I sell custom shirts for a living, and Hiawatha Cleaner is the best shirt laundry and dry cleaner I have ever used. I have more customers than I can count who agree and drive from all over the metro area to utilize their services. They are not that big, but they do have two other locations besides Minneapolis, one in Eagan and one in Burnsville, and all the work gets done in the same place. Many of my customers are particular, and I know they do appreciate the quality of the work they do. If they do make a mistake(which we all do), they will hold back the work and tell you that it needed to be redone. That’s better than not having quality control and just sending it out the door. All cleaners will suffer from mechanical and human error, but professionals do the best they can to make things right. Every single day I wear a shirt that has been done by this place for the last 15 years, and I don’t want to think about my life with out them. I attribute the long life I get from my shirts to the care they receive at Hiawatha.

I wish I could give my business to this local dry cleaner but I cannot. On multiple occasions they made mistakes with my orders and showed poor customer service when responding to my concerns. I am not alone in this opinion. See the posts made by It F, Cindy S., Sara B. and Adam L. All of which highlight mistakes made, poor ownership and impolite customer service. Individually our reviews of dissatisfaction may not be worthy of front page on Unilocal but added up… this is a trend consumers benefit from knowing about.

Awesome. Reasonable prices and prompt, friendly service. Have not had any issues with loss of or damage to any items, which has not been my experience with other dry cleaners in the Twin Cities. It’s a little off the beaten path for those of us not residing in the Nokomis area, but this gem is worth the trip.

Great service — both dry cleaning and laundry. The shirts always come back looking good, and never any broken buttons! Such friendly people too — can’t remember any other cleaners that were so nice.

This hole in the wall place is actually one of the best dry cleaners in the Twin Cities according to a decorator friend who is a fabric expert. We had Nevins-White Way before and they screwed up consisently including ruining some cool pants I bought in NYC. Hiawatha has not messed up a thing, and actually saved an item that we thought was trashed by another dry cleaner. Plus they are friendly, have a weird knack for remembering names, and are home to Woody, one of the coolest dogs in town.
