We brought my vintage engagement ring in for resizing, cleaning, tightening of stones and an appraisal. My ring turned out so incredibly beautiful, I was left speachless. My ring is very unique and I really wanted to make sure that my insurance coverage could replace the exact ring if anything happened. My insurance agent had the jewelry department verify and they said that the appraisal I received was so well written and detailed that they were certain they could create an accuratel reproduction. I’m so impressed with the services I received and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I will be a lifelong customer.

I had the most lovely experience at Gittelson a couple months ago. I needed a new pin for my watch band and had just a few minutes between patients to pop over and have it done. Not only that, but it was pouring rain! I showed up soaking wet and feeling rushed, but Gene, Mike & Molly were so genuinely friendly and welcoming that it turned my mood right around. And Gene found a pin in his box of odds & ends and had my watch done in 5 minutes, for free! (I gave him a little medical advice in return :)) Could not have been a better experience. Gittelson has another loyal customer for life!

I had a really wonderful experience getting my engagement ring appraised here last week. I had all the right documents so the appraisal itself literally took a second and while it was being cleaned we had a lively chat about wedding plans and destination weddings. Everyone was very helpful and the best part was I didn’t have to leave my ring!

I want to preface this with my apoplogies for reviewing so late. It’s been over a year since my first visit, but wedding planning man… if you’re reveiwing a jeweler, you probably know how it goes. Eats up all your time.
I’ve gone into Gittelson twice now and had 2 amazing experiences. The first time was shortly after getting my enagagement ring; my now husband and I received a free appraisal from the place we bought the ring, but we wanted a second opinion before getting the insurance. I called Gittelson bfrom home to see what that would cost, and they said to bring it in and they’d look at what we had and tell us if it was right for free! Sure enough, the owner Gene sure did give us his professional opinion for free… not only that, but knew the person who did our appraisal and turned out it was the previous owner of Gittelson Jewlers. So we were very happy at that point, especially because other places I called said it would cost up to $ 100 and that I would have to leave my ring (which I wasn’t prepared to part with so shortly after getting it: P)
Gene and his son Michael and their co-​worker Molly were all so, SO, SOOO nice. They encouraged me to come back before the wedding to get the rings shined up, which I did, thus my second visit. I went in only 3 days before I was scheduled to leave for my international wedding, and not only did they have the rings done the next day, they were able to take my husband’s yellow-​gold ring and cover it in rhodium so that it would match my white-​gold ring. It was totally their suggestion as I didn’t even know that was possible… and wow did it come out beautiful!!!
I read in a comment below that they’ve never been to a store that genuinely appreciated their customers as much as this place… and I 100% agree. I can’t wait to go back to Gittelson to have a stone of mine made into my next ring by them!

I love this shop! Everyone greets you with a warm smile and instills in you confidence that your jewelry is in great hands! Michael quickly removed extra links in my watch while I waited. it was a fast couple of minutes and I was able to get my ring cleaned while I waited! Fantastic service!

Just had a fantastic experience at Gittelson’s. I’m in from out of town and needed watch pins removed for a new watch.
They could not have been nicer. Michael removed them perfectly, only charged me $ 5, and validated parking, all in a few minutes. The whole thing could not have been easier. Gittelson’s took Minnesota nice to a new level. Awesome!

After reading Unilocal reviews of Gittelson’s and several competitors, I walked in cold with a lady’s diamond engagement ring — one I bought elsewhere — in need of resizing. Gene, Mike, and Molly greeted me like an old friend and gave me a 10-​day turnaround estimate (due to a vacation shutdown) and some very helpful advice on how MUCH to resize it (the future wearer being in another time zone).
The NEXT DAY Molly called — the ring was ready. Gene had resized it, cleaned it, improved the color, provided a new display box, and given me an informal appraisal — all for less than half what his competitors would have charged just for the resizing and a fifth of what I feared it would cost.
If I were buying diamond engagement rings every week, this is where I’d go. They know I won’t be, nonetheless I’ve been treated like a VIP as well as a lifelong friend. Strongly recommend!

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a store that genuinely appreciates their customers as much as this place. I came here for a watch battery replacement and they made an impression. Customer service is top notch. They literally want nothing more than for you to leave absolutely happy. It’s not fake pandering either. The watch battery took 2 days, which was annoying, but they claim they do a more thorough process, offered to let me borrow a watch while mine was out and I simply felt like my property was in really good hands. If you are in the market to make a purchase, they will make you feel at ease, and like you’re spending a million bucks, even if it’s just a $ 13 watch battery.

I cannot express how amazing Gene, Mike, and Molly are! Gene is just the nicest, most knowledgeable man. It is evident in all that he does that he truly cares about his customers. I recently had a horrible experience with another jeweler and Gene was incredibly accommodating to help find a solution. He gave me the honest opinion that I was looking for and I can’t thank him enough for that. Once everything is returned and refunded from the other jeweler, I will no doubt be returning to Gittelson. What a wonderful place! VERY highly recommended.
Updated review: I brought in some watches and a special family ring that needed to be cleaned and polished. I cannot believe how gorgeous the ring looked when it was finished. Absolutely fantastic and beyond thrilled!

What a wonderful place! My fiancée and I called Gittelson’s as we searched to find a place for ring appraisals. We already had an appraisal done by the shop we originally bought from, but were looking for a second opinion for insurance purposes. When I called, they were extremely friendly and said that they would have a look and let us know if our current appraisal was correct, free of charge :) Sure enough, we brought in the ring and paperwork, and they did just as they said! Wonderful customer service… Very friendly staff. Small shop, but beautiful pieces. Will be back to buy in the future!

I brought my ring in to get resized. The turn around time was very quick. My ring fit like a charm after they resized it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Family owned and operated, you don’t see that much these days but you get the best service from places like this! Highly recommend!

I love everything about Gittelson Jewelers! My husband and I purchase all of our fine jewelry here– including our wedding jewelry. I just love the intimate, family setting in the store. Gene, Mike & Molly are true gems to work with, they’re knowledgable, sweet and just all around lovely. One thing I really like about their store is the one of a kind selection. Unilocal never steers me wrong. Just picked up my new anniversary set and it’s stunning. We worked with Gittelson jewelers from the beginning. Walked in with no appointment, totally confused about what I really wanted. We showed him some pictures of things I like and he told me some pros and cons of each design. What I loved is how he really listened to me about the look I was going for. After listening, he made suggestions and showed me different rings with a little bit of each aspect that I liked. After comparing online and with a few other jewelers, it was clear Gittelson jewelers was the most professional and classy. The custom rings came out exactly as we discussed and they look even better than I had imagined. We will definitely be coming back for upgrades and other pieces. Thank you

Gittelson provided the kind of service I didn’t think was even possible any more … from any jeweler. I have a Movado watch that stopped working and has been sitting in a drawer for two years. That’s because each jewler I took it to said they would have to send it to Movado for repair … at a minimum of $ 300. Gittelson actually has a watch guy! After my two year quest, they had it repaired in Minneapolis within days.
That made me so happy I brought in my diamond ring for repair. It was my grandmother’s diamond and I was worried about it. They had it beautifully repaired and back to me in within three days.
I’m so glad I stopped by the shop one day on my way to lunch. Thanks Gene and Mike for the best service I’ve had in years — anywhere.

I’ve since visited their shop as well to have my bracelet fixed, and they were so kind! They even validated my parking when I went to drop it off and came back to pick it up.
