.

I was excited to try a local lumber yard other than going to Home Depot all the time for home fix it needs. My experience, as a 30 something athletic woman, buying lumber at Hiawatha Lumber wasn’t the best. I had my order all ready to be purchased when the man who obviously been working there his whole life said, «aren’t you a little frail to be buying lumber.» Seriously? Has this dude never sold lumber to woman before? I guess I’ll be taking my business back to Home Depot where I don’t have to hear stupid chauvinistic comments.
